How are you writing the story of your Life? Think about your Life Purpose as the punchline!

Muse-ings: Time is speeding up — figure out your Life Purpose Now!

It always seems that a discussion of one’s Life Purpose brings some emotions into play that relate to the enormity of that purpose. It’s called ‘stepping out in a big way.’

Our spirit knows why we have come onto the planet at this time and our whole life is focused on accomplishing that Life Purpose. I’ve heard this called our ‘Big Why.’ What is YOUR ‘Big Why’? Have you given this much thought?

There are many systems for self knowledge that all try to point you in the direction of your purpose but it’s so easy to get derailed because we feel inadequate to accomplish something that big. We think, ‘Who am I to think I have a mission that important or that big?’ Or we think that ‘Someday I will do that work but now I must focus on [making money, taking care of my family, pursuing my education, etc.].’

This week’s Mystic Message seems to want us to develop a sense of urgency around this. ‘Time is speeding up.’ There might not be the leisure of extra time to delay the manifesting of our Life Purpose. What are we waiting for?

That is the important question: What are we waiting for?

NOW is the time to learn what your Life Purpose is so that you can be about the business of living that Purpose. What have you done so far to discover this?

I have worked with many clients who wish to have this question answered for them and their guides have offered clarification for them. For some the answer comes through scientific hand analysis because the messages contained in the patterns of our hands are unique to us and to our purpose in being on the planet. It has been fascinating to study this technique of determining one’s Life Purpose and then to see how often what is revealed in a hand reading is just a confirmation of what the person has been feeling/thinking/wanting to do. Our inner spirit KNOWS why we are here, if we take the time and make the effort to listen to the wisdom.

What have you done lately to check that you are on the path of personal growth in the direction you must go to fulfill your Life Purpose? Are you struggling with the question of why you are here?

There are many ways that you can determine the answer to this question and most don’t require that you sit on top of a mountain in the Himalayas and ponder this for years!

Meditate on the questions you have about your life. Journal about these questions and tap into your inner wisdom to receive answers. Talk about this deep subject with trusted advisors. Have a reading with someone you trust to help you see what you cannot see or confirm what you are feeling. Think about scheduling a scientific hand analysis session so that you can start to learn about the messages that are right at your fingertips!

Whatever path you choose, do explore this topic for yourself, especially if you feel that there is something missing in your life, something more for you to be/do. Remember that ‘time is speeding up’!

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. – Albert Einstein”Sam HornClick to Look Inside (c) Rosemary Bredeson The Scientific Mystic(tm) 2011

It’s always good to keep questioning ourselves and where we are plus where we are going. ‘Is this upstream or downstream?’ is a good question to ask. The corollary is, ‘Is this aligning with my energy or draining it?’

Are you good at asking yourself questions? Do you take time to listen to your answers? Practice!

Muse-ings: Change your thoughts and your world will change.

One concept that has really helped me is to use the analogy of paddling a canoe upstream versus allowing it to float along downstream being carried by the current of the river. How often do you feel as if you are paddling as hard as you can and yet getting nowhere? How hard do you paddle to keep bucking the tide and move upstream?

The real jailer here is the thinking that we do to arrive at impasses keeping us paddling upstream. What belief do you have in a given moment that keeps you struggling when, if you simply change that belief you could relax and float downstream with the current? Determining what this belief is and then doing something about changing that belief can bring a huge relief to you.

Working with beliefs and restrictive thinking I have seen many people turn around their lives just by deciding to believe something different about their situation. Sometimes it is a simple thought and sometimes it is a complex block, but once it is identified and cleared a person really can relax more.

Why is this so important? Because personal growth work is the most important work that you can do at this time. EVERYTHING in your life has the potential to improve if you are engaging in deep personal growth work – your business/career, your relationships, your life. Everything. This is why coaching is so important at this time as we navigate our way through complexities of personal growth work. But nothing is as rewarding as this work.

Many people don’t realize that doing their inner work is the best way to parent their children, but working on yourself allows your kids to be in a process of growth themselves, rather than thinking that, at some point, they will arrive at adulthood and no longer need to learn and to grow. Of course, engaging in improving yourself allows all your relationships to improve, especially your primary partnership. And no one in business or a career with a corporate entity can grow their business or build their career without doing a great deal of personal growth work. No matter what your situation is, doing the work to develop yourself and to maximize your personal growth will pay off in big ways in your work success.

Entrepreneurs know that, while they might love their business, setting off on this path is not all a bed of rose petals – some times there are thorns thrown in there! The path to success for the entrepreneur is through the doorway of personal growth. The entrepreneur who works on his/her own inner work paves the way for the business to grow without the restraints of one’s own limiting beliefs and negative thinking.

It’s easy to get started along this path of personal growth. It is usually preferable to have a guide, mentor, counselor or coach to help you along the way. Sometimes it just takes a nudge from a person who has a slightly different perspective to get us moving in the most important direction. The first session with a trusted adviser can get us started on the right track to really blossom.

If you are a person who doesn’t resonate with the notion of ‘vibratory frequencies’ then understand that, as we are all energy, we have our own personal ‘hum’ that is the frequency of YOU. I have a friend who is blind and she can sense who you are from the energy she feels when you approach her. And haven’t we all encountered so-called ‘energy vampires’ who suck the very energy out of us by their negativity or disconcerting energy frequencies?

Pay attention to energy this week. How do you feel? Are you feeling comfortable and compatible with your surroundings – at home, at work, in the mall or grocery store, around other people? Just notice. And notice, too, how you feel when you get back home to your ‘sanctuary.’ If you feel a difference, then examine where your energy feels the highest and do what it takes so that you can spend more time there.

Energy can be an interesting topic to explore but you know what you feel. Maybe you can do a bit of journaling about the energies you encounter this week. And record the times you had to step away from a person, a place or a thing. You’ll see lots of good information about yourself in this journal!

BOOK LIGHTS: from “The Universe is a Green Dragon: A Cosmic Creation Story” by Brian Swimme

“Only by establishing ourselves within the unfolding cosmos as a whole can we begin to discover the meaning and significance of ordinary things.”

from The Universe is a Green Dragon:
A Cosmic Creation Story
by Brian Swimme

Think of yourself ‘within the unfolding cosmos,’ an even larger perspective than as an Earthling.  What happens to your choices when you fit yourself into the larger picture?  It’s good to widen our view beyond the little perspective of our immediate environment.  And you are important in the grand scheme of things!

MUSE-INGS: “Are you an Earthling?”

If you’re a Trekkie (Star Trek fan) then you remember that the Federation of Planets treated everyone from Earth as one race within the Universe of many.  I’ve always liked that concept of “we’re all Earthlings” and think the world would be a better place if we all embraced that thought.  Do you remember seeing the Blue Planet from space for the first time?  When NASA showed us what we look like from space I remember being so impressed that there weren’t any lines on the Planet the way there were on a globe and we looked like one big happy planet full of folks rather than distinct groups divided by arbitrary political lines.

The only lines of demarcation that were evident from space were those created by deforestation by one country that created a boundary line with another that had maintained the forests on their side of the border.  Human-created boundaries, not a natural feature of Mother Earth.

So now we are a globally-connected society, with school children on one side of the globe connecting with children on the other side and ‘seeing’ each other through the miracle of technology while they collaborate on projects.  Scientists have, for a long time, collaborated on projects without regard to nationality and from many different continents.  Shared goals seem to dissipate the artificial political boundaries of one country from another.

How wonderful it would be if we could approach global problems with this same perspective – shared goals.  What happens if we have a shared goal of ending poverty on Planet Earth in the 21st Century?  It’s doable.  Start with feeding and educating the children.  World hunger could be eliminated with very little (in the grander scheme of things) money, according to some studies that I’ve seen.  Educating the women of a poor country, giving them a trade, a skill, can bring whole villages out of poverty.

Economics, energy, health care, poverty, illiteracy, hunger, environmental issues.  These are problems that are global in nature and demand global solutions.  What if we could set aside our differences and focus on shared goals of solving problems without political or nationalistic territorialism getting in the way?  What if we all thought of ourselves as global citizens, all connected, so that distress to a village in another country distresses us in our privileged situation?  What choices would we make if we were constantly thinking about the impact of that choice on the Planet as a whole?

Do we really need for a Vulcan to come to Earth to teach us how to “Live long and prosper”?

I think we have the resources to make decisions that can improve life on Planet Earth in this year and for many years to come.  BUT that won’t happen until we embrace the concept that we are all connected.  All of Mother Earth’s children,  whether human or animal or tree, deserve a chance to exist on her surface with her support.  This Mother does not play favorites among her children.  We are all entitled to share in the love of the Mother.  And to share in her resources.

As a globally-connected society of human beings, shouldn’t we be reaching out across all boundaries and looking for ways to improve the lives of ALL who live here now?  What do you think?  Are you ready to discuss these thoughts with others?  Post comments on blogs, including WisdomConnections.net.  Chat with your family about these ideas.  What do your friends think?  Notice who seems to adopt an isolationist view and how that shows up in other choices that they are making.  Not to judge, but to observe.  And how do you REALLY feel?

I hope you will share these thoughts with others and engage in enlightening discussions, Earthling!

BOOK LIGHTS: from “The Universe is a Green Dragon: A Cosmic Creation Story” by Brian Swimme

“The universe is your teacher, the forests are your teachers.  You will know when you fail to learn, for failure is punished with boredom.  If you develop even the least flicker of sensitivity, the universe will come alive within you.”

from The Universe is a Green Dragon: A Cosmic Creation Story
by Brian Swimme

This is one of my favorite books of all time, written in 1984 by this physicist and describing a new cosmology for us to ponder.  We must remember to keep learning, and, I would add, to be grateful for the lessons, for, as the author says, ‘failure [to learn] is punished with boredom.’  Keep looking for the lessons, with gratitude!

MUSE-INGS: What’s on Your Gratitude List?

Sometimes it’s difficult to access gratitude when we are feeling overwhelmed with our life or with our circumstances.  There seem to be a lot of us who are undergoing major changes and transitions in our lives.  Are you?

A friend of mine recommended this exercise to me:  Write out 100 things for which you are grateful and read the list every morning and every night.  This helps to focus your energy in gratitude instead of worry.  If you know anything about the Law of Attraction you know that you attract that on which you focus your attention.  If you are constantly worried then you are energizing and magnetizing the very thing you are worrying about, which is probably NOT what you want to have happen!

But if you go into a space of gratitude for what you do have then you energize more of that in your life.  ‘This or something better’ is the energy of attraction when you express and really get in touch with gratitude.  This is why affirmations work, because, when created properly, an affirmation is stated in the positive, in the present, and as if it is already reality so it is stated with gratitude.  When you send out this message of attraction the Universe arranges things to provide what you are focused on, or something better.

There are critics who do not hold that the Law of Attraction works but I believe differently.  Even when I didn’t know about the Law I could see that my thoughts were creating my reality.  Or did the thoughts create the lens through which I saw my reality?  Does it really matter?

Finding gratitude in the little things in your life will propel you forward into finding more things for which to feel gratitude.  Make up your list of 100 things and have fun with it.  Maybe ‘fun’ is on your list!  My list has things as prosaic as ‘My iPhone’ and as esoteric as ‘Seeing a Great Blue Heron, 2 foxes, a golden eagle and a coyote, all this week’ on it.  No matter what, there is always something to be grateful for.

I remember my beloved Aunt Margaret on her last day of life.  My family had been on vacation when we learned that she was unwell and not expected to last very much longer.  We hurried to her bedside and she had waited to see us to say goodbye.  After we left her a nurse came in and offered to get her whatever she wanted.  My aunt asked for a ginger ale and told the nurse where to find some money for the nursing home soft drink machine.  The sweet nurse said, ‘Don’t worry.  This is my treat.’  And my aunt’s response was,  ‘Thank you.  In my condition tonight I’ll accept your treat.’  She died a few hours later.

We can choose to be in gratitude or we can choose to find something to get upset about.  We can be sweet to other people or we can be mean to them.  We can create affirmations from gratitude or desires from greed.  All of Life is about choice.   Oh, maybe not about consciously choosing everything that happens but certainly about choosing what our response will be.  When we start each day in gratitude, our choices will come from an expanded awareness of how our lives are unfolding.  This expansion guides us to better choices throughout that day.

I am grateful to you for being a subscriber to this ezine or a reader of this message.

Now, 99 more and I’ll have a new gratitude list completed!

BOOK LIGHTS: from “Awakening to Zero Point: The Collective Initiation” by Gregg Braden

“The indigenous peoples of the world have told us for thousands of years that our world is the world of illusion; that all in this world is the product of our thought and as such is not real.  Additionally, ancient texts remind us that our world is actually the world of a dream, and at this precise time in Earth and human history, the dream is about to change.”

from Awakening to Zero Point:
The Collective Initiation

by Gregg Braden

If our world is ‘the product of our thought’ then we really can change our world by changing our thoughts.  Learning this concept led me to become an intuitive coach so that I can help others change their world.  And as Mother Earth goes through her changes, we must join together to dream the New Earth into existence, based on the principles of Love and Oneness.  The future is NOW!

MUSE-INGS: Change your thoughts. Change yourself. Change the World!

Has there ever been a word so over-used as ‘change’ in the 21st Century?  Everyone talks about change and everyone means something different by it.  Do you ever get frustrated and wish things could just stay the same for awhile?

I think there are a lot of people who have made that decision and they are even going so far as to try to drag society along with them in a regressive direction, going back to some fantasy past that they envision as idyllic.  They are fooling themselves.

Human beings are growing all the time.  The human brain is learning and creating new neural pathways with every new thought.  These pathways are reinforced with the repetition of those new thoughts.  We can diet and lose weight.  We can exercise and build muscles.  Our hair, skin, posture can all change.  We age, some gracefully and some kicking and screaming all the way.  Children grow into adults, adults grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  All things are in forward motion through the Fourth Dimension of Time.

And so we are each, individually and collectively, called to grow.

What have you done lately to grow beyond where you have been? What new thoughts have you exercised to create those neural pathways?  What creative activities have you engaged in lately?

Growth is an urge within each of us.  The baby progresses from rolling over to crawling to standing to walking.  How many times does that cute little diapered-bottom hit the floor before the first confident steps move the baby across the room?  The urge to walk is stronger than the urge to avoid falling down.

Do you have that determination to master something new in your life today?  Are you willing to focus on the goal long enough that you can get up every time you fall down and strike out again and again toward that goal?  Are you willing to change your steps so that you gain your balance and can propel yourself forward?

Making the commitment to keep moving forward in your own life will model for those around you what they, too, must do.  Growth demands constant attention, especially to our thoughts.

I recently worked with a client who is on a path of personal growth and the most important thing for her to learn was to move beyond the beliefs that had held her captive her whole life.  We can change what we believe, we can control our thoughts, we can handle our emotions rather than be held captive by them.  Identifying limiting beliefs and becoming aware of the impact they are having gives us the start we need to change those beliefs.  You can believe that you are unworthy or unlovable or undeserving, or you can decide to believe something different about yourself from this moment forward.  These are often underlying beliefs that I see in clients and there are ways to move these thoughts into supportive positions.

No one is unworthy or unlovable or undeserving if they are on a path of personal growth.  YOU are worthy.  YOU are lovable.  YOU are deserving of fulfilling your dreams.

Now, do you believe that or do you need to do some further work on clearing your limiting beliefs?  And once you have cleared the limitations are you willing to do the work to embrace the responsibilities that come with greater understanding?

This week allow yourself to consider making some changes in yourself, your beliefs, in your life.  Choose an area and really explore what it is you would like to change and why.  Ask yourself what the best strategy is for bringing about that change.  Can you do it yourself or do you need help?  Do you wish to keep this process private or do you wish to have an ‘accountability partner’ to whom you state your plan and to whom you report your progress?  Find a way to make changes while honoring yourself and your needs.  Don’t change because someone else wants you to – go inside and really examine yourself and your desires.

Change can be a good thing although many of us fear any kind of change.  YOU be the one who models for others that change can be a conscious choice to live a better, more fulfilling life.  You deserve it!
