THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Can We Expand Consciousness in the Face of Disaster?

Dear Ones,

We are pleased that so many people are discussing the advancement of human consciousness in these important days.  You will soon know why this is so important.

As people on Planet Earth begin to realize that there is something greater than their everyday life they will also start to look at each other with enlightened eyes.  Understanding that the greater is much greater than earlier perceptions would indicate gives one the scope to embrace all other humans with acceptance and an open heart.  Those who are getting a glimpse into the greater Light of expanded awareness are also feeling that expansion in their own hearts so that they can reach out from a place of Universal Love to others.

When there are big events like earthquakes and tsunamis on Earth there is more going on than the news stories portray.  Human compassion can be opened to reach out to those who have been touched by disaster.  But there is also an opening of the heart chakra of all humanity when so many are focused on one group of people.  It is said that there has been an ‘outpouring of compassion’ when thousands of people are affected by an event.  This outpouring comes from a unification of purpose, a desire to be of assistance, a concern for the plight of other humans.  These are all fostered by the Love of one human for all others at a very basic level.

Now we would tell you that there are some who are not moved by compassion in these circumstances.  There are some who see these situations as opportunities for making money, for exerting power and influence.  These people have lost the connection to Soul, to the human heart that beats in them and that was once connected to the Universal Love Source but whose connections they have worked to sever.  These people live in a bleakness that has drained the color from their existence.  Darkness and black indicate a total lack of light and color.  Light, brilliant white light, contains all the colors of the rainbow as any prism will show you.  Those who live a bleak existence cannot see the colors of light because they have shut their hearts and eyes to that color.  It is almost as if they must put on dark glasses to block the tiniest ray of light from their view.

But these people are in the minority on Planet Earth.  Why do so many give power to the few?  As we look upon the inhabitants on Earth at any given time we wonder at those who choose to remain in ignorance of their own inner power.

Each human being is born onto the Planet with a heart filled with Light and Love just waiting to be expressed within his or her environment on the Planet.  Even those born into uncomfortable situations are filled with this Light and Love at their birth.  They live a life that is waiting to unfold and to grow that Light and Love to the fullest they are able.  Childhood is a time of Lightness, of play.  Even those who have nothing according to material standards on Earth have a sense of delight at play.  Those who are hungry long for food but still know how to smile at a loved one.  And those who have plenty will laugh and play and love with abandon.

So what is it that shuts down this Light and Love that is within every human heart at birth?  It is not just the accident of circumstances, the childhood experiences, the schooling one receives that does this.  It is the conscious choice to select greed over Love, power over Light, to inflict harm without compassion for others.  When one can dispassionately kill or harm or deny care to others then one has stepped away from Love and Light.

But most people on Planet Earth have not moved so far from Love and Light that they cannot retrace their steps to offer Love and Light to others.  When Mother Earth offers an opportunity to expand the Love and Light within, as she does with every so-called ‘disaster’ of natural causes, then She is offering all of humanity an opportunity to open their heart and spread Love and Light around the Planet.  Every act of compassion increases the Love and Light available on Planet Earth.   Every disaster is an opportunity for the expansion of consciousness for all humanity.

Think on these thoughts.

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY: March 5, 2010

Spring is just around the corner and most of us are ready!  I look at the north-facing front yard that still has mounds of snow in it and think how lovely the grass will be with all this moisture.  And I love sitting on the south-facing deck in the afternoon to soak up the warm Colorado sun, waiting for the first blooms to appear.  [They’ll be awhile yet here in CO!]  I hope that you, too, are anticipating the new growth and the warm sunshine for Spring where you are.

With Spring come new opportunities for personal growth.  It is a great time to schedule a private session to clear out the old thoughts and beliefs, consult with your inner guides  and get ready for bringing in newness in your life.  This Spring I’ll be offering a new workshop, 7 Steps to Conscious Confidence: Clearing the way to make decisions with Full Consciousness and Great Confidence.  In this fun weekend you’ll explore the decisions you make and why you make them, clear the path for more conscious choices, and you’ll leave with the tools you need to have confidence in the choices you make in the future.  So if you’re not where you want to be in life, or you’ve been feeling unsure of choices you’re facing, then join us in Colorado Springs April 24-25, 2010 for a powerful weekend.  Details are at: www.rosemarybredeson.com

Another great opportunity for fun as well as education is the evening event, Conversations with The Other Side, being offered on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 7:00 pm in Colorado Springs.  Last month’s was a powerful event and sold out!  Space is very limited for this event so that each attendee can receive a personal message from an angel or spirit guide or a loved one who has crossed over.  Be sure to register early to reserve your space for this month’s offering.  Bring a friend with you.  Find details and register at:  www.rosemarybredeson.com

I’d be happy to offer a Conversations evening in Maryland during my visit March 30 – April 5 so if you’re in the Annapolis area and would like to host the event, please contact me.

Please leave a comment on this blog; we’d love to get into dialogue with you!

And be sure to check out Richard’s blog, www.MenAndTheGoddess.com.  Stop by and leave a comment there, too.

Hang in there!  Spring IS coming soon!!!

BOOK LIGHTS: From “The Journey” by Brandon Bays

Here’s a long quote that describes well something hard to put into words:

“I felt as if my own awareness filled not only the room but extended boundlessly beyond, encompassing everything and in everything.  My mind became utterly still, completely thought-free, and it seemed as if we were all bathing, soaking in this presence of love.  We were steeping in Source.

“After a few minutes we opened our eyes, and as I got ready to speak, it occurred to me that this stillness is contagious.  If there is just one person hanging out in thought-free awareness, everyone ‘catches’ it.  I have since read a beautiful quotation by W.B. Yeats which expresses this perfectly:

“We can make our mind so like still water that beings gather about us to see their own images, and so for a moment live a clearer, perhaps even fiercer, life because of our quiet.

MUSE-INGS: Be an Explorer of Worlds Beyond the Known!

Whenever there is a discussion of the expansion of human consciousness some people’s eyes glaze over and other people perk up with excitement.  I’m not sure why we have such differing reactions to the subject.  I’ve always been curious about what’s beyond what’s known.

Maybe that’s why the space program has held such a fascination for me.  What’s out there?  What happens when we step off the planet?  I remember watching the early satellites pass overhead, Echo and Sputnik.  I remember exactly what I was doing when Alan Shepard took his first space flight.  These things pulled us out of our ‘normal’ reality into the realm of huge possibilities.  Years later I watched with bated breath as the first man stepped onto the surface of the Moon.  I’m still excited by the memory of that moment.

How often do we get to witness something that takes us far beyond our daily existence?  What are the possibilities that we miss because we have narrowed down our view of Life?

When we limit ourselves to what is known, to what is commonly believed, to what someone else tells us to believe, we narrow the field of possibilities to a very small field.  As long as we stay open and curious, the field of all possibilities stays vast.  What if our beliefs were narrowly based on someone else’s narrow beliefs?  How do we stretch our field of view?

The first thing we must do is stretch out of our comfort zone and into the space where all things are possible.  It is a conscious choice we make in every moment to cling to old beliefs.  Yes, it is conscious, because we are always at a point where we can choose to believe something different from our current beliefs.  New information, new feedback from an experience, someone else’s experience shared with us, and dozens of other ways can open us to a shift in perspective.  But we must be willing to look through different eyes.

The next thing to do is to open our minds to accept that change is a constant in our lives and that change can bring with it fresh new concepts to ponder.  The more we try to hold onto old ways the more our lives stagnate and become less and less about growth and expansion and more and more about holding onto something that is going to change anyway.  The energy that it takes to cling to outmoded ideas drains our creativity from us and leaves us far behind where exploration and curiosity can take us.  This does not serve the expansion of human consciousness.

So each individual has a responsibility to all of humankind to explore ideas with a willingness to accept that their thinking might need to shift after that exploration. Think of yourself as an explorer of worlds beyond the imagination of the explorers of days gone by.  Columbus, De Gama, Vespucci were exploring the physical world of Planet Earth beyond what was known in their day.  We, in the 21st Century, have the opportunity to explore the world of ideas, of inner spaces, and of Outer Space.

How exciting it all is!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Exploring Human Consciousness

Dear Ones,

The world is rapidly moving forward, away from old ideas and ideals.  The people who are spearheading this forward motion are the spiritual leaders of Planet Earth.  Don’t be misled into believing that politicians and corporations and business leaders are the ones who are propelling humanity forward.  No, it is the spiritual leaders who are assisting humanity in its evolutionary course toward enlightenment.

Let us make it clear that we are not speaking of the religious leaders of the times.  Those who are speaking out for religions are too invested in advancing their agendas that depend upon the tenets and creeds of those religions to be a part of an ‘enlightenment movement’ within humanity.  They are offering their beliefs which might be appropriate for them but they are not universally appropriate.  For some people, they are being led into accepting beliefs from these leaders that do not apply to their Soul Purpose but they don’t know how to extricate themselves from their religious group.  Others are feeling drawn to examine the path of a different religion but are compelled for social or political reasons not to explore.  Some religious leaders are urging their followers to explore and expand their awareness but too many are narrow in their beliefs and believe that they must convince others to believe as they do.

Human consciousness is not expanded by those who hold strongly to a set of beliefs to the exclusion of others or even to the possibility that there might be some validity to conflicting beliefs.  This is true in many 21st Century religions.  There are also political and cultural groups that do not support the individual in exploring ideas outside of the ones offered by that group.  This, too, does not expand human consciousness.

What does expand consciousness is exploring ideas that are beyond what one understands in the moment.  The possibility that long-held beliefs might be supplanted by newer/other ideas allows a person to explore, to consider an awareness beyond the accepted, the familiar, even the currently approved ideas of one’s group.  Being ever open to the exploration of ideas invites expansion of consciousness because one can tap into resources beyond the limited ones that have been placed in a metaphorical box by those who refuse to continue the exploration.

Consider the teachers who are inviting people to explore within themselves as a frontier with no boundaries.  Contrast that with a teacher or leader who places the individual in a limited space and declares that any ideas outside of that space are not to be considered or tolerated.  Which situation describes one that is purposely moving toward expanded awareness and thus an expansion of consciousness?

Your role as a human being having an experience on Planet Earth is to assist all of humanity in expanding awareness.  Noticing that humankind has an inherent goodness that is waiting to be expressed frees an individual to express their own inner goodness.  It also assists one in observing the connectedness of all peoples of Earth, and allows individuals, communities and nations to accept and honor the differences among those peoples.

Not everyone on Earth at the same time must accept the same beliefs about those things that are beyond the limits of former beliefs.  Some human beings are expanding their awareness beyond what has been accepted in previous centuries.  Innovators, explorers, thinkers and philosophers are pushing the outside limits of human understanding.  They will not always agree on even foundational ideas, but they will all agree that there is much still to be learned and they will, therefore, not shut the door on the possibilities that exist.

The spiritual leaders of your day are the people who understand that there are concepts in the Universe that have not yet been explained on Planet Earth.  And they believe that you might be the one to grasp the next new concept and explain it to others!  They, therefore, support your exploration and the expansion of all human consciousness.

Be the explorer you were called to Earth to be!

And so it is.

BOOK LIGHTS: From “The Path to Tranquility” by The Dalai Lama

“Here is a general statement about Tibetan medicine: Human physiology is spoken of in terms of the three humors – wind, bile, and phlegm.  Where do disturbances originate?  Wind, bile, and phlegm imbalances occur respectively from the ‘three poisons,’ or primary mental afflictions: namely, attachment, anger, and ignorance.” –The Dalai Lama

When we foster curiosity, in ourselves and in others, then we move beyond ignorance.  Tibetan medicine understands how our ‘mental afflictions’ can affect us.  At least we have tools for dealing with those ‘three poisons’! Rosemary

MUSE-INGS: Maintain Your Child-Like Curiosity!

Curiosity, especially intellectual curiosity, is sadly lacking in our society today.  I often wonder about the people who listen to pharmaceutical ads on television, for example, without wondering why they should take a drug that has possible side effects that sound worse than the condition for which they would take the drug.  Aren’t they curious about that?

Or what about those who hear something, a piece of news, for instance, from one source and don’t bother to get corroborating evidence before they react emotionally? How can so many people on Earth in the 21st Century ignore the evidence of centuries of study, like those who still believe the Earth is the center of the Solar System despite our space exploration results that show us, up close and personal, that this is not so?  Do you ever wonder about their lack of curiosity?

I suspect that we have fallen into a time where intellectual curiosity is just ‘too darn hard’ for some people.  I mean, if you can slide through life without ever asking a question, then not much will be demanded of you.  For some people it is not even a choice to stop asking questions – they have been told the answers and the one source of information and they continue to acquiesce to that authority.  Others fail to ask questions because they are afraid of being judged by authorities or friends or family members.  Who doesn’t remember a moment in school that was confusing but the social ridicule that might follow looking ‘stupid’ prevented the question from being asked?

Why do you suppose that we have devolved into a complacent society where some don’t want to ask questions and some are too afraid to ask?  Why is it such a dividing factor that only some are willing to say ‘the emperor has no clothes’ while others might not notice or choose not to question?  Are there really any answers to these questions?

I believe that we must always be childlike in our explorations of what is around us.  We must look with wonder at the unfolding of a blossom or the rainbow in the sky or the little ant carrying a huge [for him] load on his back.  When something around us seems to be inconsistent with our model of the world I believe we have an obligation to our own development to ask questions.  Asking a question is not a judgment that something is wrong.  It is not a criticism of a person or system or situation.  It is merely an attempt to get clarification, better understanding.  A conclusion can be reached after the questioning but the questioning itself is an information-gathering stage.

We must all do this about our lives and our personal development, too. We must be examining our lives, not to be harsh judges but to be good learners.  A relationship is not damaged by asking if there is something the other party wishes to change.  A job is not usually in danger if one asks questions to better understand a context or situation.

As a spiritual counselor I see only those people who are willing to ask questions.  They are curious about ways they can improve their lives, or about something they can change, or what the next step is for them.  My clients are willing to explore themselves and their lives to develop a deeper understanding.  I love that these people come to me for help in their personal growth.  I am excited that so many people are willing to ask the questions that stimulate growth.

I’m sure that all who are reading these words are committed to a path of personal growth and are willing to ask the questions that will facilitate that growth.  See if you can expand your questioning to explore other topics about which you are curious.  Is there something that fascinates you but that you think you don’t have the time to explore?  Maybe reading a book or watching a documentary on that subject will stimulate your curiosity even further.  Do you ever ponder philosophical questions?  Maybe you can find some other people who would meet with you periodically to explore these questions.

It’s good for all of us to stay curious.  We all have a responsibility to expand human consciousness and understanding of the world around us.  Let’s start by being childlike in our curiosity.  After all, it was a child in the fairy tale who declared that ‘the emperor has no clothes’!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Remain Curious; Continue Growing!

Dear Ones,

Questions.  There are always questions to be asked. How often do you find yourself asking questions for which you hear no answer?  How often do you wonder about something and wonder, too, where to find the answer?

Or are you the other kind of person, the one who has answers and is just waiting for someone to ask you a question so that you can share one of your answers?  If you are not the person with all the answers, do you know that kind of person?

We would tell you that curiosity is a good thing for a human being to have.  On Planet Earth in the 21st Century there are many situations about which it is appropriate to have questions.  For too long many have been complacent and uncurious about what is going on around them.  For too long many have fought to isolate themselves and their resources to protect them from some intrusion by another entity: government or enemy or other human being.

People who have not been asking questions are stagnating in old energy that is no longer appropriate for Planet Earth.  Only the curious, those who question, can move forward.  If one accepts the ‘status quo’ as perfect then one cannot grow, cannot expand awareness, cannot move into a more enlightened state.

You probably know the kind of person who has no intellectual curiosity and is thus easy to mislead into believing something that is not true.  This person is content to live in an unenlightened way because they are afraid of ‘upsetting the applecart.’  It is sad to see a person who believes they know the answers even when they are not asking the questions that they should.

It is sad, too, to see people living in fear of asking questions.  What if the answer might be disturbing? What if the answer shakes up preconceived notions about how things are? This would be devastating to someone who is wedded to the notion that everything is fine as it is and that there is no necessity for change.

Think of the world you would be inhabiting if all the people of Earth had adopted this attitude through time.  You would not have automobiles or computers or telephones or televisions or radios.  You would not be connected around the world instantaneously via satellites and the internet.  Your life expectancy would be much shorter than it currently is.  Now some might say that not all advances in technology and science are good for society but we are not addressing that part.  Intellectual curiosity compels the human being forward in development.  The decisions about whether or not a particular advance is good for society is a different question but that question should not always be answered with a resounding ‘no’ merely because the advance indicates change.

Intellectual curiosity impels a person to ask questions about the greater parts of Life, like Death, the origin of the Cosmos, relationships, and philosophical questions.  Intellectual curiosity is especially important in spiritual matters because one’s purpose on Earth includes expanding awareness, developing greater consciousness, for Self and all of humanity.  To stay in one place, without the curiosity to explore beyond that place, stifles the human brain and the essence of Soul development.  To believe that all has been revealed keeps one from making that next discovery, that next ‘aha’ that would take the person and the world into another stage of development.  This is true not only in the larger scale but also in relationships, in one’s work, in discerning patterns in life and the world around one.  There is always a next step.

We would ask you to consider ways in which you have stopped being curious about Life.  Is there some aspect of Life about which you feel you have already decided all the answers?  Is there something you are afraid of learning more about?  How are you pursuing the curiosity that you might feel?  Who are you curious about?  A loved one?  Have you asked and really listened to them lately?  A prominent figure or situation?  Have you done any research into it?

Keep yourself curious.  That is how a human grows.  A child’s curiosity contributes greatly to their developing understanding of the world around them. Be childlike about everything around you.  Expand your awareness and ask questions.  Only then can the evolution of human consciousness continue to expand.  Do your part by remaining curious.

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY: February 19, 2010

Have you ever wondered about what happens after death?  Would you like to talk with a loved one who has died?  Would you like to get guidance from an angel or a spirit guide?  On February 24th at 7:00 pm MST I’ll be doing a special event, Conversation with The Other Side, and each participant will receive a message from someone on The Other Side of the veil.  These events are always educational and entertaining.  Space is very limited so that each person can receive a personal message so be sure to reserve your space soon.  If you are not in CO Springs you can participate via the internet or the phone. Details are on the website and you can reserve your space there:

www.rosemarybredeson.com

There is a hint of Spring around but there are still snowflakes to fall before we get to the Spring Equinox.  It’s snowing here in Colorado as I type this but we’ve had nowhere near the East Coast snow totals!  I hope everyone who is measuring their snowfall by feet is staying well and warm!

Watch this space [coming soon] about the offerings for late Winter, early Spring.  We’re almost ready to roll them out for you!  Stay tuned.

And if you haven’t seen ‘Avatar’ I strongly recommend that you catch it in 3D, preferably Imax format.  We’re planning to see it again and it’s wonderful!  Everyone seems to be talking about it and that’s a good thing.  Here in Colorado Springs we met with some other people for a lively discussion of this film.  It’s a good one to stimulate interesting discussions. I love that there are films with messages about personal development and connectedness. [That’s all I’ll say so I don’t include any ‘spoilers’!]

MUSE-INGS: Conscious Listening

Music.  Interesting topic for the Mystic Message.  I must admit that I was wondering where that message would go with respect to what the kids listen to.  I guess my prejudices were popping up.

But how wonderful to use music as a springboard to discussion and sharing with others in our life!  All of Life is about energy and vibration.  The foods we eat, the colors we wear, whether we are feeling ‘up’ or ‘down’ are all relating to our energy fields and the vibrations in them.  Quantum Physics is telling us a lot about our environments from a vibrational standpoint.  I was a Chemistry major for a bit in college [couldn’t stand Chem Lab so ended up in Math – no labs!] and I studied the ‘new’ information available about atoms and particles like protons and electrons.  The information that has since been discovered [it’s been a lot of years!] gives us a much greater understanding of energy and the properties of atoms, including the particles smaller than protons and electrons.  And Quantum Physics tells us a lot about the effect of the vibration of our thoughts on the rest of the Universe around us.

When we start to understand energy, and one doesn’t need to be an expert in Quantum Physics to do so, we begin to see what effects different vibrations can have on the people and the spaces around us.  Have you ever walked into a room and felt the vibration of anger even though the occupants turn to you with smiles on their faces?  Can’t you feel that they were just fighting but have put on a face for you that doesn’t match their internal vibrational energy?  Now think about music and how you feel in a room that has had lovely high-vibrational music playing in it for awhile, classical or relaxing jazz or calming new age music.  How does it feel to walk into that room?  Have you ever walked into a bar with loud music that does not appeal to you playing over big speakers, with the occupants shouting to be heard over the music, bouncing off hard surfaces?  Doesn’t that feel a bit jarring?  Contrast that with the quiet music of calming vibrations in a fabric-filled room in a restaurant designed to encourage you to relax and dine at a leisurely pace – how does that feel?

At our house, we often leave relaxing music playing when we go out so that the energy will feel calm when we return.  This also helps the pets left in the house to relax while we are gone.  Sometimes when I have cleaning to do or organizing or some activity that requires me to be upbeat and energetic I’ll put on Golden Oldies that I used to dance to [many years ago when they weren’t Oldies!]  This energizes me into action.  The music I choose to listen to in the car is related to how I feel and what I need from the music.  It might be the 60s station on satellite radio, might be kirtan chants on CDs, or the 40s station to remind me of my Dad who played in a big band in the 30s-40s.

Notice how you use music and how you could use music if you were choosing consciously.  Pay attention to the music choices that others around you are making, giving you a hint of how they are feeling or what they are, possibly unconsciously, needing from the energy of the music.  You might learn something about them that they would not verbalize or might not know themselves.

Conscious Living requires that we be aware and conscious of all aspects of our lives, even music!
