BOOK LIGHTS: from The Law of Attraction is NOT a Secret

“The Law of Attraction truly is a science, whether it is based on physics or metaphysics.  It’s a science based on the energy produced by our thought processes.  It’s been proven that brainwaves produce energy which can be recorded by medical diagnostic equipment.  The energy produced by our brainwaves cause vibrations.  The Law of Attraction could also be called the Law of Vibration, since they are both founded on positive or negative energy or vibrations.”

by Anita G. Wheeler

The more we understand about the vibrations of our thoughts the more conscious we need to become about what we are thinking.  The Law of Attraction works no matter what we believe, so we might as well think about what we WANT to attract!

MUSE-INGS: Choose to Think Thoughts Filled with Light

Where is the source of your latest thought?

Sometimes I find I am scattered and my thoughts come from everywhere.  Often I follow one then get sidetracked by the next stimulus and go off on a tangent.  The trouble with that is I can quickly forget where I was going in the first place!

It seems that hitting the ‘pause button of my mind’ is the skill that I need to exercise the most. I stop, breathe, then breathe again, and clarity returns.

I am aware that many thoughts seem to pop into my head from somewhere outside.  Sometimes it’s even my mother, a wonderful woman who has been on The Other Side for over 10 years!  But that voice can help me see what I am looking at through new eyes. Sometimes it is an old tape that is playing in my head and I have to catch myself as an observer to notice that that tape no longer has relevance in my life.  It seems to be so easy to cling to the old ways of thinking because they are automatic, a knee-jerk response to a stimulus.

But once you have decided to live a Conscious Life you must catch yourself in EVERY knee-jerk response. The question to ask is, ‘What is the source of this thought?’  If the answer is that you have considered many options and at this time you have chosen consciously to believe something, then stay with that thought and follow it. If, however, you answer that the thought came from your childhood or your friend at work or from a discussion with a neighbor then reassess its value in your current life.  Why would you spend time and brainpower following a thought that comes from a past prejudice that was instilled in you by someone who hadn’t had the opportunity to examine and discard that prejudice?  Why would you adopt a contracting thought, one that makes you feel smaller rather than expanded, just because someone at work planted that thought or reaction in your mind?

Living a Conscious Life asks you to bring forward your thoughts into the Light and to examine them. There is a quality to thoughts called their ‘Light Content.’  Thoughts that have a high Light Content feel expansive, take you outside of your small ‘s’ self and into the realm of the capital ‘S’ Self.  When you spend time with high Light Content thoughts you will feel yourself touching the world of creativity, of acceptance, of connection.

On the other hand, thoughts of little Light Content feel darker, heavier, more contracting and very personal, without room for others to fit into the thoughts.  Sometimes these thoughts are old thought forms that no longer serve in the 21st Century but are still being held by those who choose not to grow.  These will not serve you in your path of personal and spiritual growth.  Learn to recognize them when they cross your path and choose to move forward, discarding their heavy energy.

Choose to think thoughts that are filled with Light.  Choose to hold onto beliefs that serve your growth into expanded Light.  You are always at the point of choice.  Choose growth.  And enjoy the Light!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Are Your Thoughts Filled with Light?

Dear Ones,

Please remember that you are all connected to one another. No decision that you make can be made in isolation.  No word that you speak can stay in your own orb, your own space.  And, likewise, no thought that you have or express can stay with you – it reverberates immediately throughout the Universe.

Every thought that comes to you has a source, a space in which it was formed.  That thought in your mind can come from one of myriad sources but the most prevalent source for most thoughts is in your own mind, the place that is formed from your experiences and from what you have been taught is true.  Are you aware of this fact?  Every experience that you have ever had is contained in your mind and shapes the thoughts that you hold onto.  If you were raised in a household where people were prejudiced against another group or other groups you might not even recognize that prejudice within yourself even when someone else points it out to you.  If you were raised to believe that a certain religion is the only true religion and the God that you were told to believe in is the one true God then you might not listen with an open heart when someone expresses information that contradicts that belief.  If you were raised to believe that science holds true in all cases and that, if it can’t be proven according to the current methods of science, then it must not be true, then it is probably difficult for you to conceive of the ideas of meta-physics which is ‘beyond physics.’

What are some other sources of the thoughts that you have?  They could be stimulated by a passing glance at something that triggers a thought. For example, you might see a sign with a picture of someone drinking milk and remember that you need to buy milk on your way home.  Or someone could say something to you that triggers a response.  These responses come from a place inside you where your previous experiences and your current reality intersect.

When you encounter a new idea that is presented by someone else, in a book or conversation, for example, you might weigh that idea and have reactions to it or decide to embrace that idea as a belief for yourself.  You must first be open to the concept that you do not already know everything for this to happen, however!

Creative thought comes through your connection to the All, to the Cloud of Knowable Things, to the Source within the Universe.  New ideas, or ideas that might be new to you, are available at all times through this connection to Source.  How often do you connect in this way?

To make this connection you must first purify the channel of your mind by examining how invested you are in the ideas/thoughts that you have held dear for most of your life.  Do you believe that some of your own ideas about how the world works might have been formed in error or with less than full knowledge about the workings of the Universe?  Do you understand that your parents and schoolmates and the culture and society and religion [or no religion] in which you grew up have formed not only your thoughts but also the way you approach new thoughts?  Until you have examined the source of your own thoughts you will struggle to be really creative and to connect to expanded thinking.

Learn about yourself by being in a curious state.  Wonder about the root of your current beliefs.  Are they truly your own or did they come from another source?  Are you, as an adult, still believing ideas that you embraced as a little child and are those ideas still valid for you?

When you have done the self-examination described here then you will be able to consider thoughts that come from Creative Source.  It is very difficult to explore new ideas when you are wedded to that which is formed in concrete within your own mind.  Break up that concrete and become a curious explorer, looking in wonder at your own ideas and the thoughts that originate elsewhere.  Breathe into a quiet mind and find that connection that allows you to receive new thoughts for consideration.  Explore with wonder and you will find there is much to learn.  Enjoy the journey!

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY

Happy Spring holidays/holy days!  Whatever you celebrate there is a sense of new life around when there are flowers in bloom and blue skies with sunshine to kiss you!  We’re in Annapolis, Maryland to celebrate Easter with the MD family and the grandkids.  It was fun being in LA at the beginning of the week and then flying over home in Colorado to arrive in Maryland for the holiday.  I hear there’s to be snow at home but it’s warm where we are so I’m happy today.

Richard and I attended the ‘Rejuvenate Your Practice’ seminar over the weekend and met some amazing holistic practitioners who are also learning ‘heartselling’ instead of ‘hard selling’ to bring their services to more people.  We’re excited about learning these techniques to help even more folks learn to manifest their inner greatness to the world and to live Conscious Lives.  Of course, it’s always wonderful to visit Southern California in the springtime!

We’re getting ready for the ‘Conscious Confidence Workshop’ that we’re offering in Colorado Springs April 24-25.  Join us for a fun-filled educational weekend where you will learn to clear any blocks to making decisions and will gain confidence in your approach to determining the next step in your life.  Have you ever been confused about what you should do in a situation?  Have you made a decision and then agonized over whether you made the right decision? During this work/playshop I’ll be teaching the 7 steps to making decisions with confidence and you will leave with a strategy to use for approaching those decisions that you face.  Register before April 11 for the early-bird discount. Check out the details on the website:

Or, call for more information 719-272-7873.

If you’re looking for guidance and would like a personal message from a spirit guide or loved one who is on The Other Side, then join us on Wednesday, April 28th for Conversations with The Other Side.  Details are on the website.

We’re very excited about the Spiritual Exploration Group topic for Monday, April 5th, 6:30 pm, at Little Nepal Restaurant on S. 8th Street in Colorado Springs!  Join us to discuss 2012: What’s All This Hype about 2012? What’s the Basis for it and What Do We Think Might Happen? There is a lot of talk about 2012 and we’ll be discussing the science, the history and the expectations.  Should be a lively time!

As you approach your spring cleaning remember to consider a spiritual tune-up and check in with your guides.  To schedule a private session with me send an email to rosemary@rosemarybredeson.com or call me at 719-272-7873.  I’d love to work with you this season!

BOOK LIGHTS: Margaret Mead quoted in “The Smart Women’s Book of Powerful Quotations”

“Because of their age-long training in human relations – for that is what feminine intuition really is – women have a special contribution to make to any group enterprise.”

Sheri McConnell

I believe it is the women who will lead the way into discourse with respect and receptivity.  It is up to us, the women of the 21st Century, to model the art of civil conversation for the world and especially for the children.

MUSE-INGS: Be the Example of Good Conversation Skills

Conversations.  Dialogue.  Words to consider.  Sometimes a topic or an issue can be such a polarizing subject that people shy away from having a discussion.  Perhaps it is time for reviving the practice of dialogue, where we learn to discuss a topic even while disagreeing.

It used to be that civility required that one not attack a person for the ideas that they held.  Ideas could be discussed, even debated, without the debate becoming a personal attack.  Some people are forgetting that.  In drawing rooms of old people sought out others to listen to the information being discussed and to proffer opinions but to genuinely listen with openness to what was being offered by others.  We don’t seem to be teaching the children of today about this art of conversation.

On television, they see a point/counterpoint discussion of people yelling at each other and interrupting.  School debate teams might be more civilized but they imply that there are only two sides to each issue.  What about the gray areas?  What about a third perspective or the middle ground?  Why must every discussion become a debate in the form of right/wrong and ‘I’m right and you’re wrong’?  How will our children grow up to be good conversationalists and to learn to really listen to what others are saying when they aren’t seeing it modeled in the society around them?

Too many families are too busy to have dinner around the table so that the art of conversation can be practiced.  It is as small children sitting with the family that people learn to model conversations.  Learning to wait one’s turn before speaking, to really listen to another rather than be thinking of the next thing to say are qualities that one must be taught, preferably by example.  Talking about an idea, a topic of interest, and learning how to respect another’s opinion even when it differs from one’s own, are important skills to learn as a young person.

Several years ago I was picking up my grandchildren from their elementary school and was shocked to hear the tone of voice being used to address teachers as well as other students.  The tone did not convey respect and I heard it over and over again.  Parents have a difficult time training their children to show respect in their speech when for many hours a day a different attitude becomes the norm.  But it is worth the effort for parents to teach their children how to listen and how to speak to be heard.

Every discussion in which one participates requires that one consider the feelings of the other person with respect.  Whether that other person is a dear friend, a family member or a stranger in a store makes no difference. They deserve respect and honor.  And so do you.  Don’t let others talk to you with a lack of respect.  Your ideas are worthy of discussion and you deserve to be listened to.  The best way to receive this kind of treatment is to model it.  Pay attention to the energy in your conversations and notice how you feel when you are talking with others.  Do some make you feel comfortable and heard?  Or do they make you feel small, dismissed, or ignorant?  Consider this when you decide where to spend your time.  Actively seek out those who help you to expand your horizons while respecting you and your ideas.  Be the person in the conversation who is always elevating it to the plane of higher consciousness.  You will feel good and others will, too!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Are your conversations from a Conscious Perspective?

Dear Ones,

Look around you at the people with whom you surround yourself.  Do they have a positive energy with them?  Do they think of possibilities or do they focus on failures, regrets and what might have been?  What do you speak of with them?  Do you allow the people around you to guide the conversation or do you participate or even steer the conversation to those topics that are uplifting?  Do you consider solutions or do you cut off discussions before solutions can be defined?

Think about the art of conversation and how you participate with others.  Think about the others and the kinds of conversations you have with them, individually and collectively.  Do you feel expanded by the interactions?  Can you see another possibility when you discuss an idea with that person?

It is time to take control of the conversations among people because rhetoric is replacing true exploration.  In many parts of the world people do not engage in conversation because all of their energy is going toward their survival.  The freedom to carry on a conversation goes along with having survival assured in one’s life.  Consider the societies where conversation is an important part of one’s day.  Sitting at the coffee shop or patisserie, around the water cooler in an office, over lunch with friends or colleagues, over a meal at home with the family.  What topics are discussed?  Are they ideas, philosophies, gossip, rants, complaints?

Ideas have a high vibration energy to them, as do philosophies.  When one stays with an idea it can stimulate thinking, mental activity and creativity.  A philosophical discussion can spur one into considering the field of all possibilities, thus expanding the horizons of thought.

The other topics above take one into a lower vibration and cause a contraction of one’s energy, often into an unconscious protective stance.  Gossip about others creates an unconscious fear of being gossiped about oneself.  Complaints cause one to focus on a problem and not on a solution.

You can always take a conversation and turn it into something of higher vibration by gently steering the discussion into higher planes, addressing solutions or ideas or taking a different, higher perspective on the topic.  When someone is mired down in a problem or an issue, it is often up to the other person to offer a perspective from the higher view.  One who is stuck in the energy of the problem may not have the resources to examine all the possibilities for solutions.  This is why it is often advantageous to discuss an issue with another person.

However, discussing an issue does not mean being wedded to the story to the point of staying a victim in the narrative.  Rather, it means allowing the other person to offer suggestions and really listening to those suggestions.

Sometimes you will be the person with the problem and sometimes the one with the solutions.  Are you willing to look at the conversations you have from now on from this perspective?  This is not about judging another person for their views or for getting into a problem situation.  This is your always coming from an open heart that truly wishes to help the other to find peace.

The other side of this is for you to embrace a willingness to really listen to others, to see that they might have another perspective to offer you, and to consider what is being offered.

The kinds of conversations we address here require that neither party devolve to name-calling, judgment, anger/hatred/violence.  We are addressing here conversations between two people who honor each other and who allow each person to have ideas that may differ from one’s own.  These conversations can result in true dialogue and personal growth for both participants.

Decide today that these are the only kinds of conversations you will have.  Decide today that you will minimize time with those who refuse to have these kinds of conversations.  Seek to be the peacemaker, for your own good as well as for those around you.  And solutions you haven’t dreamed of might appear!

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY

Spring is officially here and we have the remnants of our 10 inches of snow on the lawn!  But as a dear friend said the other day, ‘Every Spring we get one good snow storm and when the snow melts the grass has started to turn green.’  We’re hoping that this was the storm that will turn the grass back to green!

Pay attention to the Full Moon on March 29th as this brings us the balance of the scales of Libra [Moon] with the fire of new beginnings and energetic movement of Aries [Sun].  The equinox last week showed us about balance in our life, the balance of going with the flow and staying centered in our own inner stillness.  Now we have the energy to move forward coupled with the balance of being still inside.  This is a powerful place to be for inner power does come from inside each of us.  And remember that the Full Moon is always a good time to get rid of what we don’t need, a true Spring Cleaning!

Be sure to register early to hold your spot for the Conscious Confidence Workshop/Playshop April 24-25 in Colorado Springs!  You’ll learn how to approach the decisions you face in your life and you’ll have a system for having confidence in the decisions that you make.  And you’ll have a lot of fun learning the system!  If you’ve ever felt confused about the choices in front of you or if you often second guess a decision once you’ve made it, this workshop is for you!  Read more about it and register at:

Have a wonderful week!  We’ll be visiting Los Angeles this weekend and then spending Easter in Maryland, with the grandchildren.  Hurray!  If you’re in either place, please contact us.  We’d love to see you!

BOOK LIGHTS: from “The Medium, the Mystic, and the Physicist: Toward a General Theory of the Paranormal”

“In art we accept the Sensory Reality expression of a Rembrandt and a Titan, with their deep understanding of the unities of the everyday view of man and the universe.  We also accept as valid the other types of unities and interactions of the nonrepresentational painter: those of a Picasso, or a Miró, in their attempts to communicate another view of reality.  These artists, like the serious sensitives, attempt to see reality with both eyes – the Sensory Reality and the Clairvoyant Reality.”
Lawrence LeShan
Perhaps the children of today are the ‘serious sensitives’ that LeShan is talking about.  They are attempting ‘to see reality with both eyes’ and the rest of us need to listen to what they are telling us they see.
Rosemary

MUSE-INGS: Listen to the Children

The children of the 21st Century are amazing beings.  So many, though, really are super-sensitive. I watch our grandchildren struggle with their sensitivities and yet they are truly radiant beings of Light.  I’m sure your children and grandchildren are as well.

What is it that they are here to teach us?  I think the most important thing we can learn from them is an openness, a big heart, an acceptance of themselves and others as they are.  I once heard my granddaughter say that she had been criticized for saying that she sees the fairies.  [She does.]  Her answer was that everyone is special in their own way.  She has a cousin who can talk with wild animals and they are not afraid of her.  That was Makayla’s answer to being criticized.  It represents an understanding that, ‘Just because I am different from you or your understanding of the world does not mean that there is anything wrong with me.’

Of course, she is also a regular kind of tweener, 12 going on 21.  These sensitive kids need our help in making sense of their surroundings.  They arrive on Planet Earth knowing that there are many levels to consciousness and they are not afraid to share what their experiences are.  We, in turn, try to teach them to follow the rules as we understand them.  Could the lesson for us be to re-examine what we thought were the rules?  Bill Maher, in his TV show, “Real Time with Bill Maher”, offers ‘New Rules’ every Friday night.  His are often funny and tongue in cheek, but he always has a reason behind his offerings.  Maybe it is time for us to examine all those things we thought were ‘rules’ and decide anew whether or not they fit the times.

In politics there seem to be two camps of people – those who wish to advance their society with new thought and those who wish to hold onto the old traditions and to fight change.  Oftentimes we seem to get more wrapped up in the arguments than the issues would warrant and we forget to step up above the disagreement to look for long-reaching effects and to use expanded consciousness in our search for solutions.

In every area of 21st Century life there is an opportunity to expand consciousness and step all of humanity up to the next level.  We must learn from the children to be cosmic beings, not citizens of one country or members of a political party, a particular ethnic group, a religious group.  We must step up and look at situations from that cosmic perspective, asking for long-term information about decisions we are considering.  With the energetic changes that are coming, we must fight the tendency to be narrow in our thinking, for we will miss the great things that are approaching if we live within tunnel vision.

Expand your views.  Open your horizons. Listen to the children.
