ROSEMARY’S INSPIRATION: Examine Your Expectations

My video for the week: Examine Your Expectations

PS: I did an interview with BlogTalkRadio program, Explore the Afterlife, the other day. You can listen to the recording here!

EXPLORATION: Where Are You Headed?

Are you headed in the direction of your dreams or do you feel as if you are spinning your wheels and staying in one place?  Or are you marching forward but NOT in the direction of your dreams, hoping to change course eventually and get back on track?

One thing I know about the 21st Century is that Time is speeding up.  The clock still ticks away 24 hours every day but they seem to be passing more quickly than those same 24 hours used to pass.  There is a sense of urgency about doing our work in the World, living our Purpose.  Do you feel it, too?

I think this is why so many people are feeling frustrated with jobs, with situations, with politics, with anything that seems to be stuck in old patterns that are not moving forward.  We are all feeling a drive to manifest our dreams NOW.

This isn’t to advocate impatience but to urge you to examine yourself and your life and to be brutally honest with yourself.  Are you on the path to the realization of your heart’s desires?  Or are you waiting for something to happen to push you along?  Sweet One, the ‘something’ has happened!  It’s time to move!

Some people have pooh-poohed the Big Shift of 2012 because the world didn’t end on December 21, 2012.  Others believe there was a shift of something but they aren’t sure what that ‘something’ is.  Still others are waiting for something else to happen that might take several years to complete.

There’s a bit of truth in each of these beliefs, but here is what’s going on.  The Shift wasn’t about a comet hitting Planet Earth and causing the demise of our physical world and it also wasn’t about some chosen group [everyone thinks that they are in the chosen group and all others are outsiders] didn’t get swept away into some kind of heaven or nirvana.  The Big Shift was a shift in Consciousness, a part of the evolution of human awareness, and it really is a BIG Shift.

As each individual is given the choice of expanding or contracting, of participating in the evolution of Consciousness or ignoring it, then each individual also has a responsibility to move into living their own Life Purpose, the very reason that their Soul incarnated in this lifetime on this planet.  No more excuses.  No more delays.  No more waiting.  The Time is NOW.

Do you know your Purpose?  Are you poised and ready to live it but unsure of the direction you must take?

Look into your heart.  FEEL your heart’s desires.  Learn the direction of your dreams.

Most of our lives are spent answering to others’ expectations of us.  Most of us have not been taught to listen to our inner voice and determine our heart’s desires.  How, then, do we do this?

The first step is to give yourself permission to live your dreams.  You might think that this is easy but there seems to be a little voice that will pop up and undermine your determination to live your dreams.  Have you ever heard it?  ‘Who do you think you are to dream that big?’  ‘You’re not good enough, smart enough, beautiful enough, slim enough, strong enough, etc. to accomplish that.’  ‘Nobody in the family has ever _________ so what makes you think you can do it?’  And on and on.

Do the work to still this voice.  You do have permission to live your dreams.  Your heart’s desires are the messages from your Soul about the direction this lifetime is to take.  Fulfilling your Life Purpose should feel like the realization of a nagging desire to move in a certain direction.  Allow yourself to pursue it.

The second step is to identify your dreams.  Figure it out.  Energize the vision of you stepping into those dreams.

Next, create a plan.  Notice what works to support you and what doesn’t and then adjust your life circumstances to allow the possibility of realizing the dreams you identify.

Take these steps and you’ll have the compass pointed in the right direction.  Let your heart’s desire be True North for your compass and set your course.  Then enjoy the ride!

PS: It’s not too late for your “15 for 50″ call. I’ve extended the offer for a few more days. So,  if your plans are not shaping up as easily or quickly as you’d like, consider a special Compass Call: that’s a quick dive with me into Dimensional Exploration to confirm your direction or choose your next step.   But hurry, it expires soon!

“Writing” a Commentary from Richard

As I’ve written here before one of my practices to seek inner guidance is from The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. In her book she recommends several practices; the key one I’ve adopted is to write 3 pages of “stuff” long-hand, every morning; these are called “morning pages.” I’ve actually been following this practice for many years; I have stacks of notebooks filled with my scrawl! And, no, I don’t get to this practice every single day. And there are stretches of time when I lapse and don’t write for days, even weeks. But I do very much benefit from the practice when I am disciplined in doing it.

I don’t always get to my practice first thing in the morning either; today it was 3:00 pm! But I do know that the day goes much better after I write so I do most days get to my writing position after yoga, qigong and tea in the AM.

I make a ritual of this practice and embed it in other rituals. Rituals are like good habits; they are both comforting and support the discipline. I light a candle on my alter (see my post last week) and I light incense to clear me, the alter, the space and the writing (including my decks of cards for divination). Then I sit cross-legged with a pillow to support the notebook. I also use a nice fountain pen; this is obviously not a requirement but I like fine tools!

I sit and write the three pages straight through. The content is not always noteworthy; in fact it rarely is! This is not the point; Cameron’s point in doing this practice is to clear the mind, clear the clutter from sleep, dreams, any junky thoughts, unprocessed emotions, mental cobwebs that might otherwise get in the way of clearer, more creative writing. Most often my pages begin with a dump of this kind of mind-trash. But I’m finding with the years of practice this often only takes a page or even some days just a few lines. Then I can get down to more meaningful inquiry.

So, I do use these pages to go inside, to meditate through the use of words, to let my mind go and my writing to follow the thoughts as they come. While Rosemary is a clairaudient and a clairvoyant my information comes through word flow; I don’t hear the words or see them, they just seem to form almost of themselves when I am in that clear space of receiving. I wish I could say this happens for me every day! But it does happen often enough to be extremely rewarding.

After I write out my three pages I then draw two cards from two decks of cards, as I’ve written here before. I write a half-page of notes about each card, what I think it means for me and the energies of the day. This fills my fourth page of writing for the day and these paragraphs are always meaningful (I’ve cleared the clutter with the pages). I use a separate, slightly nicer journal to record these divinations; and I use a better pen (more of the ritual).

And some days I am motivated, inspired to write a poem – a third writing practice I use. And on Mondays I’ve begun sharing some of my poems here on the blog.

I’d love to hear from you about your writing practices. What works for you? Have you tried “morning pages”? Please comment!

Meanwhile, “write-on.”

“Tap into Your Inner Guidance” A Commentary from Richard

Rosemary’s Video and “Exploration” this week offer an excellent way to gain insight into our life, the direction our life is taking and even a method of acquiring that guidance, like our GPS systems acquire the satellites to help us navigate along the highways. And she makes it sound so easy, doesn’t she!

Well, for men this isn’t always the easiest thing to do. In Taoist understanding men have a lot of yang energy, active energy to go out and get things done (even if we are unsure of what it is we are to do at times!). Women have a lot of yin, passive energy to go inside, go quite and seek answers to “what is to be done” – and then to be receptive to what comes in the way of guidance. Taoists teach balance and seek balance between yin and yang energies – receiving and acting. And this is the core of Rosemary’s teaching this week.

It’s important to seek this guidance for a number of reasons; the most prominent is to be sure we are on the route of our “Soul Purpose” our raison d’être. Rosemary throws this out as a given…that we know what our Soul Purpose is, and that we seek the inner guidance to assure ourselves we are on the correct path. But sometimes what we have to seek is that Purpose itself!

Do you know your Soul Purpose? Do you know the answer to your “Big Why?”

Perhaps the answer to this question is the first one to seek inside.

In her commentary Rosemary offers a way to go inside and to get the answers to the big questions. Breathe, tune-in, stay quiet and listen. Listen for any answers, signs, symbols, that come up. Assess these. Separate out the ones that seem judgmental, are coming from ego rather than some deeper place. Note the yin approach to this inner inquiry. It often works quite well for men and women alike.

There are also yang approaches to gaining the guidance our soul urges on us. Rosemary has offered to share additional tools in future videos and commentaries. I look forward to these! Meanwhile I’ll share an approach that has worked well for me.

A number of years ago I read The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. I can say that a few books have changed my life; this is one. I follow a practice recommended by Cameron to write out three long-hand pages of text every day, preferably first thing every morning. Cameron calls these “morning pages.” This practice works for me. And it is a way for me to “tap into my inner guidance.” Note the yang, active approach to this method. The guidance comes as I empty my mind and simply write what comes. In a way it is like “following the breath” in meditation practice; I follow my pen…

There are many ways to seek inner guidance. Active, passive, with words, symbols, studying our dreams, following our breath. The key is to first quiet the mind, the ego, to do the listening, active or passive; then to trust the guidance and follow it. And this is why we call it “practice.” It’s a life-long pursuit!

Rosemary offers an incredible and comprehensive approach to this through Scientific Hand Analysis. If you are unsure of your Big Why? check out the details on Rosemary’s Website

MUSE-INGS: Imagine You’re the Dreamer

So much to worry about. So much to do.

How much time each day do you spend worrying about what’s happening and worrying about getting things done? Let’s reassign that time to taking action to move in the direction of your dreams!

It is so easy to fall into the trap of believing that reality is what we see around us. There are people who criticize the dreamers for not facing reality and, yet, I believe that it’s the dreamers who can see what is Real with a capital ‘R.’ Listen to John Lennon’s song, Imagine, again and really listen to the words.

‘You may say I’m a dreamer,
But I’m not the only one.’

We can all be dreamers and we can create THAT Reality.

It starts in your own life. What are your dreams for your life? Are you able to access a place of peace within you that helps you to bring that dream into reality?

Worry doesn’t take us where we want to go. Worry energizes the lack or the thing we fear or something else that hasn’t happened and magnetizes that. What we do instead of worry is to focus on the energy of the dream we have and bring that into our lives by magnetizing what we desire instead of what we don’t want to have. It might seem tricky but it’s simple.

Every time the specter of something you are worrying about arises, sing John Lennon’s song to yourself. Imagine being the dreamer who can imagine something better, something you want to see in your life. Replace the picture or the feeling of the worry with the picture AND the feeling of the dream.

That’s what you do. Replace the picture or the feeling of the worry with the picture AND the feeling of the dream.

Use your own power to energize your own dream. Other people can’t dream for you. Other people work with you to help you manifest your dream. As a mentor I hold the image in front of your face when you forget what your dream is. Find a mentor to do that for you. When the direction of your dream starts to get confused or blurry, have someone else in your life who can turn you back onto the correct road and clear your vision.

And don’t give your power away to anyone who wants to replace your dream, your vision for yourself with their wish for you. Parents, siblings, well-meaning friends and colleagues are looking through the lens of their own fears, beliefs and limitations. They cannot see through your eyes. They do not have the Soul Purpose that you came into the world to manifest so they can only see as far as their own vision can take them.

YOU know your own dream. And if it’s not clear for you, get some help in that clarification. YOU know your Soul Purpose. If you don’t, then have someone help you define it, through scientific hand analysis or some other means.

It’s helpful to have a mentor or coach or counselor to help you to see where you are going and to help you to make sure it is where you want to be going. You don’t have to do it alone. But choose your partner in this very carefully. Make sure it is someone who wants you to go where YOU want to go, not where they want to take you. Ultimately, it is your life and you are the director.

You are also the dreamer. And you’re not the only one.

Dream your life and then take action in the direction of your dream. The Universe will leap to help you manifest that dream.

MUSE-INGS: Bring Your Dreams into Your Now

So much of what we are surrounded by these days seems to draw our attention to what we lack and what we ‘need’ to fill that space of lack. Just watch commercial television for a few minutes and you will be convinced that you ‘need’ that beer to attract the sexy girls, that drug to feel happier, those clothes to feel good about yourself, that cell phone to be ‘cool’ and the list goes on and on.

And then there is the fear-mongering that leads us to be fearful of everything including being ‘not enough.’ We are also told to fear foreclosure, terrorism, the loss of a job, the loss of a relationship, the loss of beauty, etc. How are we supposed to overcome this constant bombardment that tells us to focus on lack?

First, avoid those commercials! We rarely watch commercial TV but saw a lot of commercials during the American football playoff games. In another week we’ll be watching the Super Bowl with its extremely high-priced commercials telling us what we lack. [ I actually love the commercials that are done especially for the Super Bowl as they often tell stories and are very creative, but they do want us to feel that we’re not good enough unless we buy their product.] News broadcasts also seem to want us to focus on the stories with the most sensational happenings which lead us into a focus on what we don’t want. Maybe we should also stay away from the news. [I do.]

So what do you focus on instead? Focus on how you feel, what you do have in your life, and keep yourself in the space of gratitude and action based on living in the present moment. And BE who you were born to be so that you can fulfill your Life Purpose in this lifetime. When you know your WHY and you commit to being who you are, you have a lens through which to view your life that brings into focus the values that lift you up and that help you to choose what you will do in every moment.

Think about your purpose. Do you know your ‘why’? If you’re not sure, then make an effort to identify why you are living this life. Conscious Living is a choice based on a commitment to be awake and aware in every moment and to move toward greater consciousness and personal growth. Knowing your Life Purpose is an important part of Conscious Living.

What are your dreams? Your visions? The Mystic Message is not about giving up your dreams, but about holding them as visions that are with you in the present moment. This is why affirmations are written in present tense rather than in the future. Hold onto your visions as manifested in this blossoming present moment. Your dreams are your dreams NOW and if you focus on the dream as present in a ‘becoming reality’ sense then you are attaching the energy of presence to the dream rather than the energy of lack of the unmaterialized dream living in a nebulous future. Hold that dream in your own space so that it is not ‘the stick’s length’ away from you, which is where it will stay just like the carrot.

Be who you are. Commit to living your Life Purpose. Hold your dreams in the present moment. All of your energy can be focused on now and so can your joy.

MUSE-INGS: Dreams and Visions and Goals, Oh My!

Where do you stand in the realization of your dreams? Do you create visions and goals for yourself? Are you a New Year’s Resolution fan, but have you abandoned them by February?

There is not much in our culture that supports our desire to live our dreams. Kids are taught ‘It’s just a dream’ when they come to Mommy or Daddy after their night visions. But many indigenous cultures believe that Dreamtime is Reality and what we call reality is a collective illusion. If that is true, then we can dream a new reality into existence.

Do you take time to dream? Back when I was a programmer, in the ancient days of room sized computers, there was a designer who used to sit at his desk with nothing on it except his feet while he stared off into space. Everyone knew not to disturb Bob when he was sitting this way because he was thinking through the program he was working on, essentially dreaming it into existence. The boss would just walk by his office, not bothering to stop in but also not judging Bob as not working just because he wasn’t writing or typing. Eventually, Bob would whip out the program in record time and it was always almost perfect the first time it ran. He created it first in his mind and then he manifested it in the computer. It was a very elegant programming style!

I often find myself so ‘busy’ that I don’t take time to just dream. I have to program that time into my calendar so that I can be as creative as possible. If I am constantly focusing on fixing problems I am energizing problems. If I am always looking at the details I am missing the information available about the big picture. And, conversely, if I create the dreams but do not take any action to realize them then they are not energized and dissipate like vapor in the wind.

Have you ever done a vision board? You cut out pictures and words from magazines and glue them to posterboard, then post this in front of your desk so that you can energize what you have desired and created as a vision for your life. Many people have realized exactly what is on their vision board. My friend is doing a workshop wherein he will help people to create a digital vision board so that it can be their computer wallpaper or screensaver they can keep it in front of themselves while modifying it as circumstances warrant. There are many ways, such as, video, to create a vision for your life.

Why not try one this week for yourself? Take some time alone [you don’t want anyone else’s energy or dreams or visions to influence you] and let yourself dream your future. What would you love to see in your life in the next year? Picture yourself a year from now [or 6 months or 3 years, whatever feels right for you] looking back and describing what has come into your life. Speak to yourself in the present tense of already having this in your life. Feel the energy of having your dreams come true. Welcome with gratitude those dreams.

You don’t have to create the vision board but it’s a powerful tool. The important thing to do is to create the vision! Even if you are not a visual person, create the feeling of having that dream in your life and allow yourself to be emotionally and mentally in that place of acceptance of your dream come true.

Let’s all support each other in realizing our dreams. Next time you meet someone, instead of asking them, ‘What do you do?’ ask instead, ‘What do you dream for yourself?’ You might be surprised by the answers you receive!

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Dream the Fulfillment of Your Life Purpose!

Dear Ones,

What kind of planner are you? Do you write out specific goals and work doggedly to achieve them? Or do you have an idea and then ‘go with the flow’ to see where you end up? Do you share your goals and dreams with others or do you hold them as secrets inside yourself? What are your visions for yourself, your life?

Many people spend a lot of time lamenting what they have or don’t have in their lives when, if they spent the same energy thinking about what they want to have they could actually be moving in the direction of manifesting that in their life. This is the only useful aspect to developing dreams, visions and goals for any aspect of your life.

If you wish to lose weight, for example, yet spend all of your time thinking about how you don’t weigh the amount you wish you weighed, then you will always be striving for something that is distant from you. If you wish you had more money in your bank account you will be energizing the amount that is there [or not there] without energizing manifesting energy for what you want to have there. If you are constantly talking about wishing you had a relationship/job/business/friend//car/whatever that is not in your life at the moment then you are energizing the lack thereof.

Some people do not have dreams and visions for themselves. Or, if they do, they are nebulous and far away. We wish you to change that for yourself.

But don’t write down goals and then beat yourself up if you do not achieve those goals. Dreams and visions and goals should be constantly reassessed as new information and circumstances arise. The first step is to create the dreams and visions and goals that are in alignment with your Life Purpose.

Do you know your Life Purpose? Do you have a plan for achieving this? Have you examined the dreams you have for your life to check their alignment with your Life Purpose? This is the work of the world today.

Many are focused simply on what they are lacking: money, food, a home, a job. And there are many who are existing without these things. What if your Life Purpose were to make a lot of money so that you could support those who are needing help? Others need an education so that they can be self-sufficient but they do not have access to the education they believe they need. Are you an educator?

Sometimes dreams can intersect. For example, if you are one who dreams of owning a business and someone else who has a dream of selling their business, there could be a match up of dreams that would benefit both parties. But if you are constantly energizing the lack of the business you wish to own, and/or they are constantly energizing the lack of a buyer for their business, you could both miss an opportunity to realize a dream.

Do you see how this works? Create the dream, the vision for yourself and your life. Energize that dream by joining with it emotionally and mentally. Believe that that dream is realized somewhere in the Universe and you are getting closer to arriving at that dream. Welcome the dream. Be grateful for the manifestation of that dream. Feel what it feels like to be in perfect alignment with a dream you can realize. Stay in gratitude and see the dream as present in your own reality within the Universe.

And believe that all the resources that you need to realize that dream, like the person who wishes to help you achieve your dream while they achieve theirs, are actually present right now, ready for you to accept those resources and enjoy the dream.

Dream yourself into your success TODAY!!!

And so it is.

MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Are You Feeling Stuck in the Darkness?

Dear Ones,

We wish to speak to you today of reaching into your heart to find the Light Within.

There is too much darkness in the world today and the dark thoughts of economic issues, wars, division, uprisings and fear of the future are fueling the growth of this darkness.  There must be a shift to thoughts of Light.  Each individual is personally responsible for bringing about this shift — first, within the self and then into the outer world.

Many people do not have any idea about how to create the shift from darkness to Light so those that do know how to do this must become teachers for the others.  The best way to teach this is to model this in your own Life.

Do you catch yourself grabbing onto and holding thoughts of doom and gloom or darkness and fear?  Do you find it difficult to make the shift to thoughts of hope and optimism and dreams and visions of Light?

Here is a technique to use when you find yourself stuck in ‘dark thinking.’

First, become clear that the darkness is in your mind because you have attached meaning to a thought or belief that has a low vibration to it.  Your mind has become fixated on that thought and has generated darkness at that low vibration in all your cells for the mind exists in every cell of your body.  Then you must give yourself another thought of a higher vibration — of Light, positive energy, Love.

Now we realize that when things seem to be at their darkest it might seem too difficult to find a thought of a higher vibration.  This is why you must first understand that the darkness is the RESULT of your attaching yourself to a low-vibration thought, idea or feeling.  The thoughts, ideas and feelings might arise of their own accord or be planted in your consciousness by outside forces (such as the media or negative-thinking people).  But you have the power to decide whether you will attach yourself to these low vibrations or you will find a higher vibration to which you can lift yourself.

When you decide to lift your vibration, you can use visualization to imagine that you are washed in a higher vibration Light that permeates your cells and that does, indeed, lift your vibrational frequency.  For some, the use of a golden-colored Light works best.  Others use their intuition to choose the color that they need in the moment and visualize that color flowing into and through them to lift their vibration.

There is a new energy center developing in conscious human beings between the heart center and the throat center.  This is the Heart-Mind Center and its color is a beautiful clear blue-green like the tropical seas.  Visualize this color throughout your body so that you can use your Heart-Mind to shift into a new way of thinking, a new consciousness.

This is the vibration of the changes in consciousness with the 2012 shift.  Claim this for yourself by bringing your personal vibrational level up to the frequency of this blue-green.

Feel how good the Light of Hope, Peace, Joy feels as it banishes the darkness.

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: You Choose!

Seems this message keeps popping up, doesn’t it?  ‘You are always at choice in your life.’

I used to argue with the Universe about this one.  ‘But what about [fill in the blank] where I don’t feel I had any choice?’  The answer always seemed to have been, ‘You could have chosen to do nothing. You felt that you had to make a choice because you didn’t like the consequences of not choosing or of choosing other options.’  That was correct.

So how in your life today are you making a choice that you don’t realize is a choice?  Look first at those things that you feel are ‘givens’ in your life, the things that feel as if they can never be different.  So often these are the places where we must begin to reclaim our power by observing the ways in which we take away our own ability to choose by refusing to see that we have an ability to make a choice.

Often the most powerful moments in a coaching session come when the client begins to see that they actually have a choice in a situation in which they were feeling trapped, believing that there was no choice other than the one they had made.  Opening up to the possibility that you have chosen something, that decisions you have made along the way have brought you to this moment, does not have to feel like a criticism or a judgment – it is really just an observation.  And it is an empowering observation.

Are you in a job that is not satisfying?  Didn’t you make the choice to accept that job?

Are you in a marriage that is not fulfilling?  Didn’t you choose to marry that person?

The list goes on, and what matters is not that you beat yourself up for making that choice, but that you see there are choices now that you can make to change things.  If you believe that you cannot leave your marriage, then you must realize that there are reasons that you are choosing to stay but that you CAN leave, you just choose not to [perhaps for some very good reasons, but you still have a choice].  Do you feel that you cannot leave your job because there are no jobs out there?  You CAN leave your job but you might like the paycheck more than the uncertainty of finding another job.

Owning your power to choose can make a huge difference in living a conscious life.  When you view your life as filled with choice, then you become empowered to grow, to move forward, to reach for your dreams.  If you continue to view yourself as the victim then you are stopped dead in the water, unable to muster the energy or the power to direct your path forward toward your dreams.

Which way do you choose to live?  Choose to be a victim and stay stuck or choose to see yourself as empowered to make choices and move in the direction of your dreams.  It really is up to you.

I remember a time when I was just old enough for my parents to leave me at home alone.  The family was going to visit grandparents and I wanted to stay home alone.  My parents allowed me to make that choice.  But as soon as they pulled away from the curb, I wished I had gone with them.  I think I was exercising the right to choose without thinking about what the consequences of that choice might be.  I was suddenly lonely.  But I had made my choice.  And I made a different choice the next time based on what I learned, the feedback I received after that first choice.

This is the cycle that is empowering.  Make a choice. Notice the results of that choice.  Analyze the feedback and decide to continue making that choice or to make a new choice.

You can change your life but only when you realize that you are able to make choices.
