EXPLORATION: Are You Expecting?

Are you ‘pregnant with possibilities’?

The Universe is filled with the potential of answering every dream you can dream for yourself.  But what are you expecting?

The energies of attraction are not focused like a laser when they are generated from the emotion of fear.  You can’t be worried and manifesting your dreams at the same time, for the laser that you send out like a beacon, attracting like energy into your field, is a laser tuned to that upon which you focus your worry energy, not the energy of your dream.

You do have the power to attract a nightmare but why would you?

When people start studying prosperity and the law of attraction they often do exercises to change their expectations.  Recently our daughter started expecting the Universe to give her money.  She found a dollar on a store parking lot and sat waiting for the person who had dropped it to return but no one did.  She found several dollars in the dryer when she did the laundry.  Magic?  No.  She EXPECTED the Universe to find a way to be generous with her and then she ALLOWED the Universe to choose how to do that.

I often teach that prosperity can come into your field in surprising ways when you are open to it.  One way that the Universe gives me money is to have a sale on something that I have to buy.  I was going to buy it anyway but I can save money that I would have spent.  This just happened for the Color Class that I am teaching.  We had selected the binder we wanted to give participants and had found one that came in lots of colors [this IS for a Color Class!].  We developed the prototype workbook with one binder then went back to purchase a larger quantity when we had the final numbers for the class.  The binders were on sale and they had all the colors in stock!

This doesn’t represent a lot of money saved but it was going to have to be spent anyway.  We expect the Universe to give to us in surprising ways.

What do you expect from your business?  Your boss?  Your significant other?  Your children?  Are you expecting challenges, threats, anger, disrespect?  And are you getting that?

How adaptable are you to change?  Are you willing to ‘go with the flow’?

Sometimes we get so stuck in our expectations that we forget to adapt to changing circumstances or energies.  Have you ever thought about changing your expectations?  Are you willing to change?

I knew someone who had a business and lost her business partner so was faced with only being able to pay half the rent.  It was time to renegotiate the lease and she thought she might have to move.  Instead, she focused on staying in the same space and paying half the rent.  She focused and prayed and concentrated and expected this.  She came out of the meeting with the landlord with a lease at half the rent for the next year!  It CAN happen!

Are you, at this point, telling yourself that this only happens for other people, that it doesn’t work that way for you?  As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.”

Trying being ‘pregnant with possibilities.’  Think that you CAN manifest your dreams. EXPECT the Universe to support you in that manifestation.  Then go with the flow and allow the Universe to figure out the ‘how’ of making things happen.

Let this week be your ‘due date’ – expect great things!

EXPLORATION: Think New Thoughts for 2013

It seems important for us to look at the state of the world and the way that humans are treating humans today.

This is not about politics although the politics of each country reflect what is happening in the psyches of the inhabitants.  What are you projecting from your psyche?

Since thoughts are energetic projects and have an effect on the environment we must take responsibility for the thoughts that we hold in our energy fields.  Ask yourself about the thoughts you projected today.  Did they come from a place within you that is sourced in Love?  Were your thoughts uplifting ones that, if written down and shared with others, they would make someone smile and feel good about themselves?  Or were you angry or upset and projecting that energy outward?

Think about the effect on a city when anger and hatred are stirred up and people are focused on disenfranchising others or hating and separating others.  Think about what could happen in a place where the people are fearful or wanting to kill others or angry at their neighbors.

Now think about the effect on a city when the inhabitants come together around a common cause to support each other.  Think about a community where kids can play safely because neighbors look out for neighbors.  Think about the energy in a place where neighbors spend the evening sitting together outside sharing chitchat and watching kids play together.

What do you feel as you imagine these scenarios?  Can you picture the column of energy that rises up from a place when the energy is what you pictured?  Which energy column would you rather sit next to?

This is what we each have a responsibility to create and to monitor.  Your energy is magnified when attached to the energy of others.  What do you chat about with your friends? Your co-workers?  Are you spinning each other up with thoughts of hatred and anger and separation?  Or are you finding common ground in which to discuss ways that you are similar and can agree?  When you spout off do you move the conversation to solutions or do you stay in the emotion of the problems?  Are you more comfortable discussing issues than seeking strategies for moving beyond the problems?

Each of us has responsibility for the thought energies we project.  When we gather with others, we intensify the energy of the ideas expressed and discussed.  Conversations do not have to be confrontational.  There can be real, honest agreements to disagree, but there must be respect for the person even if the ideas expressed cannot be embraced.

Somewhere along the line we seem to have forgotten that we are all connected.  We are all members of the human race.  We have differing perspectives based on what we have been taught or what we have experienced or what we have embraced as our values.  Yet each person is on Planet Earth to learn lessons, to grow, to advance human consciousness, whether or not they have embraced that responsibility.

Accept that you cannot control the thoughts of others, but you can control your own.  Catch yourself building a column of energy that doesn’t feel supporting and light and stop it.  Shift your thinking to thoughts of Light and Hope and Community. Make sure you are projecting energy that you wouldn’t mind having projected onto you!

And surround yourself with people who are willing co-creators of columns of Light rather than anger and hatred.  We will all thank you!

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Manifest in the NOW!

Dear Ones,

Where are your thoughts at this time? Are you focusing on what is wrong with your life or on what is right with it? Are you wishing for what is not or are you appreciating what is? This is a time when many are seeking support for a new direction in their life, or are planning to make changes in the coming months, or are looking ahead to what they hope will be better times.

But we would tell you that Life is only what is present in this moment now. Life is only this moment, nothing else. You can think about your past or your future but it is just that, a thought. Your Life is being lived in this present moment only. Your thoughts are not your Life but they do create or recreate it.

When you focus your thoughts on what is missing in your Life or on what you are wishing for but not having then you are holding the energy of lacking what you desire and bringing that energy into this present moment. When you are focused on something in the past or in the future then you are giving away the energy of this present moment to a thought that is energy not available to your Life in this moment.

Think of this as if you are at a dinner party with a buffet table laden with good food. You are hungry and looking forward to eating the food that is there before you. You might even be starting to salivate as you think about and look at what is coming onto your plate in a few minutes. Then there is a fire alarm bell and you are forced to go outside and stand in the weather for hours while all that food spoils on the buffet. You eventually go home hungrier than when you arrived and never having eaten that which you were expecting to eat.

Life is like that. It doesn’t mean that you cannot anticipate with joy what is coming your way but until you are actually eating at the buffet of Life you are merely salivating over a thought. While you stood in line thinking about the food there might have been a very interesting person standing behind you that you didn’t notice but with whom you might have had a great conversation. You might have missed an hors d’oeuvres table where you could have been snacking on amazing appetizers but you were focused on those foods that you would be eating later. There is much that can be missed in the present moment if all your energy is going toward something in the future.

In this present moment, what is around you that might have escaped your notice? What joy is present for you to tap into? If you are experiencing some pain in this moment, physical, emotional, or mental, what can you learn from this experience to take the meaning from it? If it is a physical pain, you might need to change your position or take an analgesic or lie down to rest. For an emotional pain you might need to do some journaling or talk with someone to process your emotions as you are feeling them. Mental pain usually means that there is an error in your thinking that needs to be examined and addressed by monitoring your thoughts and asking, ‘Is this true?’

This, Dear One, is living a Conscious Life, where you are fully present to the experience of the moment, neither giving away your power to your thoughts of the future nor dwelling on your experiences in the past so that you cannot live in the present. Practice being fully present to every moment of NOW in your Life.

Remember that the Law of Attraction calls you to be in gratitude for what is, not for what might be. You must pull your attention into the present moment, tap into gratitude for what is, focus your attention on your desires as if they are in this present moment and give gratitude for that, and allow your physical, emotional and mental energies to align in this present NOW.

This will bring you Joy and Peace! Then do it again in the next NOW!

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: “I Choose Thoughts of Abundance, Prosperity and Freedom!”

Seems that money or the lack thereof is the topic du jour for a lot of us. I appreciate this message with a specific way to address our thoughts, especially if they are tripping us up. How many times did the words ‘abundance, prosperity and freedom’ appear in the Mystic Message? I like the idea of focusing on these concepts and how it feels to experience them instead of how much money is lacking or needed. Money seems to drain energy when it is thought about only as something that is needed and does not exist.

Money does exist. We won’t get into economics and policy here, but money is around. We spend so much time thinking about it but it is really just something used in an exchange for products or services. Money is not the same as abundance, prosperity or freedom, but we sure think it is, don’t we?

We have a friend who is divesting himself of most of his ‘things’ and he is experiencing a great deal of freedom, thinking about where he will rent a room so that he can do more volunteer work and meet more people. Another friend has rented out his own place to move into New York City to experience life there and to get his new business off the ground in a more fertile area than where he lived before.

And we are doing something similar, selling our house in Colorado Springs and moving into a rental near our family, letting go of a lot of the stuff we’ve accumulated over our 30 years together, including furniture. We’re simplifying.

With simplification comes a certain amount of freedom. With renting comes a freedom from worrying about the next repair and how much it will cost [it’s the landlord’s problem!]. With a move to be near family we will experience an abundance of joy at being able to participate more fully in the lives of our grandchildren and other family members. When our house in Colorado and our mountain property are sold we will have no more mortgages to pay each month.

Instead of thinking about the bills that need to be paid and whether or not there is money to pay them, we can shift our thinking to how free we will be as we move forward on our path. I think it is very important to note how the connection between our thoughts and our experience brings about what we focus on.

It is easy to focus on not having enough money. It is easy to say/think, ‘I can’t afford that.’ But notice that the guidance in the Message is very specific: shift that thought to ‘I am choosing to do something else.’ Maybe it seems difficult at first to shift your thinking but here’s one example: ‘I choose to pay for those things that I have already enjoyed in my life rather than to purchase something new at this time.’ This gets you into the emotion of gratitude for the fun you have already had as you anticipate having fun in the future and out of the ‘woe is me! I can’t afford to do that new thing’ mode of thinking. Freedom! And an appreciation for the abundance that has already shown up in your life. This will magnetize and attract more freedom and abundance in your life.

And all you did was reframe one thought into attracting that which you desire to come into your life!

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: “Choosing to Pay the Bills? “

Dear Ones,

We are aware that many people spend much of their time worrying about money. Or should we say, the lack of money. We wish you to change your thoughts.

Money is not abundance or prosperity. Is it REALLY money that you lack or is it a feeling of freedom, abundance, prosperity? What is it you are really feeling when you focus on money or the lack of money?

You can take something whose only value is created when two parties agree on the value and make that thing the essence of your thoughts and, thus, your Life. OR you can change your thinking, control your thoughts, and focus on abundance, prosperity and freedom.

For many of you, you have equated money with these qualities of Life. That is a false equivalent. Would you not feel freer without a mortgage to pay? Would you not feel more prosperous if you felt yourself making choices from a place of empowerment rather than from a place of lack (“I could do that but I choose something else” rather than “I can’t afford that”)? And wouldn’t you feel more abundant in your Life if you appreciated and cared for what is in your Life especially if you have only those things in your Life that you love instead of focusing on what you don’t have or dealing with /feeling burdened by the things in your Life that you don’t love?

You do have the power of choice when it comes to your thoughts. Even those thoughts that arise unbidden in your consciousness can be attached to or let go of – it’s your choice. Where you focus your attention is also your choice. The Law of Attraction states that you attract into your Life that which you magnetize with the energy of your thoughts. What have you been thinking about today?

Now if you are saying that your Life is a struggle to pay the bills then we would tell you to take heart and heed these words today. You are choosing to struggle. Let that go. You are choosing to have those bills in your Life today, perhaps because of decisions made when you did not have the consciousness and awareness that you have today. That is okay. Every day contains new lessons for you to learn and today is no exception to that.

Think differently about the bills you have to pay. Move into gratitude that you have always been making the right choices to learn the lessons of your Life. Rejoice in the empowered feeling of continuing to make choices. Even if your choice is about which bill to pay and which bill to delay, make a choice. You focus on what you don’t want [a consequence] and you energize that. Focus on feeling empowered instead of victimized and you will attract greater empowerment.

There is a difference between bringing your focus fully into the present moment and focusing on ‘what is’ instead of what you desire. There are two aspects to this that it is important for you to consider.

The first is that you must pull all your energy into this present moment because this is your Life. All you have is this moment.

But when you are in this moment thinking about what you don’t have, you steal energy from this moment, your magnetizing/attracting energy, and you give it away to the lack of what you desire.

Think instead of how it will feel when you bring what you desire into this present moment. Energize and ramp up that feeling. Add gratitude to that emotional experience. Smile – with your facial muscles and with your heart.

This is how you attract that which you desire.

When you focus on lack or on the difference between what is and what you desire you make yourself unhappy. When you live in acceptance of what is and an appreciation that you always have the power to change your thoughts – about what is and about what you desire – then you can live an abundant, prosperous, empowered Life in freedom.

We realize that this is a complicated issue but we invite you to start today practicing these techniques. Energize abundance, prosperity and freedom by thinking thoughts and feeling feelings of abundance, prosperity and freedom.

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Take out the Garbage!

In my old computer programmer days [seems like centuries ago!] we used to say, ‘GIGO – Garbage In, Garbage Out’! Seems that’s what this message is all about. What we input into our internal database is what comes out in our life.

So what are you putting in? When I work with clients who are accepting what others are trying to input it reminds me of the days when someone gave us ‘garbage’ to put in the database on the computer but expected a ‘garden’ to come out of it. That only works if the garbage is fertilizer and you also plant flowers!

Your thoughts are your thoughts. Other people own their thoughts, too. But it’s up to you to decide which thoughts you will accept and store away in your database. Do you believe in your own self-worth or have you let someone else define that for you? For example, we women look at magazines and think that we must measure up [or down!] to what we see. But even those models say they don’t look like that either! Have you had a parent or spouse or friend tell you that being an entrepreneur is not wise because there’s no security in that? Not true!

I’ve had several clients who have heard this in some form or other but today’s job market is not like it was decades ago. No one’s job is secure today. But if you are an entrepreneur you can make your own success, you can adjust your course, you can use the Law of Attraction to your benefit without being impeded by others. YOU have more options than someone who is not on their own.  If you are in a job as an employee, you must still decide who YOU are because your job description does not define you!

And look at your relationships to see if you are allowing others to input their ideas, thoughts, models of the world into your internal database. It’s pretty easy to let that happen. But they are not living your Life Purpose. It is not their responsibility to live out your mission on Planet Earth.

Now look at what you regularly input into your own database. So often we read, digest, listen to ‘stuff’ that does not lift up our own internal vibration. We allow ourselves to be lowered to a frequency that does not resonate with our spirit and we can’t understand why we are feeling ‘down.’ It’s our internal vibratory frequency that is ‘down.’ That’s the clue that we must do something to lift our own vibration.

Remember the Beach Boys’ song, ‘Good Vibrations’? [OK, maybe I’m the only one old enough to remember the Beach Boys!] Our internal mechanisms want us to feel good, to feel those ‘Good Vibrations.’ What are you doing today to feel a higher vibration than the day might bring on its own?

As I write this I have had technical glitches with three client sessions – three! My whole morning. What was that all about? Now my choice is to rail against the Universe or the gods of cyberspace, or I can deal with each issue as it arises and move forward. I chose the latter path.

We are always at choice about how to respond to what happens to us. But our options for those responses come from our own internal database. We must be careful to input only that which we would be happy to bring out as an option, a possible choice for us. This is why it is such a good idea to periodically clear out the database by clearing limiting beliefs, negative thoughts, blocks that we might not even know we have. Often times when I work with clients, this is the most important work we do. The rest of what they are looking for flows from this!

You might also try the ‘nightly review’ where before you go to sleep you review your day, going backwards through the day to decide if, next time, there is a better choice for you to make in a certain situation. This instructs your Unconscious Mind to store the new choice as an option for next time instead of the old one.

Take out the ‘garbage’ every night!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: “What’s Your Magnet Attracting?”

Dear Ones,

What are the energies that you are putting out into the Universe to attract to you what is happening in your life? Do you worry about money? Do you fret about relationships? Are you stuck in a place that is uncomfortable and focusing on that discomfort?

Think of yourself as a beacon in the darkness. Whatever energy you generate with your mind becomes the energetic electromagnetic beam that radiates outward from you. As a beacon you are sending this magnetic beam out into the Universe inviting like energies to attach to the beam. What are you attracting?

Some people discount what is called ‘The Law of Attraction’ but this is a law of the Universe, whether you believe in it or not. Just as the Law of Gravity works on Planet Earth whether you understand how it works or not. We are teaching you that the Law of Attraction is at work in your life right now, no matter what you think about the Law.

Because you are a thinking individual your thoughts are energetically charged at all times. You are creating magnets with every thought. What were you thinking about just before your started reading this? Was it attracting what you want in your life or what you don’t want? When you become conscious of yourself as a beacon into the vast Universe inviting into your life whatever the energy of your thoughts attract, then you can see what is playing out in your life as a manifestation of previous thoughts.

Even if you don’t remember ‘asking’ [or attracting] what you have, you can probably remember thinking about it. Now, we are not criticizing you for the thoughts that you have had in the past, for you were learning about how the Universe works. You might have implanted beliefs and thought patterns from decades ago, or borrowed from your parents and ancestors, that you didn’t even know that you had accepted. But the fact that your thoughts from the past have created patterns in your present life does not mean that you cannot change those patterns NOW.

This is what you are called to do. Examine your thoughts, your beliefs, in light of what you are learning about living a Conscious Life. Can you identify patterns that are not supporting your personal growth? Do you have situations in your life that you must examine for what you can change about your thinking about those situations?

For example, are you worrying about something and not seeing what there is for you to do about that situation? Perhaps the place to start is to get control of your thoughts about the situation. Every time that your worry surfaces, shift to considering one action you can take away from that worry. This is not to say that you must escape into fantasy rather than face front on what is going on, but rather that you can think of one aspect of that situation over which you have enough control to take one action. Look for one benefit that you receive from that situation. This might be very small or seemingly insignificant, but what is the one benefit you can think of that you have derived or are deriving from being in that situation? Now feel grateful for that one benefit.

Gratitude will move you forward into finding solutions. The energy of Gratitude, when it creates the magnet of your beacon into the Universe, attracts to you more opportunities to feel Gratitude.

And if you cannot find one benefit in your present situation? Then be grateful for the knowledge that you are perceptive enough to know that you must take steps to change the situation. Again, let your beacon contain a different energy than judgment or frustration or disappointment or anger and you will attract different energies into your life.

Try this today with something that is troubling you. You will see a difference. Be gentle with yourself and practice being a Conscious Beacon so that what you attract is what you really want.

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: What’s on Your Gratitude List?

Sometimes it’s difficult to access gratitude when we are feeling overwhelmed with our life or with our circumstances.  There seem to be a lot of us who are undergoing major changes and transitions in our lives.  Are you?

A friend of mine recommended this exercise to me:  Write out 100 things for which you are grateful and read the list every morning and every night.  This helps to focus your energy in gratitude instead of worry.  If you know anything about the Law of Attraction you know that you attract that on which you focus your attention.  If you are constantly worried then you are energizing and magnetizing the very thing you are worrying about, which is probably NOT what you want to have happen!

But if you go into a space of gratitude for what you do have then you energize more of that in your life.  ‘This or something better’ is the energy of attraction when you express and really get in touch with gratitude.  This is why affirmations work, because, when created properly, an affirmation is stated in the positive, in the present, and as if it is already reality so it is stated with gratitude.  When you send out this message of attraction the Universe arranges things to provide what you are focused on, or something better.

There are critics who do not hold that the Law of Attraction works but I believe differently.  Even when I didn’t know about the Law I could see that my thoughts were creating my reality.  Or did the thoughts create the lens through which I saw my reality?  Does it really matter?

Finding gratitude in the little things in your life will propel you forward into finding more things for which to feel gratitude.  Make up your list of 100 things and have fun with it.  Maybe ‘fun’ is on your list!  My list has things as prosaic as ‘My iPhone’ and as esoteric as ‘Seeing a Great Blue Heron, 2 foxes, a golden eagle and a coyote, all this week’ on it.  No matter what, there is always something to be grateful for.

I remember my beloved Aunt Margaret on her last day of life.  My family had been on vacation when we learned that she was unwell and not expected to last very much longer.  We hurried to her bedside and she had waited to see us to say goodbye.  After we left her a nurse came in and offered to get her whatever she wanted.  My aunt asked for a ginger ale and told the nurse where to find some money for the nursing home soft drink machine.  The sweet nurse said, ‘Don’t worry.  This is my treat.’  And my aunt’s response was,  ‘Thank you.  In my condition tonight I’ll accept your treat.’  She died a few hours later.

We can choose to be in gratitude or we can choose to find something to get upset about.  We can be sweet to other people or we can be mean to them.  We can create affirmations from gratitude or desires from greed.  All of Life is about choice.   Oh, maybe not about consciously choosing everything that happens but certainly about choosing what our response will be.  When we start each day in gratitude, our choices will come from an expanded awareness of how our lives are unfolding.  This expansion guides us to better choices throughout that day.
