And if you’re in Colorado Springs, please join us on Monday, July 12 at 6:30 pm at Little Nepal Restaurant for dinner and discussion with the Spiritual Exploration Group.  Remember that we’re meeting on the SECOND Monday this month because of the holiday.  The topic of discussion will be a surprise!  See more details at: www.TheScientificMystic.com

BOOK LIGHTS: a quote from “A Gift of Inner Peace” by Gill Farrer-Halls

“All life is a flowing, a continual process of becoming, change and transformation.”

by Nyanatiloka Mahathera

We can’t avoid change.  Our only choice is to resist or to go with the flow.  As the Borg say on Star Trek, “Resistance is futile.”  Being prepared for change, though, can make our lives flow more smoothly.  Be prepared. Do the inner work.  Accept change.

MUSE-INGS: Who did you come here to be?

‘Robot Doing’?  Great way to describe ‘sleepwalking through history,’ as Sen. Byrd said.

It is so easy to sleepwalk through our lives.  Doing the next urgent thing.  Focusing on what has to get done today.  Creating to-do lists and getting satisfaction from checking off the items on the list.  We might get a lot accomplished but are we really ‘living’ when our days go from arising in the morning to collapsing at night without having taken time to relax, to go inside, to seriously consider the choices we are making?

Maybe being busy is a distraction from being fully conscious as a human being.  We can use the requirements of our to-do list as an excuse for avoiding the self-examination that a conscious life requires of us.  Sometimes that self-examination is painful, especially if we have been taught to judge ourselves harshly.  It’s easier to slide through our days being busy than to face something that feels uncomfortable to face about ourselves.

But maybe we need to do that self-examination in a non-judgmental way.  I like to go back to my mantra – Everybody is doing the best they can with the resources they have at any given moment, even me.  This might be the best way to set ourselves up for self-examination, to accept that, no matter what, we were making the choices to do or to be the best we could in a given moment.  The only moment that matters is NOW, this present moment, for we can begin to make new choices right now and in all the moments forward.  We can give up decisions and choices we’ve made in the past.  We can also give up worrying about the choices we will be making in the future.  The only moment that we need to fully examine is the present moment.

In this moment you can make a choice about who you want to be as well as what you want to do.  The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive, for who you want to be determines what you do, if you let it.  Decide who you are, at your core.  Go inside and find the person you wish to be.  What you do will follow from that.  The decisions get easier because you are led from within.  The values are clearer when you are coming from a place of being the Real You.

And in the context of preparing for the changes that are coming isn’t being the authentic human being that you came to Planet Earth to be the most important aspect of your life?  You weren’t born to ‘do’ something, you were born to ‘be’ someone!  Life on Planet Earth is requiring that we all determine who we were born to be, and to do this now.  The changes that are coming, into each life and into life on Planet Earth for all, will be facilitated by our determining our own inner needs, our own inner calling, and our inner voice that guides us.

But if we continue to fill our days with busy-ness we will have to, at some point, play catch-up with our inner work.  I’m vowing to do the work in a proactive way, not when it becomes a necessity but while I can have more control over my day so that I take time to listen to the inner proddings.

I’m a big believer in listening for the messages from The Universe before Spirit picks up a 2 X 4 and hits me over the head!  I hope you’ve learned about that choice, too!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: “Are You a ‘Robot Doing’ or a ‘Human Being’?”

Dear Ones,

Change is coming.  This is a theme that you are hearing from many quarters, but are you ready to change?

We are not talking about the simple changes that are indicated by external circumstances such as a move of residence or a new eating program.  We are also not referring to a change of jobs or partners. No, what we are referring to here is the kind of internal change that will be required in you as you are dealing with all these external changes in the world around you.

Preparing for change does not mean laying in supplies as if planning for disaster, nor does it mean worrying/fretting/creating anxiety over not knowing what is coming.  The preparations being required of you now are those that require you to examine yourself, your life, your relationships, and the details of your days.  These days of preparation are for you to go inside your own inner space and peer into all the nooks and crannies of your existence to decide if what you find there is something that you wish to keep within you.

For example, when is the last time that you examined your daily schedule to consciously choose what you do each day, what order in which you do those tasks, who you spend your time with, how much attention you give to your inner life, how much time you spend expanding your horizons with new knowledge, what food you eat?  So much of every day of human life can be spent moving like a robot that many people are being robots throughout their days, never stopping to become the examiner of what they are doing.  Are you a ‘human being’ or a ‘robot doing’?

Before you can grow and evolve as a human being you must first be conscious of the choices you are making at all times.  Examine the way in which you spend your time to see what it is that you actually value most, not just what you think you value or what you hope you value.  At every given moment you are making choices:  about how you are spending that moment of your precious life, about how you are speaking to another, what you are thinking or doing, and whether or not you are fully present to that moment or focusing on something in the past or the future.  You are always at choice.

So notice how you are making choices.  What values determine the choices you make?  As you prepare for change, are you eschewing that which really doesn’t fit the values you wish to focus on?  Are you looking for ways to grow and to evolve?  And are you valuing your own inner life and inner growth?

Some think that preparing to change is about the actual moving forward, like packing to move to another home.  But the real preparations must be made inwardly.

If, for example, you are ready to move to another house and have everything packed in boxes, ready for the movers, have you also examined how you feel about your move?  Is there any unfinished business about the home or neighborhood or town that you are leaving?  Have you even taken time to think about this?  This example shows how easy it is to be distracted by the external activities and to forget about the inner life and its needs.

Think about your life today and make conscious choices to be prepared for any changes that might be coming.  Get rid of the unnecessary and bring in what is needed.  Create a daily schedule that supports your inner life.  Make your choices from advancing consciousness.

Live a conscious life as a ‘human being’ not a ‘robot doing’!

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY

Happy holiday!  For our friends in the US this is the 4th of July weekend, celebrating Independence Day.  We teased our visitors from the UK about their being in the States for the day we Yanks celebrate kicking them out!  I hope you and your family have a fun-filled, perfect weather holiday weekend.

We’re enjoying the visitors who are with us now – our daughter and grandchildren drove out from Maryland [with their big dog!] and it’s been fun to be ‘Grandma Mimi’ for awhile.  The Colorado weather has been magnificent and the kids are enjoying playing outside without worrying about East Coast humidity.

I’m taking a break from offering Conversations with The Other Side until after summer festivities and travel are over.  I’ll let you know when we resume in the Fall.

If you’re ready to make some changes in your life then schedule a Personal Power Strategy Session with me this Summer!  We’ll determine your Life Purpose and develop the strategies for you to use to increase your Personal Power for a Successful Life.  In these sessions we work with your personal guides and angels to get all the information you need to take the next step in your personal growth or to resolve confusion about the direction that is best for you to follow.  Contact me to discuss how we can work together to move you forward in your life NOW!  Email me at rosemary@TheScientificMystic.com or call 719-272-7873.

Enjoy all your Summer activities!

BOOK LIGHTS: “The New Codependency: Help and Guidance for Today’s Generation”

“It’s our job to take care of our feelings and let other people take care of theirs.  It’s okay to give to people – but don’t give to get people to like us.  Give because we want to, when giving comes from our heart.  Speak up for other people, but speak up for ourselves, too.  Stick to your responsibilities and let other people take care of theirs.”

by Melody Beattie

We have so many different ways of relating to other people that we sometimes forget that the most important thing we can do is to be ourselves, to be in charge of our own lives, and to define healthy boundaries so that each of us can become empowered.  As Melody Beattie says, ‘Stick to your responsibilities and let other people take care of theirs.’  By being empowered yourself, you assist others in finding their own empowerment, but it’s not your job to do it for them!

MUSE-INGS: Empowerment and Change

Change.  The word keeps popping up, it seems.  And some of us really don’t want any changes while some of us want everything to change.  How do you feel at this moment?  Is there something you would really like to change but don’t know how?  Or do you feel that you can’t, for whatever reason, make the change you desire because of repercussions or what other people will do/say?

Let’s agree that if we want to change we will figure out a way to do so.  For example, if you are wanting to change the way you eat but you have a family with whom you eat meals at home, what are you doing about your desire to eat differently?  If you don’t do it, then ask yourself if you are giving your power away.  If you really want to change, you can find a way to modify the food served so that everyone can be happy.  What else do you want to change that would only require a small shift in your thinking in order to facilitate that change?  Maybe the only shift is from “I can’t” to ‘How can I?”

When we are told that there is energy of change around us and we will be supported, then this is a good time to examine our lives in depth and honesty to determine what we wish were different.  I know the things I would like to do differently but maybe I use the other members of the household as an excuse to avoid making changes.  Do I really want to change or do I think I ‘should’ change?  That’s a good question to ponder, for if I really wanted to change maybe I would have done so already.  And if there is something I want to change I can go ahead and do it, when I am feeling personally empowered.

It all comes down to where my personal power resides.  Do I reach inside and tap into my own inner power or am I /have I given away my power to someone external to myself and I am allowing that to determine my current direction?

Once I have examined these questions I can make a conscious decision about how to move forward.  It seems to me that the times are coming when each of us must stand on our own while remaining connected to all others.  This is a skill that too many of us have not yet developed.  What is in my own highest good while I am considering the highest good of all?  This represents a delicate balance but awareness starts with self-awareness.  And self-awareness starts with self-observation.  Until we can learn to become dispassionate, nonjudgmental observers of ourselves, we cannot claim our own power and change ourselves and our lives.  The first change we must make is to observe without judgment and make our choices in that context.

And we must also learn that introspection is a good practice to cultivate.  Go inside and become acquainted with your inner, authentic self.  Are you pleasing others by ignoring how you really feel?  Are you operating under the influence of decisions made in your childhood?  What motivates you?  Are you constantly aware of parts of yourself that you are denying or are you accepting of yourself in your totality?

Practice asking yourself if what you are observing is real.  Is this true?  You might surprise yourself with your answers.  Learn how to get in touch with what is real for you in any given moment.  If you need help doing this, then work with a nonjudgmental counselor who will help you find the ‘you’ behind the mask.

As we approach change, in our own lives and in the Planet, we must be careful to be authentic and honest with ourselves.  The time is now to do the inner work and to find our own inner power.  Empowered individuals can revolutionize the world.

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: You Can Change!

Dear Ones,

We are poised to help you as you move through the coming days when things will start to change for you.  Is there something about your life that you wish were different?  You will be able to change that.  Is there something about yourself that you wish to change?  You will be able to do that as well.

Your life is Your Life!  YOU are in charge of your life.  If others are causing you to feel things you do not wish to feel then you must make a change.  Sometimes that change is to move those people out of your life.  If you are feeling that you have lost control of your life, then you must regain control by changing the way you think about yourself and your life.

Do not give your power away to others.  It is an easy thing to do and can happen unconsciously in insidious ways.  You can start by loving someone and wanting to be what they want you to be.  Then you make choices to ‘keep the peace’ rather than to confront them about something that is bothering you.  And then you think to yourself that you will change at some nebulous later date and bring up what is bothering you, but not just now.  It doesn’t take long before you have given away your power to another.

Notice if there is anyone to whom you have given your power.  Your partner?  Your boss?  Your child?  Your parent?  Your friend?  This is not a judgment, Dear One, this is a time for you to observe yourself in your current life.  And this is the first step toward living a Conscious Life – becoming the observer of your own life.  Observe yourself without judgment.  Notice your own choices and your own feelings.  When you can observe yourself without judgment you give yourself the opportunity to grow.  If you insist on judging then you will get caught up in the ‘shoulds’ and you will miss the possibilities.

Now, decide today that you will hold onto your own power to control your own life.  This is a decision you can make that has nothing to do with other people.  If someone says or does something that you do not feel comfortable with, you have the option of reacting to that with your own power.  Decide whether or not you will let that in.  And decide whether or not you will take action about the situation.  Give yourself permission, from your own internal place of power, to choose not to take action, if you wish.  Make sure that you are deciding from inside you.

We said that we would be there to help you.  If you wish to make changes in your life or in yourself, you have only to ask and you will be guided and supported in making those changes.

The world around you is getting ready for some major changes.  There will be power shifts in high places and individuals will be facing major decisions.  The energy of change abounds and so this is a good time to make whatever changes you would like to make as you will be supported in those changes.

Reach inside yourself and search for your own inner guidance.  When you decide to change, make the change that helps you to grow.  This is a part of living a Conscious Life from the place of internal empowerment.

You are blessed and supported!

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY

Enjoy this powerful Full Moon on June 26th with a lunar eclipse thrown into the mix!  This energy always awakens us to changes we must make in our lives.  Do some introspection so that you can assimilate this energy this weekend.  And notice how you feel – can you detect the energy of this celestial event?  Whether you feel something or not, be careful because others might be unconsciously reacting to the energy and be more accident-prone or testy.  Notice how the children in your life react to this kind of energy, too.  It’s always interesting!

After a lovely visit with our friends from the UK and a brief trip to New Mexico, I’m back in Colorado Springs to enjoy a visit from our daughter and grandkids who are driving out from Maryland.  I’ll be playing ‘Grandma Mimi’ and loving every minute of it!

But I will also be working so on Wednesday, June 30th I’ll be doing a Conversation with The Other Side at 7:00 pm.  During this event you will receive messages from Angels, Spirit Guides, and/or Loved Ones who have crossed over to The Other Side.  We always have an enlightening, educational and fun time at these evenings.  Each attendee will receive a personal message so space is limited, but there are a few seats still available.  Register at www.TheScientificMystic.com where you can find all the details.

I hope you are enjoying your Summer!

BOOK LIGHTS: from “My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist’s Personal Journey”

“Frankly, I find this sort of mental obsessing by my left hemisphere storyteller to be a waste of time and emotionally draining.  Thanks to my stroke, I have learned that I can own my power and stop thinking about events that have occurred in the past by consciously realigning myself with the present.”

by Jill Bolte Taylor

Jill Bolte Taylor, who studied the brain, had a stroke and studied her own brain from within.  Through learning to be conscious in the present moment, she reclaimed her own power.  Dwelling on the past or worrying about the future drains away the power available to us in the present.  Stay focused on the present moment and find the power within you!
