ROSEMARY’S EXPLORATION: Wake Up and Evolve!

I am so glad that you are reading this! It tells me that you are seeking, that you are open to exploring, that you care about ideas and what is happening on the Planet. Congratulations!

Sometimes it is difficult to have a discussion with someone who has closed their mind to new ideas and wants only to reinforce what they already believe. But this person is usually operating out of some fear that controls their thinking and, thus, their life.

Are you that kind of person in some area of your life? Oh, you might wish to think of yourself as broad-minded and open to new ideas, ready to shift your thinking, but what about that relationship in which you are certain that you have formed the correct opinion about the other person? What if you don’t know the whole picture, and, if you did, you would be more sympathetic, more understanding?

Big ideas can be like that. We THINK we know all we need to know about something and then we form an opinion. For many, that opinion then gets set into concrete, never to be brought out for re-examination or re-consideration. These are the ‘don’t confuse me with the facts’ people. Just as you might think you know enough about another person to form a solid opinion, what if they are dealing with cancer, just lost their job or a loved one, are coming from court after losing custody of their children? Would that alter your opinion?

You have many ideas about how the world is that were formed when you were growing up and making decisions about what to believe. You had a little kid’s perspective. You knew what that little kid knew, probably not the whole picture, and you decided to believe something.

This belief might be something like, ‘Daddy yelled at me because my report card isn’t good enough. I’ll never be good enough.’ Or, ‘My sister is the smart one. I can’t get as good a grade as she can.’ There are so many beliefs that are insidious because they live with that little child within who dwells in your unconscious mind. That inner child is making decisions for you in your life, at the unconscious level, based on the belief formed many years ago.

Have you ever planned to do something and then not carried through? How many New Year’s Resolutions have you broken? It’s this belief in your unconscious mind that trips you up.

But, when you really decide to grow, to wake up, to evolve, you can change your beliefs!

If you want to Live Your Richest Life, then you start with shedding anything that is holding you back or blocking you from the path you desire. This starts with the beliefs you hold that might not be true anymore, and, perhaps, were never true.

What if you believed that the Earth was flat? Would you get into a ship and sail across the ocean into that unknown and scary edge of the world? And then what if NASA launched a satellite that took a picture of Earth from Space that showed the blue ball hanging in Space without a flat edge showing at all? Would you take in that new information and change your belief about the Earth and accept that it is round?

This is the basic question about ‘evolve or not.’ If you can be presented with new evidence, if you are open to new ideas, if you are willing to consider that you might have to change your mind based on new data, then would you be willing to have the conversations that might open you up?

Evolution isn’t about the monkeys. It’s really about the Evolution of Human Consciousness. In order to evolve, we must first Wake Up!

Survive or Thrive? – Richard’s Commentary

The Divine Feminine challenge us in Rosemary’s article to make the key choice in this life: we can either scrabble for survival in what many think is a “dog-eat-dog world”; or we can step up and out to live our True Purpose, the reason the Universe supported our birth in this time and space, and thrive!

It really is that simple. And it really is a choice. Here’s how They put it through Rosemary:

Many people on Earth in 21st Century Societies are greedy for what they don’t have – riches, power, control, freedom, pride. These people are distracted from what is really important.

When one seeks to live one’s purpose, one finds that collaboration with others supports thriving in life.

There are the choices: survive or thrive.

Interestingly They do bring up karma, more as a threat than a factor in our choice. They say: Don’t think that you can thrive by pushing someone else to the brink of survival. Those who believe that this is acceptable will learn exactly what the rules of karma are. But doesn’t karma affect our choice, our purpose? Are people merely in survival mode because they have past “debts” to work through?

I am in the middle of asking this very question of myself, working through the process of purging karma, some from my younger days and likely a whole lot from past lives. I am practicing an intense “yoga” in preparation for Kalachakra Initiation, known as Kalachakra Tantra Six Session Yoga composed by the First Panchen Lama. And things are coming up. Some days in the midst of practice I ask myself if I am making any progress, if all this is worth the effort. Can we really purge, burn up, karma? And, is this part of the choice we must make to turn mere survival into thriving?

When I ask the hard questions I am often blessed with answers. Today I received two “replies” to my deepest seeking. The first is from Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. He quotes his guru, Sri Yuktesvar: “Forget the past. The vanished lives of all men are dark with many shames. Human conduct is ever unreliable until man is anchored in the Divine. Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now.”

My second answer came from my Goddess Cards, art by Susan Seddon Boulet and words by Michael Babcock. Today I drew Hathor, a Great Mother Goddess. And here is what Babcock says of her: “Hathor reminds us that we, too, must acknowledge all parts of ourselves, that what we call destructive is sometimes necessary to allow our creativity and compassion to flourish.”

Wow; thank you, Universe! Ask and you shall receive!

I have full permission to step into my purpose and thrive. I will most certainly continue the Six Session Yoga to see what comes up next.

And you, too, have the permission of the Universe, in fact the demand, that you step into your purpose and thrive! The choice is yours!

Stay Happy Through the Holidays – Richard’s Commentary

Today, the holiday festivities all begin with the day we set aside here in the US to give thanks. I’ve been giving thanks, writing notes of gratitude in my “morning pages” this week. I began my thank you notes, giving deep gratitude for my incredible partner, wife and love of my life, Rosemary. And if you have been following our blogs and reading our posts you know what a talented and resourceful woman she is. Her advice for conscious living and spiritual evolution are profound and creative. And her advice for the holidays is no different! She suggests:

The first step to staying happy through the holidays is to do a realistic and honest assessment of this time of year for yourself.

This may sound superficial but do you move into this time of year with a perspective of staying happy? We have all heard the stories of people who are alone, who dread the holidays because they don’t get along with family, who feel bad because they can’t afford to give elaborate or expensive gifts, who party and drink their way through the season. Perspective is an all-important first step to be happy in every moment.

Next Rosemary suggests:

Consider a new way of operating through the holidays this year.

Everyone around you is struggling with their own life lessons. Somehow the holidays come with Hallmark Cards and Norman Rockwell expectations that nobody really experiences. If you put self-care at the top of your agenda, IT IS NOT SELFISH!!!! Let me repeat that – Self-Care is not being self-ish!!!

Self-Care – in other words, give yourself the gift of looking out for you! Attend to your health, prepare wholesome meals for your celebrations, if you drink alcohol moderate your intake, stay warm and especially keep your neck and throat protected and warm, keep moving with yoga or qigong or another body practice, take time to meditate and if you don’t meditate this season is a great time to start, celebrate the special holidays in your tradition – make them Holy, honor everyone you meet as learning their lessons just as you are – they are you!

Compassion begins with yourself. Taking care of you is taking care of everyone. Recall Rosemary’s question in her inspirational video posted Tuesday: “can compassion for yourself equal compassion for them?” She goes on to suggest:

Look at your calendar for the rest of 2013 and decide what you will do for yourself. Rest. Relax. Pamper yourself. Watch movies that make you smile. Hang out with friends or go on a silent retreat.

As we approach the Winter Solstice, one of those special holidays we celebrate, it is a good time to go inside, to do the inner work of deep winter. The Ancients took this time to retreat, to look inward for the coming renewal. Deep inner work is another way to take care of yourself on the personal level and all others on the global level. This is true compassion!

Coming back to Thanksgiving I took Rosemary’s advice and turned inward to give thanks for me. I am grateful for my soul path, my spiritual journey back to myself, I am grateful for the health and strength to make this journey, I am grateful to myself for making the commitment, I honor myself for my discipline and I am grateful for all of the spiritual teachers and guides that hold me in their love and compassion.

Be grateful for yourself! I am grateful for you because I know you are supporting me on my journey.

Have wonderful, blessed and happy holidays!

MUSE-INGS: The New Consciousness and You

Are you ready for the New Consciousness?  Gratitude and Compassion, based on the concept that we are all connected, that none of us operates on the Planet alone.  It is time for us to step up to this concept and to share it widely.

When you feel you are struggling with life, with certain circumstances or situations, with finances or work or relationships, can you have compassion for yourself and your struggles?  Maybe this is where gratitude starts.  Go gently with yourself in your troubles.  Make sure you are not beating yourself up or judging yourself to be ‘not good enough’ or spending your focus on the ‘why me?’ question.  Start by getting yourself into the energy of compassion toward yourself.  Then start looking for something to feel gratitude about.  Move from compassion to gratitude, even if, at first, you can only feel gratitude for the fact that there is a lesson to be learned in this situation, as there is in every situation.

Stay with gratitude.  Don’t let worry or fear or lack creep into you.  Keep gently bringing your focus back to gratitude.  And I’m not talking here about ‘I’m grateful that I’m not worse off or that I don’t have so-and-so’s problems’ – I’m saying find at least one thing that you can be grateful for in your life today.  Think of one person who loves you. Or one whom you love.  Think of the car you drive or the view outside your window or the rain for the flowers or the smile on your child’s face when they hit the baseball.  It doesn’t have to be something grand and it doesn’t have to be the same kind of thing that you’re upset about or missing.

Bring in the energy of gratitude and you bring in what you desire.  It’s pretty simple.  The converse is true, too.  If you cannot find anything about which to feel grateful, then the Universe has trouble connecting you to things that would elicit that energy in you.

I am sitting in my office in our beautiful home in Colorado Springs watching 13 deer cavort in the yard while the sun shines on newly fallen snow.  I am grateful.  For the deer, for the snow that will put the grass to sleep for the winter with extra moisture, for the sunshine that makes this day a bright one.  I am grateful that I am warm and comfortable inside as I work.  And I will soon be with my grandchildren so I am grateful for that opportunity to be ‘Grandma Mimi.’  And am I sad that I am leaving this home for a move across the country?  Not really.  I feel complete with this house and have released it to the next family to enjoy it. I am grateful for the time that this has been our home and I am ready to move on to the next phase of life.

What can you find to bring you into a state of gratitude?  Look around you in this present moment.  What do you see?  If you have been worrying about paying the bills or finding a job or meeting that perfect someone, can you find something that you DO have in your life about which you can feel gratitude?

Now how does this connect with compassion?  I believe we must come from a place of compassion for ourselves and each other so that we connect these energies in all that we do.  No one is disconnected from the energy of the human community, no matter what we might think or want.  When we start with that understanding then our choices in life become easier.  When we learn to have compassion for ourselves we will become more compassionate members of the human community and will have compassion for others.

Think about Compassion and Gratitude in your life this week.  How can you grow in your understanding of both energies? How can you share these energies with others?  Practice both and watch the Universe say, ‘Good for you!’

MYSTIC MESSAGE: from The Divine Feminine: Gratitude and Compassion – the New Consciousness

Dear Ones,

There is no one among you who has not been touched by another human being.  Nor is there anyone who has not touched another person’s life in a positive way. Even if you cannot think at the moment of someone else whose life you have   touched, they are there.

Did you smile at the mail carrier?  Did you help a lost child find their parent in the grocery store?  Did you put money in a charity collection box?  Did you send a birthday card or a thank you card or a sympathy card?

Every act of kindness that you have ever offered has been a touch of positive energy in another person’s life.  And you, too, have been the recipient of kindnesses from many other people.  Who smiled at you?  Complimented you?  Sent you a birthday card?  Bought you a meal?

It is easy to feel gratitude when you allow yourself to focus on what has come to you in your life.  It is easy to feel compassion when you see another’s need and decide to take what action you can to help alleviate that need.  Both of these energies will be needed during the coming times when every human being on Planet Earth will need help from another and will be called upon to help others.

Take time to connect to the feeling of gratitude when a kindness is extended to you.  Remember that energy of gratitude when you are wishing for something else or some other kindness to come to you.  The energy of gratitude is a great magnet to attract that for which you can feel grateful.  Where many people lose their way is in waiting for something to come into their life before they feel the gratitude.  Feel the gratitude first.  Feel grateful that that which you desire exists in the Universe in the form that is in your highest good and will come to you at the perfect time in the perfect manner.  Stay in gratitude rather than in the feeling of lack or wanting.  Trust that you are taken care of, that you have what you need in this very moment.  Feel gratitude for that circumstance that is bringing you lessons you need to learn for your own personal growth.

Does this mean that you must lie to yourself about your feelings if there is something that you are lacking?  No.  But it is your focus and your emotions that you can control.  Are you focusing your energy on that lack?  Are you feeling angry or sad or worried about the lack?  Then you are not in a receptive energy and the lack will be all that you can see.  But if you shift your focus to this present moment, to what you do have, and feel gratitude for what is going on IN THE PRESENT MOMENT, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS, then you are in the energy of receiving and the Universe can answer that energy by bringing to you that which you desire.

Now take this attitude of gratitude and extend it to helping other people.  If you find compassion in your heart, true compassion and not pity, then you will be led to help others.  Be grateful for the opportunity to help other people.  Be grateful for the chance to share from the abundance that you have in your own life, even if you feel that you lack money or resources or food or the perfect mate or the perfect job.  You are breathing the precious air of Mother Earth.  The Sun is in the sky.  You are reading these words.  Find at least one thing to be grateful for and then give from that place of gratitude for the opportunity to give.

This is true compassion. This is what humanity is being called to experience and to share.  The evolution of human consciousness has reached the point where each individual must decide for himself or herself whether or not they are going to operate from the exquisite energy of gratitude and compassion or to choose to isolate themselves from the connection to other human beings and operate as if they live in a vacuum.

When you are faced with the choice, Dear Ones, please choose compassion.  Be a part of the elevation of human consciousness to higher levels than have been around you before.  Lift yourself as you help others and you will be a bigger beneficiary than the people that you help.

Gratitude begets more opportunities to feel grateful.  Think of this as sending thank you cards to the Universe before the gifts arrive!  And compassion begets compassion.  Give and you shall receive.

And so it is.

from The Divine Feminine: “2012 and What You Are Putting into the Collective Consciousness”

Dear Ones,

The world is a changing place. The coming energies of 2012 demand that each individual takes responsibility for his or her own life. No blaming others. No looking to others for rescue or salvation. No giving away of power. Each human being is called to claim their own inner power, no matter what the outside circumstances might indicate. Every individual must find their own voice.

But, and this is a big part of the coming times, each individual must also see that they are a part of a collective whole, that All Are One, for greed is the energetic force that convinces an individual that they are separate from the others. LOVE is the energetic force that calls forth compassion, an energy of compassion that is not born in pity but rather from an understanding that All are Connected in the Whole.

Isolationism will destroy the world if it is born out of greed and lack of compassion. Individuals need each other on a primal, survival level in the 21st Century. Very few people are totally self-sufficient, especially in the Western World, where people rely on methods of transportation that use fuels that deplete the health and vitality of Mother Earth. And yet many individuals are acting as if they are totally independent of all others. This is hypocrisy!

We are not just talking about having food, shelter, transportation and medical care here, but there is a societal factor to the interaction between and among human beings. People need other people. Conversation that uplifts and expands the individuals involved, or that brings nebulous ideas into clearer focus based on the synergy of the discussion is beneficial to all of humanity because of the resultant expansion of the Collective Consciousness.

Every person should see their thoughts, speech and actions as elements affecting the Collective Consciousness. Are you expanding that? Or are your thoughts, speech and actions having a deleterious effect on those around you and, thus, on the Collective Consciousness? What are you putting into this body of consciousness for your grandchildren and great-grandchildren to access in the future?

You have a responsibility to future generations to avoid polluting the Collective Consciousness with negative energy. You have a responsibility to future generations to expand the world view from the tiny perspective based on greed to the expanded one that flows from the energy of Love.

Love cares that other human beings are suffering. Love understands that those who have much are required to share so that all on the planet might live. Love dictates that wars and killing are not the answers that move humanity forward in the evolution of Consciousness. Love teaches that one person’s choice for greed over Love constricts the energy not only of that one person but of all around them. Love is generous in thought, accepting others as they are, sharing from the heart, supporting others along their journey. Love does not judge. Love does not hate. Love does not set oneself up as better than others but seeks to understand and accept differences. Love reaches out to serve not to grab what it can. Love connects one to Source Energy so that miserliness and greed do not resonate and are eliminated.

Each person must now seek this kind of Love, for all worries and concerns are dissipated in the energy of Love. It is greed for what one desires that brings on worries. Surrendering to the flow of Love expands one so much that one’s Life can then encompass that which one desires in one’s heart. This way of Living will shift the Conscious Ones into the next vibration.

And that is the task for every human being now inhabiting Planet Earth.

And So It Is.

MUSE-INGS: Are You Ready for Connection?

When I had that dream a couple of weeks ago, I felt that it was an important one.  Now I see the message.

Our work in the world now is not just to try to avert dangers and disasters, but to choose the response that supports the evolution of the New Human when something does happen.

The Feminine Way is one in which we reach out to help because there is a need.  We treat others as our family.  We dispense with greed and look to what we can do so that all can survive.  This woman’s story shows a village that does just that.  Instead of hoarding there is sharing.  If someone is better off than another, they take the other into their home.

This is the best of humanity.  This happens around the world when there is a crisis.  Neighbors help neighbors.  Strangers help strangers.  People get a clear understanding that we are all one, we are all members of the same family, the Human Family.

So why is there so much greed rampant in our society?  Why do so many people forget that we are all one?  Why the subterfuge, the anger, hatred, judgment, intolerance of others?  And what would all the hate-mongers do if a devastating earthquake or tsunami hit their village?

I wonder.  Maybe this is the time that we can wipe out the separating forces with a tsunami of Love.  What if we decide that we will Love all others, no matter how different they are, no matter what they’ve done?  We will hold ourselves in so much Love that it pours out of us, without judgment or fear or hatred or anger or intolerance.  Maybe we can each commit to the concept of The Feminine Way, saying now, before we are the ones suffering a devastating disaster, that we will respond with Love if something like that happens around us.  Let us prepare ourselves to be a part of a community and a support of that community should the need arise.

My sister works in the disaster response world.  She would tell you to make the preparations that are prudent for everyone to make, whether the disaster be an earthquake, a tsunami, a hurricane, a blizzard, a tornado or just a power outage.  Check out the Red Cross website for info.  Take care of your family and household.  But also be aware that you are a part of the greater community.

If you have a Homeowners’ Association, get them to have a disaster plan.  Is there someone in the neighborhood who is on oxygen and might need a generator?  Are there elderly or babies who might need something that others can offer?  Does someone need dialysis and can’t get gas for their car to get to the appointments?  The Association could learn these things and prepare as a community for whatever might occur.

Thinking outside the box of ‘me, me, me’ enables each individual to grow as the New Human.

Maybe I had that dream as prophecy.  Maybe it was a message to all of us to think about what The Feminine Way really means in our lives.  And maybe it was a wake-up call to all of us to examine the ways in which we feel disconnected from each other so that we can find our way to connection.

Keep praying for the people in Japan and for the healing of all who inhabit our Mother Earth.

ROSEMARY’S DREAM (from the Blog of February 28, 2011)

I am walking through a scene of destruction.  Many women’s bodies are floating in a large pool of water, all face down so that I am looking at their backs.  Off to my right is a woman floating on her back with her mouth open.  She is groaning so I know she is still alive. Other women are tending to her.  I slosh through the water and the floating bodies to the other side and see women standing among the bodies to my left.  There is a woman next to me who is giving away containers of yogurt with different flavorings in them.  She says to eat them because they are the only food we have and we don’t know when ‘they’ will let us have more food.

I know that the men have killed the women.  There are no men in sight at the moment.  I am reluctant to take the yogurt because I am afraid it will give me diarrhea and that I’ll get dehydrated with no assurance that there will be fresh drinking water available.  I decide to forego the yogurt but am impressed with the way the women are taking care of each other.  There seems to be an apocalyptic energy of doom and yet the women are handling things, refusing to be defeated.

____________________________________________

This dream FELT apocalyptic, even prophetic.  But the Divine Feminine refuses to be killed.  They, the Divine Feminine, will prevail precisely because the Feminine Way is to nurture and take care of others as well as self.  Rather than hoarding the yogurt and saying, ‘Mine!’ while protecting it with guns, the women in the dream were sharing what they had and taking care of each other – The Divine Feminine Way to exist in community.
