INSPIRATION FROM ROSEMARY: What Are Your Values for 2013?

Here’s my video for the week: What Are Your Values for 2013?

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Are You an Explorer?

Dear Ones,

Reach out. There are so many people on Planet Earth who are waiting for you to show up to be a partner to them in their life. You must reach out to them.

If you are asking how to do this then you are probably not yet playing in the ‘big playground of Earth.’ You must learn to reach out to others who are not in your normal or everyday life circumstances. Where do you spend your time? Are you reaching beyond the borders of your small world into the greater world outside? If not, then this is the time to do so.

For some of you, this means reaching outside your own city to visit nearby towns. For others, it is nearby or distant countries or traveling around the world. For some, it might be to reach out through the 21st Century airwaves to people around the world who are connected through cyberspace. And for some of you it is the small step with big impact – reach out from your home or office to connect to others who live not very far from you.

When humanity calls you to expand your consciousness it does not mean just to meditate and to think. It also means to reach out beyond the border of your own energy field to connect to other people who need to see your facial expressions, to shake your hand or give you a hug, to feel the energy of your smile and your intelligence as they interact with you. And there is also a gift to you in creating these interactions, for you will receive the benefit of their energy, their smile, their intelligence.

Too often we see people choosing to stay in their insular circles, allowing into their space only those who think the same way, believe the same things, view the world through the same lens. But your personal growth requires that you constantly try on new ideas, accepting or rejecting them on their own merits, but exploring them for how they can help you on your journey to higher consciousness. If you consistently isolate yourself from perspectives that differ from yours you will not be stimulated to grow.

Consider the oyster. If a grain of sand were never introduced into the oyster to become the irritant around which it forms a protective shield, there would never be a pearl to give to the human who enjoys it.

Ideas that can be discussed and explored without judgment or vitriol allow you to become the oyster creating the pearl of wisdom. Listen for the bit of truth in an irritating statement from someone else. Decide consciously if there is any merit or if you must reject the entire idea because it does not resonate with you or it is based on misinformation. Examine your own beliefs – do they need to be changed, updated, modified for today’s reality?

This, Dear One, is the life of the Spiritual Explorer. Others around you are also exploring, some more elegantly than others. Some like to hear their own ideas repeated and repeated without examination, merely accepted as whole fact, and those people do not like to have evidence presented that might contradict their idea or cause them to re-examine what they believe. Conversing with these people is like putting the grain of sand on the outside of the oyster and waiting for the pearl to appear. (It won’t.)

But there are many others around you who would welcome the opportunity to have honest discussions that can be explorations of ideas so that they can expand their awareness, their understanding and their consciousness. You must learn who these are and engage.

You must, also, learn how to have discussions without judgment and without anger, attack or belittling. Allow others to have opinions but be strong in your values so that you can assess what you are exploring from a point of higher consciousness.

You will benefit from stepping out of your normal space and becoming an explorer.

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Bring Your Dreams into Your Now

So much of what we are surrounded by these days seems to draw our attention to what we lack and what we ‘need’ to fill that space of lack. Just watch commercial television for a few minutes and you will be convinced that you ‘need’ that beer to attract the sexy girls, that drug to feel happier, those clothes to feel good about yourself, that cell phone to be ‘cool’ and the list goes on and on.

And then there is the fear-mongering that leads us to be fearful of everything including being ‘not enough.’ We are also told to fear foreclosure, terrorism, the loss of a job, the loss of a relationship, the loss of beauty, etc. How are we supposed to overcome this constant bombardment that tells us to focus on lack?

First, avoid those commercials! We rarely watch commercial TV but saw a lot of commercials during the American football playoff games. In another week we’ll be watching the Super Bowl with its extremely high-priced commercials telling us what we lack. [ I actually love the commercials that are done especially for the Super Bowl as they often tell stories and are very creative, but they do want us to feel that we’re not good enough unless we buy their product.] News broadcasts also seem to want us to focus on the stories with the most sensational happenings which lead us into a focus on what we don’t want. Maybe we should also stay away from the news. [I do.]

So what do you focus on instead? Focus on how you feel, what you do have in your life, and keep yourself in the space of gratitude and action based on living in the present moment. And BE who you were born to be so that you can fulfill your Life Purpose in this lifetime. When you know your WHY and you commit to being who you are, you have a lens through which to view your life that brings into focus the values that lift you up and that help you to choose what you will do in every moment.

Think about your purpose. Do you know your ‘why’? If you’re not sure, then make an effort to identify why you are living this life. Conscious Living is a choice based on a commitment to be awake and aware in every moment and to move toward greater consciousness and personal growth. Knowing your Life Purpose is an important part of Conscious Living.

What are your dreams? Your visions? The Mystic Message is not about giving up your dreams, but about holding them as visions that are with you in the present moment. This is why affirmations are written in present tense rather than in the future. Hold onto your visions as manifested in this blossoming present moment. Your dreams are your dreams NOW and if you focus on the dream as present in a ‘becoming reality’ sense then you are attaching the energy of presence to the dream rather than the energy of lack of the unmaterialized dream living in a nebulous future. Hold that dream in your own space so that it is not ‘the stick’s length’ away from you, which is where it will stay just like the carrot.

Be who you are. Commit to living your Life Purpose. Hold your dreams in the present moment. All of your energy can be focused on now and so can your joy.

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: The Consciousness of Desire

Dear Ones,

Rather than focus on what you have or do not have in your physical reality at this moment, spend your energy today focusing on who you are and who you can become in this moment.

Too much energy can be wasted by wanting something one does not have, or by worrying about something that one does have, and that energy is no longer available for advancing one’s personal growth. Are you focused on getting more money? Are you dreaming of having more/bigger/better ‘things’ in your life? There is nothing wrong with dreaming but the energy is not useful if it comes from a place of lacking something.

The energy of lack creates more lack in one’s life. Wishing for something one does not have creates a distance between one’s self and what is wished for. However, if you focus in gratitude on that which is already in your life, and look to yourself to decide WHO you must BE to grow, then the energy becomes a magnet of gratitude and a commitment to the personal growth required to be the person who has the things/situations you desire.

There is a deep connection between who you are and what is going on in the outer circumstances of your life. This is not to say that everything that happens to you is your ‘fault,’ although there are some who are quick to blame or find fault or talk about ‘deserving’ a fate. But you are a perpetual student of life, whether consciously or unconsciously, and so everything that is going on around you and in you carries with it the lesson of the classroom of your life in this present moment. Everything is presented to you as an opportunity to examine yourself, your values, your desires within the context of the lesson to be learned.

Are you feeling that you lack something in your life, like money or a relationship or a job? Ask yourself who you are being as you ponder that lack. There are those who focus on the space between the jobs and those who focus on who they are as the next job is coming to them. There are those who focus on the space between relationships and those who focus on who they are in relationship to their own inner being as the next relationship is or is not coming to them. The focus becomes an energy of Self, of Purpose, rather than of lack.

Can you see that by putting your attention on what you don’t have you energize that distance between what you do have/who you currently are and what you desire? It is like a carrot on a stick. The donkey is always trying to reach the carrot it desires but the carrot always stays the distance of the stick’s length away from being reached.

Focus instead on who you are right now. Are you a grateful person? Are you caring for the possessions that you do have? Or are you neglectful of yourself and others in your pursuit of the next ‘thing,’ maybe even the next achievement? Are you actively working on your personal growth, exploring and expanding your consciousness or are you contracting into a position of ‘I know everything I need to know’ which sends out an energy that does not magnetize growth and expansion?

Hold yourself in a position of constant personal growth. Keep expanding. Explore. But know that you are enough, your life holds all the lessons for you in this moment that you are needing to learn. Explore from a position of seeking growth and expansion, not one of lacking something that you need.

The energy shift will, ironically, bring you what you desire!

And so it is.

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Going in Circles?

Dear Ones,

Where are you heading? Do you know the direction in which you are moving? Are you going around in circles?

Many people spend their whole life moving in circles from one activity to another without any real direction to their life. Often, they are seeking something, especially some meaning, and they use busy-ness and activities to attempt to find what they are seeking. They are looking for a needle in the haystack of a busy life.

You cannot find what you seek by staying too busy to sit and listen to your inner guidance. What you seek is already within you. Are you looking for meaning? Purpose? A Sense of direction? It is all available inside you but you must know how to look for it.

When you keep asking others for their opinion, you indicate to the Universe that you are valuing their opinion above your own. When you keep going to classes, seminars, workshops or getting degree after degree after certification, you indicate that you don’t feel whole within yourself. But these patterns keep you from valuing your own opinion, from finding the wholeness that you seek.

You probably do not need to take one more class, get one more degree or certification, or attend one more seminar to find what you are looking for.

Pause. Breathe. Go inside for guidance and listen to the wisdom that you find there.

Are you feeling that there is nothing there or that you don’t know how to do this? Then ask for guidance from someone who can help you. But be sure that you are asking for help in the process of finding or confirming what you already know within yourself. Be wary of someone from the outside who tries to tell you what to do without checking that it resonates with you on the inside. Pay attention to your own intuition, to your gut feelings.

You are always connected to Source Energy that can guide you if you listen to the wisdom that is in your heart. Remind yourself of this connection and you will feel what you need to know. There is wisdom within you that might have been untapped for your whole life, but it is time now to access that wisdom. You might have had gut feelings before but not been able or willing to trust them. Now is the time to learn to trust.

The world is opening to new ways of operating and, if you are experiencing these words, then you are on the path to learn these new ways. Move ahead. Hold your head high when others question what you are doing. Others do not need to understand your choices. Others may criticize or complain or judge you, but they are not living your life – YOU are. Decide that you will move forward today, even if it feels like a baby step for you. Get out of the comparison game and avoid looking at how others are choosing to live their life, for this has no relevance to you. You came into this lifetime on Planet Earth so that you could have a series of experiences that would promote your Soul’s growth. Bless those experiences and move forward.

What lies ahead for you is glory, joy, peace and happiness. And more lessons because you are alive on Earth at this time. What lies behind you is the sum of experiences that have brought you to this moment in your life. All is as it should be. You CAN move forward. You CAN find your purpose, your meaning, your next step. Seek within and ask for guidance to do this.

And so it is.

MUS-INGS: Be Ready to Course Correct!

Assessing your values is a great way to plan your time, energy and resources. It’s important to look at what is most important and then at your Life to see if your Life reflects that value structure.

But how often do we get pulled off track by what is going on around us? For example, we might think that ‘Family’ is a very high value but all of our time is going to work or sports or entertainment or whatever and what is left over is all we give to our family. We might have so many organizations that we belong to that we don’t have an evening free for ‘date night’ with our partner. We might be working so long and hard that we are too exhausted to call our mother or play a game with the kids. There could be many more examples.

But, you might think, I have to do all those other things. Do you, really? Think about your Life, the one with the capital ‘L.’ Have you fallen into unconscious patterns that SEEM to be the way things must be? Have you examined those ‘musts’ to determine if they really have to be that way? Or was the decision made a long time ago, under different circumstances, that that was the only structure that was possible?

Living a Conscious Life requires us to be mindful at all times about the source of our decisions about our Life. Are we watching the news and making decisions based on some perceived threat? Are we watching changes happen and feeling threatened, fearful, gleefully delighted in someone else’s misfortune, judgmental? Really assess what is going on in you as you listen to reports of current events. How do these events relate to you?

I know that we think we need to proceed along a path that’s been started because we were taught about perseverance and persistence, that good ol’ ‘stick-to-it-iveness’ that was valued. But once we have been set upon a certain course there might be new information that arises, or new circumstances or a different perspective that cause us to re-examine whether that course is still the right one for us or if there might be a better one based on the new insights. Being able to change or course-correct is a sign of living a Conscious Life. Being unable to change or course-correct is a sign of stubbornness.

Now I am not judging anyone here, but if you are not open to the possibility that you might be called to shift where you are going then you are not really living a Conscious Life. Every step you take must be taken with care. Every decision must be based on careful thought. When you are flying an airplane you don’t stubbornly stay on course if there is a huge thunderstorm looming ahead of you, you shift according to the new information that is in front of you. It’s the same with Life.

But on what do you base your decisions? This is where assessing your values can really lead you forward in your life path with confidence that you are basing your choices on what really matters to you, on what is important to your Life and your Purpose.

Don’t be distracted by the news or the stories that you hear. Go inside. Figure out how to make decisions from a place of conscious consideration so that you can have confidence as you move forward. It is important that you learn to be able to course correct when you must but to base that course correction on your values and your inner guidance, not on the external news reports!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: “What Needs to be Restructured in Your Life?”

Dear Ones,

It is time for each of you to decide what it is that you are going to do to assist Mother Earth in the coming transformations that she must undergo. Are you tuned into and aware of the shifts that are happening on Planet Earth at this time?

Many have asked about the energies of 2012, sometimes with fear and trepidation about what is coming. We would tell you that you have nothing to fear. The shifts that are about to happen have already begun in three-dimensional reality. People are starting to feel the shifts even if they don’t know how to talk about them or can’t quite describe what they are feeling. Many people are reacting to the shifts as if they are afraid of what is happening but what they are afraid of is change.

For some the changes coming will be changes in the amount of power they are able to exert over others. These changes require the toppling of some empires that have been built upon the backs of those who toil to support the structure but who are not able to be recompensed at a level commensurate with their contribution. Some structures that have endured for a long time will no longer be able to function as they have because there is more Light entering the world and they operate in darkness.

You will see throughout the times that people and organizations and, indeed, even cities, towns and government structures, will shift in big ways. Some will topple and some will morph into new forms. The cities that are clinging to the ways of darkness will no longer be able to operate. The government structures that do not support all of the people, especially those who have the least power, will become reversed as all people will be finding ’empowerment’ that comes from within, instead of giving over their power to someone external to them.

So what does this mean to you, Dear Ones? You must be the ones who find that your source of empowerment is the Light Within. Get in touch with your Soul’s purpose and live it – today! Ask yourself how your Life reflects the reason you incarnated on Planet Earth in these times.

Many of you are fretting about finances or jobs or relationships, but are you BEING in the fullness of your humanity? Some of you pay attention to the news and are disheartened or disturbed, but the news is the reporting of events with a commentary to try to get you to think a certain way about those events. This is not about YOU.

What is important to you? Have you done a values assessment lately? Do you know what your highest values are and are you prepared to live those? Or are you succumbing to worry about that which is not the most important part of your Life and allowing the important things to diminish in your attention?

Take some time to list the important values in your Life and then look at your schedule to see if you are devoting a proportional amount of time to those high values. Shifting your thinking about this will help you to understand that you are not a victim of events in the news. You are a person of the Light. Shine that Light in your Life on what really matters. The rest will sort itself out according to your personal value structure.

While other entities topple or restructure, the only one over which you have total control is your own Life. Make the choices that support your purpose. Listen to your inner guidance. And if some area of your Life is not what you desire, then make the changes that you can make, firstly in your thinking about where your empowerment is sourced and then in whatever external circumstances that you can change.

This is YOUR Life. Live it in the Light and be the shining Light that radiates from within you!

And So It Is!

MUSE-INGS: “Make sure you are moving TOWARD something!”

We are always avoiding pain but does that give us enough impetus to keep going after the danger or pain is over?  I think of the wealthy people who are motivated by avoiding poverty.  The farther from poverty they get the less motivated they can become to make money and they lose it/go bankrupt.  But then they become motivated to make money again to avoid poverty so they make lots more money.  This is a cycle with people who are motivated to move away from the pain of poverty.

When we follow a pattern of avoiding pain we must be careful to shift our gears to moving toward something instead of always moving away from pain.  Notice that the ‘moving away from’ energy diminishes the farther one gets from pain.  But what takes over?  Where is the motivation after the pain is no longer a problem?

The person who would live a Conscious Life knows what they are moving toward.  There is a desire to expand awareness, to grow in Consciousness, that keeps one motivated to learn more, to experience more, to continue to grow.  There has to be an attachment to that movement forward to carry the person into further growth.  It cannot be only about avoiding pain.

Too many people have been struggling in their lives to ‘keep up with the Joneses’ and so they have struggled to maintain a lifestyle that is not in alignment with their income or life purpose.  These people have been trying to avoid a negative comparison with someone else.  Or they have believed that they are entitled to have whatever their neighbor has and they want to avoid embarrassment.  But living in a way that is based on avoiding the pain of embarrassment does not move one into higher consciousness.  This choice does not expand consciousness or awareness.  It is actually a limiting energy because it is based on a comparison with someone else and a desire to avoid coming up short.

What is your motivation in your daily life?  Are you constantly taking action to avoid pain or do you move toward pleasure?  Might there be a balance that is needed in your life?

Looking at what motivates you can give you some real insights into your own value structure.  If you are constantly avoiding pain without deciding what you are moving toward then examine your value structures to determine what really matters to you and what it is that you desire to bring into your life.

You will not be living your life to the fullest if all you do is make choices to avoid the next pain!

MUSE-INGS: Live Your Values Consciously! by Rosemary Bredeson

It feels as if we are frequently being asked to ask ourselves, “What really matters?”  We get all worked up about something that bothers or frustrates or upsets us.  But if we pause and ask, “What really matters in this situation?” would we get so worked up?

It really does seem as if time is speeding up and that the days no longer have the full 24 hours available to us.  Does it seem that way to you, too?  Whether it’s the Photon Belt or the Earth’s rotation on its axis or some other reason, the FEELING that time is speeding up can lead us to making some decisions about  how to spend the time that we do have.

I know there are many days that I wake up with an expectation of what my to-do list looks like but I seem to get caught up in the drama of the day and often get pulled off that list to take care of someone else’s drama.  I’m sure that has happened to you, too, hasn’t it?  So how do we take back control of our own time?

The first step is to decide what our own values are.  Not what we wish they were or what we think they should be, but what we truly believe our values are, deep in our heart.  I learned some good exercises when I trained in NLP [Neuro-Linguistic Programming] that help to identify the values that our unconscious minds hold and they are often not what we ‘think’ our values are.  How can this be?  Our conscious minds use logic not emotion when coming up with a list of values but our unconscious minds develop the list from our emotional beliefs and understandings, of ourselves and of our lives.  The unconscious mind is focused on surviving the day, based on whatever it believes about our safety and security.  While one’s conscious mind might think that eating healthy foods is a high value, the unconscious mind might be remembering a time when food was scarce and created a desire to eat everything in sight in case there’s no more food to eat later.  One’s conscious mind might think that being with friends is the most important thing to do today while the unconscious mind might be craving some alone time.  The body might respond to this values conflict by creating illness so that the alone time takes precedence over the friend time.

Do you see how this works?  Have you ever experienced this seeming contradiction?  What do you do about it?

Well, as in most things, when living a Conscious Life, the first thing to do is to hit the ‘pause button’ and really look at how time is being spent.  Again, not in how you wish it were but in how it is realistically being devoted to activities.  Keep a time diary, in 15 minute increments, for a few days.  No judgments here, just record, from a curious, non-judgmental and accepting viewpoint.  Do you need more alone time? You might see you are pulling out of social engagements, always having a good reason but maybe it is because you have said ‘yes’ to something that your unconscious mind wanted you to say ‘no’ to.  Are you avoiding being with someone that you think you like but that you seem to have lots of reasons to avoid?  Maybe that person really doesn’t resonate with you but you haven’t yet figured out how to shift things so that you don’t have to spend time with them.

The list can go on and on, but the important thing to realize is that, conscious or unconscious, your values, what really matters to you, is driving your life at some level.  Even if you frequently make choices that contradict the values of your unconscious mind, you will start to find the debilitating nature of illness or accident or drama pointing the way for you to find answers about what you truly value in your life.

Doesn’t it make sense to do the personal growth work so that you can become conscious about your values and the choices that you are making?  Make a commitment to start this work today!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: “Is Yours a Values-Driven Schedule?”

Dear Ones,

It is time. Time for you to get serious about what really matters to you in your life.  Are you being consistent?  Do you say, for example, that family is important to you but do you spend all your time working?  Do you say that your personal growth is important but sports are taking up so much time that you have no time left to work on yourself?  Do you think that taking care of yourself is selfish and so you focus on giving to others until you are totally depleted and have nothing left to give, to others or to yourself?

There are so many ways that your life can reflect choices that do not seem to be consistent with what you believe to be your highest values.  We would tell you that time is speeding up, in ways you probably wouldn’t understand yet, but that you don’t have time to ‘play dumb’ with the time that you have.  In any given day your needs must be met in a shorter period of time than you used to have to focus on yourself.  There are many demands on your time and the days actually do seem to be getting shorter, not just in daylight hours in the Northern Hemisphere!  So let us tell you why it is so important that you take time for yourself, every day.

The Universe and Mother Earth agreed that you were needed on Planet Earth at this very moment.  You agreed to incarnate, under the conditions you chose, to fulfill a mission on Earth during your lifetime.  You agreed with other beings that you would all be on Earth together and that you would assist each other in fulfilling those missions by being the person you agreed to be.

NOW is the moment.  TODAY is the day.  Do you feel that you are being the person you incarnated to be?

When you are focused on urgent and important activities you might allow yourself to get distracted from what really matters to your Inner Being.  Are you so busy that you are not being ‘you’?  Are you so distracted that you are feeling disconnected from your purpose?  These are the signals that you must take control of your choices on a daily basis and line up your energy with your values.

Have you ever examined your values?  Not just what you think you should write on a list that someone else might read, but we are talking here about your deep, essential core values, the ones that drive your life.  Your unconscious mind is operating based on a structure of values that might not match that list you would show to another.  It is a good thing to periodically examine the list that your unconscious mind adheres to.  It is also a good thing to think about what you would like your values to be and to examine your daily expenditures of time to see if they coincide.

Many people slide through their days taking care of urgent things but never getting to the items that feel important to them.  Are you one of these people?

And what value structure are you using to decide what is important?  Is it truly your own or have you adopted someone else’s list without questioning if this is in consonance with your own values?  This is easy to do, especially when you are in relationship with another person or people.  But it is essential that you pause and study how you are spending your time.  Are you giving an amount of time to what really matters that matches its value to you?

Think about these things as you go through your day today.  Who decided what is important for you today?  And how much time do you have for what is really important to you?  Take time for yourself, for apportioning your time according to your values is a sign that you are living a Conscious Life.

And so it is.
