THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Focus on the Beauty of the Moment

Dear Ones,

We are pleased that so many of you are taking time to ‘smell the roses,’ as the saying goes.  It is so important for the human soul to take time to enjoy beauty, to be present to the beauty that is surrounding life, and to share beauty with others.

When you are immersed in your work or your problems to the exclusion of what is around you then you are not living a fully human and conscious life.  There is beauty in every moment, somewhere in your vicinity.  Look for it.  Is it the magnificence of the sunrise or sunset?  Is there a beautiful hummingbird at your window feeder?  Can you see a child’s perfect smile or hear an older person’s knowing laugh?  Is there a color nearby that looks beautiful to you?  Did you hear music that you love or see someone who made you smile or enjoy your pet today?

You do not have to look far to find beauty.  But what if your attention is focused on what is NOT beautiful around you?  What if you are struggling or looking at clutter or tired of drab surroundings?  What can you do?

Do you realize that to live a Conscious Life you must be the one who chooses where to focus your attention?  Just because something pops up in your awareness does not mean that you must linger with that thought or focus all your attention on it.  This is the first lesson in stilling the mind for meditation.  It is not that you must expend effort in trying to keep thoughts from arising in your mind, for your mind’s purpose is to bring thoughts into your conscious awareness.  Rather, it is your lesson to learn to allow the thoughts to drift through your awareness without your attaching your awareness to them.  Just as you allow clouds to drift across the sky, so can you allow thoughts to drift across the sky of your mind without trying to cling to them or hold onto them in your awareness.  Letting go of thoughts so that they can drift through your consciousness allows you to deepen relaxation into the meditative state.

When you are not meditating, you can choose whether or not to attach your focus to the thoughts that are drifting through your consciousness.  Ask yourself, ‘Is this thought that I am having the one that I wish to focus on?’  If the answer is ‘No’ then shift your focus.  If you feel that this is too difficult for you to do, then look for the beauty around you.  Hold the thought in your mind with the awareness of the beauty that is there for you in that moment.  Allow both thoughts to be in your awareness.  Can you find a way to understand, in that precious moment in time, that whatever problem you have in your focus is counterbalanced to some degree by an element of beauty that also exists in that moment for you?  This is true in every moment, no matter what the problem is that you are facing.

Beauty is important in life so that you can see beyond the troublesome energies that try to bombard you.  The media, the naysayers, the negative commentaries, the news – all are trying to get you to focus on something that drains your energy and takes your focus away from beauty.  But you are conscious human beings.  You have the ability to choose where to place your focus.  You can seek beauty where other forces would have you see only negativity.

There is tragedy in the world.  There are uncomfortable things to see and experience.  But there is also always beauty.  Watch a raindrop slide down a windowpane and wonder about Nature rather than curse the thunderstorm.  When you are feeling lonely go out and smile at a stranger or two.  There is beauty in the faces of other people if you but look for it.

Surround yourself with beauty in your home.  Is there a peaceful place where you can enjoy looking around you?  Have you created a haven of beauty that allows you to shut out the outside world?  If not, create that haven as soon as possible.  Use Beauty to create peace for yourself.

And remember to look for the beauty in every moment, even if it is just to look in the mirror and see the perfect human being gazing back at you!

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Lift your vibration and be a blessing!

Sometimes it’s confusing when we hear about ‘raising our vibration’ or ‘frequencies’ or other terms referring to measuring energy.  People seem to throw these ideas around without definition or clarification.

Let’s look at the ‘frequency’ of something or someone.

Have you ever walked into a room and the occupants try to put on a happy face but you can sense that they have been fighting?  Have you every felt someone’s anger even when their answer to your question about what’s wrong was, ‘Nothing’?

These situations are samples of times when you have picked up on the ‘vibes’ in the room, the vibrations created by the frequency of the emotion in the room.  Just as a radio dial has numbers on it that indicate the frequency of a particular radio station, so your internal ‘radio’ has a set of frequency measurements that identify for you what the frequency is that you are sensing.  The smile might tell you visually that everything is fine but your internal sensors are picking up on the energy that maybe things are not so fine.

Now magnify this example to everyone on the planet at a certain time.  If everyone is feeling angry at once, the energy ramps up and it doesn’t feel very good, does it?  If, however, everybody ramped up the energy of Love, can you imagine how good that would feel?  If everyone in your vicinity were projecting the energy of Love at you, what would that feel like?  Pretty darned good.

So now take this and extrapolate to Planet Earth and all her inhabitants.  How would the Planet feel if everyone were thinking thoughts of Love and radiating that energy outward?   Bringing it closer to home, how would your family feel if everyone were radiating the frequency of Love in your home?  Now, since you cannot control everyone in your home, what if you were radiating Love and you were the only one doing so?

YOU could have a positive impact on your own home by radiating Love, even if your spouse or kids bug you or the dog is misbehaving or you are worried about paying the bills.  Simply thinking thoughts of Love raises your vibration and everyone around you can feel it.

It is most important that you focus yourself on your role in raising the energy of Planet Earth in these days.  Start within yourself and raise your own vibration with thoughts of Love.  Radiate this outward and you will see a shift in the people around you.  When they shift to a higher vibrational frequency the impact will start to be felt by the environment – plants and animals and the very air around you all.  (Remember the room where the people had been fighting and how that air held memories of the lower vibrations?)

Everyone who is alive today is being called to lift the vibration of Mother Earth.  Join in this effort by starting to raise your own vibration.  Just for a moment NOW think of the energy of Love and how good it feels.  A momentary thought like this will lift your own vibration and will radiate around you to be a blessing to all!

MUSE-INGS: Oh, how tempting a tantrum can be!

Aren’t there times when you would really like to throw yourself onto the floor and bang your fists while kicking your feet and screaming at the top of your lungs?  Who of us hasn’t seen a little one doing just this and envied them their ability to drop down to the floor in the middle of a department store and let their feelings out?

I remember stepping over my daughter when she threw her tantrums, allowing her to cry herself out.  She got so smart that she would move to a room with a carpet on the floor so that she wasn’t throwing herself down onto a hard kitchen or foyer floor where the tantrum wasn’t so comfortable!

But most adults have eschewed such behavior.  Or have we, really?  Maybe we don’t get down on the floor but do we shut down and ignore others when we are doing our ‘adult pout’?  Do we ‘accidentally’ say or do something that causes hurt to another when what we really want to do is throw ourselves on the floor and scream at the unfairness of it all?

Being honest with yourself, can you see a way in which you might still have some of the strategies you developed as a child working in your life today?  It’s easy to wish that the world was fair – which it is because we all get our share of lessons, some easy, some difficult — and that everyone around us treated us exactly the way we wished they would – which might be easier if we didn’t expect them all to be mind readers.  So what do we do if we find a coping mechanism at work in our life that we no longer desire to choose?

The best strategy to develop is what I call ‘The Pause Button.’  Can you learn to catch yourself reaching into your unconscious database and pulling out an inappropriate response?  Hit The Pause Button so you can be conscious about your choice of reaction/behavior.  This is what the old ‘count to 10’ maxim is all about.  Pause.  Reflect.  Act consciously.

As we move through life we are giving challenges to our personal growth and how we react to stimulus is one of the ongoing life lessons with which we must learn to deal.  What challenges do you face that you must find resources to handle?  Who in your life is bringing you practice lessons in finding your ‘Pause Button’?  And who knows exactly how to ‘push your buttons’ so that you find it nearly impossible to pause?

Challenges are with us.  Our response to challenges can change with each encounter.  Living a Conscious Life requires that we learn to grow through all our experiences.  We’re not allowed to throw ourselves onto the floor and do a tantrum anymore, even when that unconscious little child within is begging to be allowed to do just that.  Find another way.  Think about it now and tell your unconscious mind to latch onto the new, preferred response before it goes back to childhood memories and chooses that old strategy.  Plan to hit ‘The Pause Button’ when somebody pushes your other buttons.  Breathe and consider.  And make sure that your new choice isn’t just an adult form of that toddler’s tantrum on the carpet!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Reach for the Joy!

Dear Ones,

Be joyful today!  Fill your heart and your life with Joy!

Are you concerned that you are not feeling very joyous today?  Are you thinking about your problems or all the issues with which you are wrestling?  Is your ‘to-do’ list taking over your day?

We would tell you that Joy is not something that happens to you.  Joy is not what you feel when everything in your life is going smoothly or going your way.  Completing your ‘to-do’ list does not bring Joy into your life.  YOU bring Joy into your life!

Think about that last sentence.  Joy is not an accident, so you must bring Joy into your own life.  Please do not equate Joy with Happiness for they are not the same.  Happy, sad – these are reactions to what is happening to you or to the circumstances in which you find yourself.  Joy is a sense within yourself that you are connected to the Source of all Love in the Universe, that your Life Plan is unfolding as it should, and that you are connected with your Life Purpose and are living in consonance with this.  Joy resides within you and is always available to you although, at times, you might forget its existence.

Seek Joy because you wish to express it in your outer life.  Find the Joy that is available to you.  And to do this you must first learn to go inside yourself.

Many people fear reaching into their innermost regions because they are afraid of what they will find there.  It is easy to create such a busy life that there is no time to go inside.  It is easy to focus on other people or work or tasks to accomplish before taking the time to do what is called ‘inner work.’  But we would tell you to ask yourself if all the ‘busyness’ is a distraction from your real work.  Ask yourself if you are using other people or work or tasks on your ‘to-do’ list to avoid going inside yourself to do the work required for your own growth.  If you are honest with yourself and you realize that you have been avoiding ‘inner work’ then now is the time to commit to yourself that you will make the time to do it.

For the reward is Joy.  Are you afraid to experience the pain of processing emotionally distressing events from your past?  Are you worried that doing ‘inner work’ will open a floodgate of emotion that you are ill-prepared to handle?  You do not need to do this work alone.  There are others who can assist you on the inner journey to Joy.  And not all processes/techniques require that you feel again the emotions that are within.  Use those emotions as signals that there is something for you to learn and learn the lesson.  The necessity for the emotion then goes away.

Try meditation as a way to go inside to find Joy for your life.  Some are afraid that meditation is a difficult thing to learn or that they are not doing it correctly.  Meditation can be simply stilling an analytical mind long enough to allow a connection to one’s inner being without the distraction of active thinking.  A set of slow breaths can be a meditation.  This does not need to be a formal practice nor does it need to take a long time.  But the benefits of a break in your day to connect with the Inner You can be great.

When you are forgetting that there is Joy deep within you, it might seem more difficult for you to work to access that Joy, but the important thing to remember is that you do not need to seek Joy from an external source.  Joy does not come through substances, people, circumstances, money or success.  Joy does not come and go with the vagaries of daily activity.  Joy is a solid constant within you and all you need to do is to remember that it lives within and that you can always have access to Joy.  Reach inside to find the Joy that lives there.  No matter what is happening in your day, pause and reach for Joy.  Remember that you are always connected to the Source of Love in the Universe.  Remember the connection, reach inside and find the Joy.

May your day be filled with the Joy that awaits you!

And so it is.

BOOK LIGHTS: from “The Power of Focus”

“A friend in Arizona, George Addair, told us about a firefighter who attended one of his self-knowledge workshops.  He said, ‘Firefighters deal with fear every time they prepare to enter a burning building.  Just before they go into action they experience it – the uncertainty of not knowing if they’ll survive or not.  An incredible transformation takes place as soon as they go inside the building.  They literally step into the fear, and because they do, the fear disappears.  They are 100 percent in the present moment.  They are then able to concentrate on fighting the fire, evacuating people and doing all the things they were trained to do.  By confronting their fear, they can focus on the immediate situation and get the job done.'”

by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen

The answer is always ‘Be fully present in this moment NOW.’  That’s where all the resources are.  If you find yourself in fear, ask what is going on in this moment, what you can learn from it, and what the fear has to say to you.  When you are totally present to this moment, you will find the resources you need to move beyond the fear!

MUSE-INGS: What’s the lesson in the fear?

Fear.  That word seems to be popping up in all sorts of ways these days.  Be very afraid of illegal aliens, they say.  Be very afraid of the other political party [‘They’ are very scary!].  Be afraid of extraterrestrials.  Be afraid of the economy.  I could go on and on with the list, pulling stories just from today’s news.  [OK, I haven’t actually heard any extraterrestrial stories today!]

But it seems to me that there are so many ways to be fearful that it’s a chore to avoid fear.  I work very hard at it.  That’s not to say that I don’t sometimes experience fear, but I’m pretty certain there’s never been a saber-toothed tiger chasing me.  So why do we keep ourselves poised in ‘fight or flight’ mode, filled with adrenaline and cortisol, if there aren’t any tigers on our tail?

The stress of living in these days creates its own sense of a saber-toothed tiger chasing us through our lives.  We have constant sources of information being bombarded at us – radio, TV, conversations overheard in line at Starbucks, newspaper headlines on the street corners, internet headlines when we sign in to email.  Even if we choose not to listen to the news or to read the newspapers we can’t avoid hearing what’s happening and it’s always sensationalized, isn’t it?  So our primitive brains think this is the modern day tiger nipping at our heels. Stock market report? Tiger. Housing prices down?  Tiger. Job market tough? Tiger.

So what is a person to do who is trying to live a Conscious Life when they are constantly subjected to negativity?  The first thing to do is to figure out a way to de-stress your life and your body, starting with your thoughts.  How do you react to negativity?  If you take it in to yourself and embrace the negativity as the only possibility, then you have accepted that the field of all possibilities is very small.  What if you were, instead, to look at the negativity as the other side of a coin that has something positive for you to find?  What if the negativity could be observed without being taken in?  Pretend for a moment that you are surrounded by an air-permeable Plexiglas bubble through which you can see what is happening around you but where those happenings cannot penetrate your own private space.  This allows you to observe with detachment.  This also allows you to create the energy vibration of positivity within your own personal space so the negativity doesn’t lower your energy level.  When you’ve done this, you are free to look for the lesson to be learned in the experience.

Have you ever spent time with someone who is constantly focused on bad news or dire predictions or what’s wrong with their life?  Contrast that with how you feel when you are around someone who always sees the silver lining in the cloud above, or who likes people without criticizing them.  There is a huge difference in the energy of these conversations and you can feel that in your own body-mind.  We do tend to want to be with people who are uplifting, don’t we?

There’s a reason for this.  We are all striving in life to bring Light into our selves and our environment.  If you are reading these words, then you are someone who wants to be living a Conscious Life, not drifting through life without learning and growing.  In every moment there is something to learn, whether we are enjoying that moment or not.  There is always a lesson.  When we are feeling happy and joyful, we can look for the lesson to maintain that joy.  When we are feeling low or fearful, we can also look for the lesson so that we can find our way back to happiness and joy.  And as human beings we live in community so we are always hearing or seeing or being with others and their opinions and energy.

Think about the situations you experience in the coming days and notice how you feel.  What makes you feel good?  What makes you feel sad or low or angry?  What causes you fear?  When you can step out of your feelings enough to observe them then you can also see where solutions to problems lie.  When you are feeling happy and joyful look at the lessons that show you what you can replicate so that you can prolong that experience.  And look around you for ways to bring joy to others.  Sometimes thinking of others is all it takes to move one from fear to peace.

The most important thing is to be fully present to the moment that is NOW.   Are you being chased by a saber-toothed tiger or is there some other lesson to be learned?

And please let me know if there actually IS a saber-toothed tiger chasing you —  after you’re safe, of course!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Feeling fear? It’s only a signal to help you live a Conscious Life!

Dear Ones,

There is so much fear in the world in the 21st Century!  We are concerned that some of you know ONLY the feeling of fear, not joy or happiness or peace or contentment.  We wish that you could learn to dispel the fear that arises within you.

Here is why this is so important for you.  Fear is a very limiting emotion.  It causes you to create for yourself scenarios of disaster that have not yet occurred and your body and mind react to these fabrications of doom.  Your physical body must generate chemicals in response to the images that you conjure up in your imagination because that is its job, even though those images are imagined and not real.  Fear is a response to a stimulus, often coming from outside you but sometimes from thoughts of distress that you create yourself.  And there are many who believe that if they can keep you in fear of something [anything!] then they can control you.

Our wish for you, Dear One, is that you be empowered to resist efforts to control you with fear and that you find a way to live in peace, harmony and contentment so that you can, instead, experience joy in your life.  This requires, though, that you learn to use the feeling of fear as a signal that you feel out of control about some situation about which you have expectations.  Think about that statement, for if you have expectations then you are creating possible scenarios in your mind and you are reacting to those imagined scenarios.  What if something else were to happen in the future, something other than the scary scenario that you pictured?  What good would have come from the fear that you generated for yourself?  Think about fear, whether you create it yourself or someone outside of you causes you to feel fear, as merely an indicator that you are to pause and become conscious about your current situation.  Remember, fear is an emotion created in response to thoughts, sometimes to thoughts of a future that has not materialized yet.  Your body only knows that fear means there is danger and its response to danger is to create the ‘fight or flight’ mechanism readiness in your physical body.  In the 21st Century, however, there are probably not as many life or death situations as there were millennia ago in human history.

Practice using the feeling of fear as a signal that you are to examine your current situation and the thoughts that you are having in that moment of feeling fear.  Are you fully in the present moment?  Or are you considering something that has not happened yet or that might or might not occur in the future?  Are you responding to an indicator that there is an action you must take now or are you anticipating a scenario that is not real in the present moment?

If you decide that you are truly in danger, then take the most appropriate action for that situation to remove yourself from the danger.  That is the purpose of feeling fear – an indication that there is something threatening you and you must take an action in that moment.  But considering your options and examining the perceived danger vs. the real danger is an important step in living a Conscious Life.  Are you reacting to a news report because there is an immediate danger to you in your current situation or are you reacting to an attempt to manipulate you into fear so that you will take the action that someone else wishes you to take, while they are hoping that you will not pause and consider the reality of the situation?  Move to safety if there is a tornado heading toward your home but don’t jump to a conclusion about a political situation because someone has told you a piece of information that might not be valid.

We hope that you can see the differences we have pointed out.  USE the feeling of fear to open yourself to wider vistas of possibilities and solutions, not to narrow down your thoughts to the single option proposed by someone else.  And do not be afraid to feel fear – it is a natural human emotion.  DO, however, choose to observe and examine the fear for its message so that you can keep from being controlled by that emotion.

Feel the fear and get the message being offered to you.  THEN take the appropriate action!

And so it is.

BOOK LIGHTS: from “The Power of Focus”

“It seems the headlong rush for material success and all the trappings of a so-called successful life are not enough.  To be truly rich includes not only financial freedom, but developing rich, meaningful relationships, enriching your health, and enjoying a rich balance between your career and your personal life.

The nourishment of your own spirit or soul is also an essential requirement.  This takes time to explore and expand.  It is a never-ending process.  The more you learn about yourself – how you think, how you feel, what your true purpose is and how you want to live – the more your life will flow.”
Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt
Keep learning about yourself, using all the tools you can.  The more you know about yourself the more easily you will flow with life.  Your key to Conscious Living is to become more educated about who you are and what you desire for your life.

BOOK LIGHTS: Richard Gerber, M.D. in “Vibrational Medicine: New Choices for Healing Ourselves”

“Manfred Clynes, a musician researching the link between music and emotions, created an entire science, called Sentics, in order to measure the elusive connection he found so intriguing.  Clynes developed a special finger transducer that could record the pattern of a fingertip’s unconscious downward pressure.  Once connected to the finger transducer, an individual being monitored would listen to certain musical pieces.  Clynes found that particular repeating patterns in fingertip pressure were triggered by various classical musical pieces.  He also discovered that these patterns were associated with certain key emotions.  Interestingly, the recorded patterns taken from transducers hooked to a variety of test subjects indicated that certain musical pieces reliably produced identical emotional patterns in many different people.  In other words, a certain emotionally evocative classical piece reliably induced the same emotion in many different listeners…Clynes’ research validated the fact that particular classical musical pieces could be repeatedly utilized to induce particular altered states of consciousness.  It is likely that bathing people entirely in the musical piece while they are lying on a sound table could be an even more powerful and evocative experience.”

Fascinating!

Mystic Message from The Divine Feminine: Listen to the Music – Consciously!

Dear Ones,

When your heart is open to music, you are open to all of the higher vibrations in the Universe.  When you listen to music without opening your heart, you open yourself to a vulnerability to lower vibrations.  This is one reason that people who truly feel moved by the music they listen to can often more easily open their hearts than those who are not touched by music.

Now we know that some of you are wondering about the new kind of music that the young ones are listening to.  We would tell you that many of them are making themselves vulnerable to undesirable vibrations because of their music.  But many adults would throw out all types of the music the young folks enjoy even though not all are harmful.  The kind of music that makes them vulnerable has a message of lower vibration, frustration and anger and uses certain beats to move this message deeply into the young person’s psyche.  They do not realize that this is happening but it is manifest in them in a surliness and frustration that can turn to anger against those in authority.  Some of this music disturbs the brain waves of the youth so that they are vulnerable to the next encounter they have with someone else, whether that encounter is good or disturbing.

To recognize the effect of the music, listen for yourself and notice how you feel in your heart center of energy.  If you are disturbed, then the music is probably not the healthiest vibration.  Assess, though, whether your reaction is a dislike of the music or a genuine vibrational disturbance.  Then play some music that stirs you in a pleasant way and compare how you feel after that experience.  Do not use this as a way to try to change the young people in your life.  Rather, try to understand what they are experiencing and why they seek that experience.

Now try to find other examples of both types of music and notice how you feel with each.  A particular piece of music from a particular genre might have a different effect on you than another piece of music from the same genre.  Make a list of pieces of music that feel uplifting to you and create a playlist that you can use when you wish to feel uplifted. Make other lists of music that have different effects on your own vibrational level – those that energize you, those that make you feel peaceful and serene, those that assist you in meditation, those that help you think through problems clearly.  There are many ways that music can affect you and the same piece of music might fall on several of your lists.

If you have a young person in your life, take time to listen to some of their music with them. Ask them why they like a particular piece, how it makes them feel.  Share with them how you feel when you hear it, not to criticize or say that they are wrong for we want you to honor their honest feelings, but to demonstrate that different people can react differently to the same stimulus.  Then share some of the music from your list with them and ask them how they feel.  Remember to focus on the heart center.  Share how you feel when you are in the vibration of that music.  Make sure to use this opportunity to have an experience of sharing differences without criticism on either side.

This is a good exercise to do with a partner or loved one as a practice of sharing differences without criticism.  You might find several similar reactions and you might be surprised by differing reactions, even widely differing reactions.  Again, make sure that this is a sharing and that neither party is trying to influence the other.  Notice if there are compromises that can be reached if the two parties choices are very different.  Dinner music, for example, can be something chosen together to relax and aid digestion while each can listen to their particular preferences in their own cars.

Enjoy group experiences of music so that the heart centers of many can become connected in that vibration.  Concerts are so popular because many people are opening their hearts to others and enjoying the connections.  Noticing how music makes one feel is a part of Conscious Living.  We urge you to pay attention to the energy vibrations that you resonate with as a part of your growth in Consciousness.

And so it is.
