So if ‘there was no hit-or-miss’ in bringing you into existence, then it makes sense that you need to figure out why you are here, who you are here to be.  [The wisdom in Scientific Hand Analysis is why I have studied this tool to use to help people figure out that ‘who.’]  

MUSE-INGS: “Just BE Who You Are!”

Be true to who you are.  Be your authentic self.  Just be you.

Does that concept confuse you?  Who ARE you, really?  Do you know?

It seems that we are supposed to know easily just who we are.  We can define the roles that we play: wife, mother, sister, grandmother, teacher, student, friend, etc.  But, does that really address who we are inside?  Who we were born to be in the Universe’s great scheme of things?  I think not.

So how do you answer the question of ‘Who are you, really?’

Try right now, for a few minutes, to come up with a good answer for that.  Don’t answer with what your roles are, or what your job is, or what your task for the day is, but really examine your inner being for some guidance here.  You are, of course, all of those roles, and all of the jobs and tasks, but there is something behind all of that that is very important for you to discover.

Who are you, really?

If you play with that idea, and catch yourself defining yourself by external measurements, then you will, at some point, start to get deeper answers that become more meaningful to you.  Are you hearing something about being a Being of Light?  Are you a Beacon?  Are you a Touchstone for others?  Are you a Giver?  A Listener?  A Timeless Spirit with a Gift to Share?  Who are you, really?

The possibilities are endless but they are not the same as ‘wife, mother, teacher, sister, etc.’ are they?

Bring your attention to how it feels as you explore who you really are.  Are you feeling confused?  Frustrated?  Angry?  Elated?  What are you feeling?  This will give you a clue about how close you are coming to the true answer to the question.

For many people, the answer to ‘Who am I?’ brings with it a feeling of the immense size of that answer.  And with that feeling of immensity comes the doubting energy that says, ‘Who do you think you are to be something that big?’  Am I right?  Did you hear that voice or something like it?  Well, let me tell you that that is not the voice of your inner self assisting you in accessing your authenticity, for who are you NOT to be that big?

The Universe and Mother Earth conspired to have you exist on this Planet at this time for the purpose of assisting the unfolding of the Universe’s Grand Plan.  You must step into your power, be the ‘who’ that you were born to be, so that you can fulfill your part in this Plan.  Who do you think you are to deny the Universe and Mother Earth your participation in this unfolding Grand Plan?  Aha, we have you there, right?

Thinking small and playing small do not serve you or anyone else.  Be the person you were born to be.  And do not worry about what you are to do.  ‘Being’ is more important than ‘doing.’  The ‘doing’ must follow from the ‘being’ who you are.

And Joy, a deep, abiding, inner sense of Joy, is the promised reward.

You CAN, however, appreciate or love or understand when you reach out to others. Remember that you attract that which you put out into the Universe. So if you want a relationship where the other person is seeing you as you wish to be seen, then you must first make the effort to see them through a clear lens that allows them to be who they are. Your efforts will improve all your relationships.

MUSE-INGS: Clean the Lens or Change the Prescription!

Relationships. Always a challenge. Always an opportunity. Always a potential source of joy.

Sometimes we think immediately of an intimate or love relationship when we hear the word, but we are in relationships with others whether they be long term, intimate or just the person who is the cashier at the grocery store. Do you think of relationships in this way?

When a grocery cashier seems to be having a bad day or appears grumpy, what is your reaction? Do you get grumpy in response or do you get understanding and sympathetic? When your child is angry and upset and possibly screaming at you, do you react in kind or do you try to look at things from their perspective? When your partner has upset you, are you in reactive mode or thoughtful mode to see what you are really feeling and which lens you are looking through?

I was working with a client recently and received this guidance for her: Give yourself permission to have the reaction but choose the best response. You don’t have to follow through with the reaction. You have options to respond a different way. It can be easy to keep going with the initial knee-jerk reaction but when you are living a Conscious Life you hit the pause button, notice the reaction but choose the appropriate response.

For example, those of us who are helpers tend to jump to help another when we perceive the need. But is this the best response? Are we looking through our own lens and not allowing them to have theirs? Our reaction might be to jump in and help but perhaps the best response is to support them in finding their own solution.

Or someone might be angry and our immediate reaction is to feel that they are angry at us. They might not even be noticing us at the time but we react to their anger without pausing to see if that is the best response for us to choose at the time. Maybe our Dad hit us when he was angry and the little child in us is afraid that will happen again whenever we are around anger. Or we had a lover once who shouted angrily just before they stormed out of the door, never to be seen again, and we are reacting with our fear of being abandoned again.

There is always so much more going on in any relationship than meets the eye at the surface of things. Allow yourself the freedom to take time to notice where you are in your own feelings as you relate to others. Are YOU having a bad day and the grocery cashier being slow allows you to vent your feelings on them? Is your partner really upsetting you or are you already upset about something and they are merely triggering your reaction?

Be conscious of your feelings. If you need to, then practice going inside to assess what is true for you in this present moment. Your lens has been created by all of your life experiences and it exists at an unconscious level within you. It’s not something that you can access through analysis or your mind. You must learn to feel your feelings and to express them appropriately. But this can only happen if you take time to do the inner work, uncover what exists at the unconscious level and bring it into your awareness.

The most important relationship you have is the one with yourself. Are you looking at yourself through a harsh, judgmental lens, created from your past experiences? Or is your lens foggy with misconceptions or blurry images that you haven’t taken the time to examine and clear up? Maybe the place to start is to work on this internal relationship first. Then you can change the prescription on your lens and see all your other relationships in a new light!

The more conscious we become the faster we can catch ourselves feeling something negative so we can correct our focus. Think of yourself as always on the lookout for the way to feel happier. What thoughts can you shift so that you are feeling Love, spreading Love and feeling happier in this moment?

MUSE-INGS: “It’s Time to Shift for 2012!”

Everyone seems to have questions about 2012 and there are confusing sources of answers about what is coming. Let’s talk about what our responsibility is in the coming days.

Each individual is being called to their higher purpose and it is time to lift our heads up out of the sand, metaphorically, or at least out of the confusion of our physical lives, and look to the horizon of Life on Planet Earth. We have been humans on Earth for millennia. We have been growing and learning with the passage of each year. Sometimes societies have dropped back a bit in their evolution of Consciousness [they were, after all, called ‘The Dark Ages’] but there have always been people who are exploring the boundaries, reaching beyond the limits as generally understood, and seeing into the possibilities that exist.

And there have always been those who hold back, who love the status quo or are so afraid of change that they prefer to stay stuck where they are even if it is uncomfortable. Some of these have created a deity of gold, money and power. Some others have given away their personal power and cower in their feelings of helplessness and victimhood. Some people have hidden behind religions or ideologies or politics or movements and choose not to examine their personal responsibility within the context of an organization to which they belong. And some people have decided that their primary motivation is greed and that this world is a dog-eat-dog world so they must amass what fortune they can so that whatever happens in the future the money in their mattress will lift them up above all the others on the Planet.

Guess what? What’s coming is a shift in Consciousness, a lifting of the vibrational frequency of our Mother, the Earth. Money in the mattress has no bearing on what is coming. But fear of lack will hold you back from the evolution that lifts you into higher Consciousness.

Are you listening to economic reports and getting fearful? Are you worrying about paying your bills? Are you despairing of attaining your dreams because you see money slipping away from you? Stop this!

Dream your dreams. My business card is really a quote card with this thought that I penned on the front of it: ‘Always reach beyond what you can see – your Big Dream is there!’ If your finances aren’t what you would wish, shift your thinking. Everything that is happening in your life began as a thought. That thought was processed through your belief system. And your actions follow that. Do you believe that you can achieve your dreams? Do you care?

So now move beyond the circumstances of today in your life and look at life around you. Notice the sentence in the Mystic Message about greed: ‘It is greed for what one desires that brings on worries.’ LOVE your dreams into existence. Do not try to grab what you can. ALLOW your desires to be fulfilled. Stay at the vibration of your dreams.

Does this mean you can just sit and visualize without taking action? No. Remember: your thoughts are processed through your belief system and your actions follow. Thoughts without actions do not materialize your dreams. Unconscious, unexamined belief structures within us can block the realization of our dreams. Work at all three levels of your existence.

What thoughts are you inserting into the Collective Consciousness? Are you aware of your thoughts? When you speak, are you conscious of the words, emotions, meaning of what you are saying? What are you putting out there for your grandchildren and great-grandchildren to access?

Have you worked to identify your belief structures, the system of beliefs under which you operate, consciously AND unconsciously? In my work with private clients we spend most of our time identifying what is going on unconsciously so that they can make conscious choices about the actions they will take. It is difficult to access what is going on at the unconscious level without a guide to help you. And this is very important work if you are going to lift your vibration to the level of your dreams from the physical problem level.

And then you must determine the actions that you will be taking. This is where learning to connect with your inner guidance and wisdom will help you to expand the possibilities for you to choose from when you decide on an action to take.

Alignment with your purpose, clearing away negative thoughts and limiting beliefs, and deciding on actions from an expanded source of possibilities – this is how the Conscious Human lives into 2012. There’s no other way to shift into that higher vibration.

The Abraham material teaches a lot about emotions and the Law of Attraction. If you are feeling upset then you will attract more of that feeling even if you try to think a positive thought. It might be an easier path for you to think of something that causes you to feel good, happy, prosperous, abundant, free and then to bring into your consciousness what you desire so that you can link the feeling to the desire and thus create a more powerful magnet.

MUSE-INGS: “I Choose Thoughts of Abundance, Prosperity and Freedom!”

Seems that money or the lack thereof is the topic du jour for a lot of us. I appreciate this message with a specific way to address our thoughts, especially if they are tripping us up. How many times did the words ‘abundance, prosperity and freedom’ appear in the Mystic Message? I like the idea of focusing on these concepts and how it feels to experience them instead of how much money is lacking or needed. Money seems to drain energy when it is thought about only as something that is needed and does not exist.

Money does exist. We won’t get into economics and policy here, but money is around. We spend so much time thinking about it but it is really just something used in an exchange for products or services. Money is not the same as abundance, prosperity or freedom, but we sure think it is, don’t we?

We have a friend who is divesting himself of most of his ‘things’ and he is experiencing a great deal of freedom, thinking about where he will rent a room so that he can do more volunteer work and meet more people. Another friend has rented out his own place to move into New York City to experience life there and to get his new business off the ground in a more fertile area than where he lived before.

And we are doing something similar, selling our house in Colorado Springs and moving into a rental near our family, letting go of a lot of the stuff we’ve accumulated over our 30 years together, including furniture. We’re simplifying.

With simplification comes a certain amount of freedom. With renting comes a freedom from worrying about the next repair and how much it will cost [it’s the landlord’s problem!]. With a move to be near family we will experience an abundance of joy at being able to participate more fully in the lives of our grandchildren and other family members. When our house in Colorado and our mountain property are sold we will have no more mortgages to pay each month.

Instead of thinking about the bills that need to be paid and whether or not there is money to pay them, we can shift our thinking to how free we will be as we move forward on our path. I think it is very important to note how the connection between our thoughts and our experience brings about what we focus on.

It is easy to focus on not having enough money. It is easy to say/think, ‘I can’t afford that.’ But notice that the guidance in the Message is very specific: shift that thought to ‘I am choosing to do something else.’ Maybe it seems difficult at first to shift your thinking but here’s one example: ‘I choose to pay for those things that I have already enjoyed in my life rather than to purchase something new at this time.’ This gets you into the emotion of gratitude for the fun you have already had as you anticipate having fun in the future and out of the ‘woe is me! I can’t afford to do that new thing’ mode of thinking. Freedom! And an appreciation for the abundance that has already shown up in your life. This will magnetize and attract more freedom and abundance in your life.

And all you did was reframe one thought into attracting that which you desire to come into your life!

When you learn this principle from The Law of Attraction you understand how important it is to remove the fears, the limiting beliefs, the negative thinking that might haunt you. What you really want your energy to be projecting is the vibration of that which you desire to bring into your life.

 

 

MUSE-INGS: Clear the Path to Your Richest Life!

Clear the Fear. That might seem like a tall order for us in these turbulent times. But it really is key to living a Conscious Life.

The exercise we’ve been given, to create those lists and examine what is in our Life at the moment, and what is not, can have a profound impact on how we proceed with our Life.

Think about what you have been doing today. What is on your to-do list? Do you have activities that reflect your values and their priorities or are you afraid something will happen if you don’t get your whole to-do list done today? Is today one of the days where you would claim that you are living your richest life because of the choices that you have made? Who are you on your to-be list today? Did you even consider the question, ‘Who am I to BE today?’ when you planned out your time?

Is today your ideal day? Yes? Then congratulations! No? Then ask yourself why you aren’t living your richest life today. Did you answer with the list of ‘musts’ and ‘shoulds’ and ‘have tos’ that most of us consider when planning how to spend our time? And the next question is, ‘Whose agenda am I fulfilling here?’ Oftentimes the answer to that question leads to the source of our fears around how we spend our time. Married couples are often choosing to jump to the tune their partner is playing without pausing to consider if that is what they feel is important to them in the moment. An employee might allow interruption after interruption to occur in their day at work because they are afraid of losing their job. An adult might still be hearing the voice of a parent from long ago directing their activities and their priorities and fear the loss of approval. There are plenty of answers to whose voice might be in one’s head at any given time.

So if today has not yet played out to be your ideal day, then PAUSE, take a breath, and check with your inner guidance about what you really want to be doing with the precious 24 hours we call ‘Today.’ What really feels as if it’s the top priority for you today? If the answer is, ‘self-care,’ then are you willing to take some time for yourself today? If it’s, ‘spend time with the family’ are you willing to move something to tomorrow’s to-do list so that you can relax and connect with your family members? If it’s ‘take time to dream’ are you willing to do that?

This exercise takes some practice to master. We hear the voices or feel the compulsion and we think it is just what we are supposed to do. But really examining the source, being honest with ourselves about our fears [loss of love, loss of approval, loss of job, for example] will help us to become more conscious of what it is that we CAN control in our lives.

If you are living a reactive life, then you have given away some of your power to others or to the circumstances. It can be your limiting beliefs about yourself that keep you jumping to the tune of someone else’s song. I often find that clients I am working with think we need to develop their business plan or work on the design of their workshop, when the first work we have to do is clear the blocks, remove whatever is holding them back from their excellence, so that they can be free to examine new possibilities. The business plan or workshop flows easily when the way is clear of fear.

Clear the limiting beliefs that cause the fears. Remove the distortions that cloud your view of the possibilities for your life. This is the Life YOU are leading. Make sure you are very clear about making this your Richest Life!
