THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Send the Judge on vacation and choose Compassion!

Dear Ones,

When you think of other people, are you ‘thinking’ with your mind or are you reaching out to them with your heart?  When you have a ‘thought’ of another person you are actually reaching out, energetically, to them across the distance between you, whether that is across the room or across the ocean.  You might even be thinking of someone who has crossed over to The Other Side and you can connect with them through the veil.

Knowing that your thoughts are creating energy connections, why would you ever think ill of someone else?  How many people seem to believe that their job on Planet Earth is to be the judge of other people!  We want you to think about that – is it REALLY your job to judge others?  When you have looked for guidance about your Life Purpose, is the answer ever really ‘to be the judge of everyone else’?

What if your true job were to love everyone else?  We’re not saying here that you must LIKE every person that you meet or hear about.  But what if you were to hold them in the energy of Love so that they might have the best chance to make the most of their own life, free of judgment from you?  This is a spiritual practice that is worth cultivating.

Many will tell you that you must learn to separate the person from the act or behavior, and this is true, for good people sometimes make choices that you might wish they had not.  But instead of judging a person for that choice, what if you were to hold them in the idea of love, that perhaps they have learned from that choice and would not make the same one in the future?  Could you find a more compassionate space in your heart-mind then?

People around you are judging all the time.  They often think that it is their job to judge YOU.  What do you want them to use for criteria?  Is there any part of you that likes the idea of their judging you from their [limited!] perspective?  No one person knows everything that is going on in another person’s life, no matter how close they are with each other.  No one knows all the thoughts that go through another person’s head before he or she acts or chooses a particular behavior.  No one else knows what you were thinking when you made a decision.  Why do you suppose that you can understand enough about another person to make a judgment about them?

Try giving yourself a vacation from being The Judge.  See what happens when you catch yourself about to say something judgmental about another person.  Reach for the compassionate thing to say instead and see how you feel.

Expressing compassion for another is not only the wise choice to make, it also brings a benefit to you.  The energy of judgment is narrow and constricting.  The energy of compassion is expansive.  What kind of energy do you want to have at work in your body and spirit when you have a choice?  Choose compassion.

And remember that what you put out into the world is the energy of what you attract to yourself.  If you reach out with compassion to others you will receive that expansive energy of compassion back into your own energy field.

Ahhhhh, doesn’t that feel better?

MUSE-INGS: Going ‘Home’!

I know the feeling of being ‘home’ when I step onto the Big Island of Hawaii.  Every time, and I’ve been there often, it creates such a feeling of peace just to touch the Earth there.  I’ve had some amazing spiritual experiences in the Hawaiian Islands and have loved being there, even the week that was rainy from start to finish. I probably learned the most spiritual lessons that week! And every visit since then has held even greater learnings for me.

But lately I’ve been feeling drawn to the West Coast of America, and that’s a bit of a surprise to me.  Having spent most of my life in the DC area, I never thought I’d consider living near LA but that’s on the radar screen.  So why is this coming up at this time in my life?  Am I supposed to move there immediately?  What about this house in Colorado where we live now?

Have you ever felt drawn to move or to travel or to be somewhere other than where you are in a given moment?  I think Mother Earth is calling each of us to be in the spot where she can support us more fully as we go through the coming changes.  It might be near to where we currently live or it might be thousands of miles away.  We might even need to split our time between 2 homes to tap into different Earth energy depending on the time of year and our activities.  I once felt an overwhelming urge to visit Hawaii and a week later we were on a plane!  That was the trip where we met a Kahuna and had some wonderful experiences.

Where are you feeling that you should visit?  Or do you feel that you are nearing the time to make a move?  Is some external event or person causing you to change where you live?  This is all wonderful, even if the circumstances don’t FEEL wonderful at the moment!  You are receiving guidance from the Universe about your next move.  You are being led to the next home, the place where Mother Earth can cradle you in her arms and nurture you with her loving energy.  Whether the cause of the move is economic, emotional or expedient doesn’t matter.  Trust that you are being helped to the place where you need to be for the time being.

There are no accidents.  Whatever is happening to indicate that you need to be somewhere on Mother Earth other than exactly where you are now is a sign that you are on the spiritual path of personal growth.  And if you feel perfectly content in the exact spot where you now are, then you can relax and enjoy the connection and the nurturing/nourishing energy that comes from the Mother.  Where are you planning  to visit on your next trip?   Do you have a feeling that maybe you should go somewhere soon?  Maybe the time isn’t right yet but you feel that the time is coming.  In that case, you might want to get a picture of the place to which you feel drawn and post it on your vision board, or above your desk, so that you can send a message to Mother Earth letting her know that you hear her call and that you agree to follow that call when the time is right.

Get ready to pack your bags!  Whether moving your home or visiting somewhere else, Mother Earth will support you wherever you go!

Dear Ones,

Where in the world of Planet Earth do you consider your ‘home’?  Have you thought about having a ‘home’ that has nothing to do with the house in which you live?  We would tell you that ‘home’ is a word describing where your connection to Mother Earth is felt the strongest.

Many people think that home is where their job is, or even where their family of origin lives or originated.  But this is a limited understanding of ‘home.’  Your job and your family do not define you – your Life Purpose, the reason you incarnated on Planet Earth in a human body – this defines you.  You came to the Planet to be the person that you are at your core and that person lives in a resonance with many places on Planet Earth.  But at any single time, there is a single place on  Earth that is your spiritual home.  This is the place that feeds your spirit, that energizes you and uplifts you and helps you to sort through confusion.  For some of you this place is near or within the home/house in which you currently dwell.  For others, it might be a place that you visit on holiday, or that you remember fondly from a previous experience.  Some of you might not have found yet a place on Earth that feeds your spirit in this way.

Finding and connecting with your ‘home on Earth’ is an important action for you to take during your lifetime.  This quest begins with questioning yourself about how fulfilling you feel your present life is.  If you feel that there is something missing, if you are always busy but not accomplishing that which you desire to accomplish, if you are feeling unhappy but the outward signals indicate that you ‘should’ feel happy, then perhaps you are not yet connected with your ‘home on Earth.’  Have you ever felt that connection?  Have you ever felt so at peace in a certain location that you really didn’t want to leave it?  This is how it feels when you are connected to your spiritual home on Earth.

Now you might have had this experience often, especially when you are relaxed on vacation or visiting an exotic locale.  We are not saying that there is only one place on Earth that is your home for your whole lifetime.  You might find that at different times different places on Earth resonate with you.  There might be many such locations, and you do not necessarily have to live permanently at one of these.  But for you to feel your strongest connection to Mother Earth, you must visit the place that you determine to be your spiritual home at a given time.

Can you name that place right now?  Do you know where you would go if tomorrow you were given an airplane ticket to Your Spiritual Home on Earth and told to get there quickly?  Whatever your answer to that is implies whether or not you have yet connected.  You might even know innately where that place is without having previously visited there.  And the place that seems to call you today might not be the same place that last year or 10 years ago was the place that seemed to be your spiritual home, for you have been growing and expanding your awareness over time and your need for Earth connection can change.

Many people think of India or Hawaii as the most spiritual places on Earth, and they certainly hold that kind of energy.  But did you know that YOUR strongest connection to Mother Earth might call you to Boise, Idaho or London, England or Miami, Florida?  It is not just those locations that look like spiritual places that call a human being to them.  There are many other factors, including the Earth energies in different places.  Some people can feel an energy vortex in Sedona, Arizona for example and others feel peaceful floating in a boat on the waters of Alaska.  Some feel the power of a huge waterfall while others need to be within the sight of the Rocky Mountains.

What is important is that each individual find the place on Earth at this time that feeds their spirit, that nourishes them with the energies of Mother Earth, and that they find time to visit that location and allow their physical bodies to absorb the energy of their ‘home.’  It is also important to remove yourself from a spot that feels as if it drains your energy.  Are you living somewhere that does not support you?  Are you longing to visit or live somewhere else?  Pay attention to those feelings.

Not only might you find that connecting to Mother Earth’s special energy for you gives you motivation to take action in your life but you also might find that your Life, your Relationships and your Business/Career/Work will be energized because they are supported in additional ways.

And maybe you just need to relax at the most relaxing spot on the Earth that calls to you today!

And so it is.

Dear Ones,

There is so much fear in the world in the 21st Century!  We are concerned that some of you know ONLY the feeling of fear, not joy or happiness or peace or contentment.  We wish that you could learn to dispel the fear that arises within you.

Here is why this is so important for you.  Fear is a very limiting emotion.  It causes you to create for yourself scenarios of disaster that have not yet occurred and your body and mind react to these fabrications of doom.  Your physical body must generate chemicals in response to the images that you conjure up in your imagination because that is its job, even though those images are imagined and not real.  Fear is a response to a stimulus, often coming from outside you but sometimes from thoughts of distress that you create yourself.  And there are many who believe that if they can keep you in fear of something [anything!] then they can control you.

Our wish for you, Dear One, is that you be empowered to resist efforts to control you with fear and that you find a way to live in peace, harmony and contentment so that you can, instead, experience joy in your life.  This requires, though, that you learn to use the feeling of fear as a signal that you feel out of control about some situation about which you have expectations.  Think about that statement, for if you have expectations then you are creating possible scenarios in your mind and you are reacting to those imagined scenarios.  What if something else were to happen in the future, something other than the scary scenario that you pictured?  What good would have come from the fear that you generated for yourself?  Think about fear, whether you create it yourself or someone outside of you causes you to feel fear, as merely an indicator that you are to pause and become conscious about your current situation.  Remember, fear is an emotion created in response to thoughts, sometimes to thoughts of a future that has not materialized yet.  Your body only knows that fear means there is danger and its response to danger is to create the ‘fight or flight’ mechanism readiness in your physical body.  In the 21st Century, however, there are probably not as many life or death situations as there were millennia ago in human history.

Practice using the feeling of fear as a signal that you are to examine your current situation and the thoughts that you are having in that moment of feeling fear.  Are you fully in the present moment?  Or are you considering something that has not happened yet or that might or might not occur in the future?  Are you responding to an indicator that there is an action you must take now or are you anticipating a scenario that is not real in the present moment?

If you decide that you are truly in danger, then take the most appropriate action for that situation to remove yourself from the danger.  That is the purpose of feeling fear – an indication that there is something threatening you and you must take an action in that moment.  But considering your options and examining the perceived danger vs. the real danger is an important step in living a Conscious Life.  Are you reacting to a news report because there is an immediate danger to you in your current situation or are you reacting to an attempt to manipulate you into fear so that you will take the action that someone else wishes you to take, while they are hoping that you will not pause and consider the reality of the situation?  Move to safety if there is a tornado heading toward your home but don’t jump to a conclusion about a political situation because someone has told you a piece of information that might not be valid.

We hope that you can see the differences we have pointed out.  USE the feeling of fear to open yourself to wider vistas of possibilities and solutions, not to narrow down your thoughts to the single option proposed by someone else.  And do not be afraid to feel fear – it is a natural human emotion.  DO, however, choose to observe and examine the fear for its message so that you can keep from being controlled by that emotion.

Feel the fear and get the message being offered to you.  THEN take the appropriate action!

MUSE-INGS: Pay Attention to the Signs

Isn’t it easy to brush off the signals that the Universe is giving us?  How often do we ignore the signs or ask for guidance and then forget to notice the answers are right before our eyes?  I’ve been guilty, I admit!

There are so many sources of information around us that I think sometimes, when we get in information overload, we tune out the important channels of guidance available to us.  The news media outlets are too disturbing to watch.  Even the Weather Channel is getting to be more sensational about the weather, instead of educational about weather in general.  Every day the pile of mail we receive is filled with information for us to process.  How do we shut down the peripheral sources and focus in on the main event?

This is part of learning to live a Conscious Life.  Tune out the extraneous bombardment.  Focus on the important channels of information.  Decide what these are for YOU, for they might be different for each individual.  I have a friend who takes amazing pictures of cloud formations over Pikes Peak here in Colorado Springs.  She finds fantastic forms in these clouds that help her as she interprets their meaning in her life.  Others go for hikes in the beautiful mountains and see signs everywhere they look in Nature.  Another friend asks for guidance and then sees newspaper headlines or reports on television that speak directly to him.

What’s your source of guidance?  Have you ever paid attention to the signs that are around you?  What about the animals that you see in a day?  Have you asked yourself what you were thinking about just before you saw that animal?  Could there be a connection?

For me, a hawk seems to appear when I have just thought or spoken about something that needs confirmation.  The hawk means, ‘Yes!’  My sister used to pray to St. Theresa and she would receive a rose somehow, St. Theresa’s symbol.  What is your ‘confirmation sign’?  If you don’t have one yet, then spend the next several days paying attention.  Ask a question and see what happens around you.  Notice the animals that come into your life.  Look and listen for repeating patterns and see what they are showing you.

Meditation is a good way to open yourself to signals.  Try taking a few minutes to focus on your breath and then ask for your particular channel of guidance to be revealed to you, or that you be shown your ‘confirmation sign.’  Don’t worry if it’s not immediately apparent to you – it might be subtle and might take a few reinforcements for you to believe that the sign is real.  You might try drawing a card from an oracle deck or using a pendulum or some other dowsing tool.  Remember that dowsing is not just for finding water these days!

If you have a friend that you can talk to, share your exploration of the signs around you.  Maybe that special song from your youth will start playing on the radio.  Maybe a hawk, or coyote, or rabbit will cross your path.

And all you have to do is pay attention!

Dear Ones,

You must pay attention to the signals that you are receiving at all times from the Universe and from those advisors who are wishing to help you live a more conscious life.  There are always signals.  You might dismiss them as coincidence or happenstance.  You might not always recognize that they are indeed signs from your personal guidance channels, but they are available to you when you look for them.

You might ask why this is so important.  Don’t you know?  How often have you felt that you are adrift alone in a sea of confusion?  Have you ever wondered where there might be guidance for you?  We would have you understand that all that is around you can be a source of information for you.

In many traditions the animals are carriers of messages.  It is often the qualities or characteristics of the animal in nature that are reflected as the information that carries a message for you.  When you see an eagle can you ask yourself how you can use the extraordinary vision of an eagle to pierce a veil over your own eyes about some situation in your life?  When you see a gentle deer eating grass in a field, can you ask if you need to be gentle with yourself or another?  These are the kinds of questions that you can ask yourself to use the quality of an animal in nature as a guide for you in that moment.

When you ask for guidance, do you pay attention to what happens next in your life?  Have you ever asked for information to help you make a decision and then seen something in the media that relates to the question you just asked?  Or have you received a phone call from a friend or loved one telling you something that relates to your question?

These are not coincidences, Dear Ones!  These are messages.  They might be subtle or they might be obvious, but the messages are there. Some people see their answers in headlines or billboards or TV notices.  Others watch cloud formations and see the answers there.  Some people use cards or pendulums or other tools.  Still others set up tests by asking for a particular sign.  Some people ask for something impossible to confirm what they are thinking.  There are many avenues.

The important message for us to convey here is that YOU have opportunities throughout your day to receive guidance from sources beyond your usual ones.  All that is unfolding about you in any given day has meaning for you.  There are no accidents.  Every animal that crosses your path, every piece of jewelry that you use to adorn your body, the color of clothes that you choose to wear on a particular day.  All of these have meaning in your life.

Have you ever been in a group and had several people in that group wearing the same color clothing?  Do you think that is an accident or do you think that something greater is at work?  We would tell you that it is always the latter.  There is an energy about each day that sensitive people can pick up on and they will choose to wear a color that reflects that energy, even when that choice is an unconscious one.  At other times, a particular person will need the support of the energy of a different color and will wear something that others are not wearing.  This, too, is a way of demonstrating that the guidance for that individual reflects what they need at that moment.

Jewelry is another way that one can ‘tune in’ to the energy needed at a particular time.  Crystals and gems and minerals carry specific energy with them and those who have a selection of jewelry from which to choose each day may find themselves feeling led to choose particular jewelry for particular situations, again, even unconsciously.  There are many books that speak of the qualities of different gems but the books are not the authority for what one needs in a given moment – the guidance from the Universe will lead an individual to choose what is needed if one allows it to.

And there is the key:  Each day, allow the Universe to guide you to your messages.  Trust that everything around you has significance.  Tune in to see what color you should wear, what jewelry or crystals you should have in your own energy field that day.    The more you practice this the more ‘tuned in’ you will become.  And pay attention to what happens around you each day.  What animals are in your sphere?  What words do you keep hearing today?

Then ask, ‘What is the message in this for me?’  There is a blessing for you in paying attention to these messages!

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Pause and Make a Conscious Decision

It seems we are constantly being given choices about with whom to spend time and how we wish to spend that time.  There are so many opportunities for activities that we could be busy all the time, if we wished.  Many object that they don’t have a partner or they don’t have the money to do things but there are many activities that do not require money or a partner.  We are always at the point of choice about how we are spending our time.

We might have a job where the people do not feel supportive, but we are choosing to work there for the paycheck or the prestige or whatever the reason is, including that there are not very many other jobs.  Or we might be out of work at the moment wishing that we had a job to complain about but perhaps this is the Universe’s way to protect us from being around a vibration that is toxic to us and to our spiritual and personal growth.  Maybe you are in a relationship with friends, a partner, a family member and that relationship seems to drag you down or keep you from moving forward as you like.  Perhaps the food you are eating makes you feel heavier instead of lighter, and we are not discussing weight here, but how you feel, what your vibration is.

Consider that the vibratory frequency of Love is a high vibration.  It becomes a conscious choice for awakened individuals to move their own vibration to this level.  It doesn’t happen by accident for adults who are dragging a lot of Life’s baggage around with them.  And this level of Love vibration starts with loving oneself.

Is all this talk of ‘Love vibration’ starting to sound like the Summer of ’69 talk to you?  Think about what was happening then, beyond Woodstock and drugs.  There was a feeling that we all need a way to feel peaceful.  We need to learn to love each other and ourselves.  People were trying out communal living as a way to band together with like-minded individuals and create community.  We were all searching for something, at least, those of us who were alive then were searching.

Maybe we have become more sophisticated since then or maybe we have become distracted, but now we have an understanding about how to gain that peaceful feeling.  And we can create community on the Internet or at spiritual centers or by gathering like-minded people together without having to live in a commune.

We can meditate, individually or in a group, and raise our own vibration.  We can teach our children to meditate so that they have a tool to overcome the denseness of the world.  We can talk with others about loftier topics than the weather or the latest reality TV show.  These are all choices.  We can watch movies that make us feel good, whether with Netflix or On Demand or in a theater, and we can share the experience with others.  Book clubs abound now with people wanting to have discussions, to gather around a topic and discuss ideas rather than other people.

Love yourself.  Start there to focus on raising your own vibration.  Love yourself enough to pay attention to the signals that you intuitively feel about people, places, entertainment, food.  Open your heart to those around you, not to allow yourself to be demeaned or abused but to genuinely start with Love in your heart for ALL around you.  And then make a determination about how you feel in the presence of others.  Decide consciously whether or not to spend time with them.  Decide how you feel about a proposed activity – are you going along with the crowd or does it really feel like something you wish to spend your precious time participating in?  And then think about the food and drink that you put in your body.  Take a moment before you eat to really assess how you feel about ingesting that food.  Get yourself relaxed and peaceful before you eat anything so that you can be conscious about eating.

Try all this and see how you feel a month from now!

Dear Ones,

When hearts are full of Love then the choices one makes follow the vibration of Love.  We are not speaking here of only Love relationships; we are meaning that all choices in one’s life, from Love relationships to entertainment choices to food one eats.

Let us explain.  When you are in the vibration of the Love energy you will naturally want to choose to match that vibration in all that you do.  When you are with people who are also vibrating at the frequency of Universal Love then you will feel comfortable with them.  When, however, you are with those who are focused on greed or anger or hatred then you will feel the differential in vibrational energy and it will feel discordant, uncomfortable or even jarring to you.  This is why we repeatedly advise you to make conscious choices about those with whom you associate.

This is true of the relationships you have and of the workplace in which you work.  If you are in the company of those who cannot raise their own vibrations to the higher level of the Love frequency, then you cannot do it for them.  You must make a conscious choice about whether or not to continue the association.

You will find that the food you eat will gradually become food of a higher vibration, too.  You will find yourself wishing to eat foods that are lighter, less dense or heavy.  This is not to say that you will not desire a variety of food because there are times when your physical body requires a heavier vibration food to keep you feeling grounded and whole.  But as you work on yourself, as you strive to live a Conscious Life on Planet Earth, you will naturally find yourself desiring to eat foods that are as close to Nature as you can get them.  This means that you will look for produce that is fresh, has fewer chemicals, has been grown locally or near to your home.  You will be happier with lighter meals sometimes than perhaps you are used to.  And you will find that it is not a burden to you to eat this way – it will naturally follow when you raise your natural vibration.

When you choose an entertainment, you will want that to be uplifting as well as enjoyable.  This does not mean that all you must do is sit at home and read spiritual books.  But it does mean that the times that you choose to go out you will make a conscious choice about where you feel comfortable, rather than following whatever someone else suggests.  It means that when you choose to watch a television program or a movie that you will allow yourself to be led by your own inner guidance about what is contained in that program or movie and you will make a conscious choice about whether or not you wish to fill yourself with the images that choice contains.

You might be surprised that your likes and dislikes start to change over time after you commit to live the Conscious Life.  Your friends, associates and loved ones might also be surprised.  Are you ready for that?  Are you willing to possibly open yourself to teasing or even ridicule for choosing a lifestyle that supports your spiritual work?  We hope that you are, for when you wish to raise your own vibration you are doing so not only for your own good but the good of the entire Planet.

All humanity benefits from every human being who lifts herself or himself up to a higher vibration.  Mother Earth has been waiting a very long time for this shift in human consciousness and the time is now for individuals to wake up and uplift!

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Focus on the Joy!

How easy it is to focus our attention on the things that need to be fixed or on the painful things that we wish were different!  We can get so caught up in wishing something would change that we forget how powerful we are to change how we think about a situation.

My wonderful Mom, Gloria Robertson, always saw silver linings.  One of her favorite sayings was, ‘Everything always works out for the best.’  And the other thing she said often was,

‘As a rule, Man’s a fool,
When it’s hot he wants it cool.
When it’s cool he wants it hot,
Always wishing what is not.’

My Mom was a very wise woman.  We spend so much time wishing things were different when really the only thing we need to change is how we think about things.  I remember my Mom, towards the end of her life, deciding that she would only worry about those things that it was in her power to make different.  She had an appointment with her doctor who asked her what had changed because her health had improved.  She said, ‘I’ve adopted a new attitude – NMP.’  When he asked what ‘NMP’ stood for, she answered, ‘Not My Problem.’

It is very freeing to look around and decide what is ours to work on and what is beyond our control or what belongs to someone else to handle.  And it is very empowering to take charge of those things that ARE our own to deal with.  Not everything around us requires that we take charge of it.  Not everything is ours to handle or to fix.  Sometimes another person needs to learn to help himself or herself.  Sometimes someone else needs to learn a lesson by handling something their own way.  Sometimes ‘good enough’ is okay – it doesn’t always have to be perfect.  Sometimes another person just wants to be left alone and it needs to be okay with us to allow that.  And sometimes another person needs company and we need to be beyond ourselves enough to see that and to offer the company without judgment.

Look around you today and see if there isn’t some joy to be found in every conscious moment.  What can you do to make yourself smile?  Is there someone you can help?  Is there some situation that you can laugh at?  Can you laugh at yourself or do you always take yourself terribly seriously?  Is there an animal to watch?  A flower to notice?  Music to enjoy?  What can you feel gratitude about in this moment now?

Adopting the attitude that there is always some joy to be found will bring happiness into your life.  And if you are truly struggling to find something about which to feel good, then get out your sense of humor and remember a time when you laughed and laughed at something you thought was hilariously funny.  All you need to do is remember and you will be smiling again.

Keep a stock of funny movies or joke books or funny emails that you’ve received and get them out when you truly cannot find anything to give you joy.  One joke, one laugh, is all it takes to shift your energy.  One look out the window and you will find something to delight in, no matter how small it might seem.  Remember, that if you spend all of your energy thinking about what you don’t want, the Universe won’t know what to bring you from the list of what you DO want.  Energize the aspects of this moment that you want to magnify in your life.  Experience delight and you will have more delight.  Focus on joy and you will have more joy in your life.  That’s how things work!

Dear Ones,

There is joy to be found in every moment of your time on Planet Earth if you will but search for the joy instead of dwelling on the painful aspects of that moment.

Are you in a place where you feel there is only pain?  Then we would tell you to look outside the window into the wider world and find one thing to delight in.  Is there a flower in bloom?  Is there an animal or bird to watch?  Is someone walking by and can you determine their story from their posture?  If you cannot see out a window at the moment, then look around you and find one thing to be grateful for.  Do you have all your fingers?  Be grateful for that.  Are you able to see or hear or taste?  Be grateful for that.  If there is a sense that does not work so well for you, then do not dwell on what you do not have but, rather, think about that which does work.

What joy has there been in your life in the last hour?  Day?  Month?  Year?  If you were to make a list of things big and small that have brought you delight there would be many things, from the simple meal that you enjoyed when you were so hungry to the smile on the face of the recipient of a gift you gave.  It might be the good news from the doctor about a loved one’s health or the happiness you felt when an old friend got in touch with you.  There is always something to focus on when you look for something that was a joy in your life, even if, at this moment, you can only think of small joys.

What we are wanting you to learn is that joy comes into every life but must be noticed before it can have an affect.  If you spend your precious moments of Life focusing on what is lacking or what is painful or that which you wish were different you will miss the joy that is available at all times for you.  If you find yourself always focused away from this present moment, either dwelling in the past or worrying about something that has not happened yet in the future, then, again, you will be missing the joy that is available in this present moment.

All you ever have, Dear Ones, is this present moment.  What has happened in the past has been a stepping stone that you have used to arrive at the present moment.  What will happen in the future will be shaped by the energy that you send out in this present moment.  Dwell only on this moment.  Ask yourself, ‘Where is the joy to be found in this moment?’  Even if you are in tears about something sad that has happened, bring your attention to something around you that has a positive effect on this moment.  Even if you are sad or depressed or struggling with Life, bring your focus onto something that can make you think a life-affirming thought.

This is why so many people have pets in their lives.  This is especially important for those who live alone, without other human companions in their homes.  A person with a pet has a reason to arise every morning and has someone to greet them every time they return to their house.  They must be concerned with having food in the house for the pet.  They must return home to care for the pet.  The moments watching the antics of a pet can be joyous!

Everyone needs to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning.  If you find yourself struggling to do that, then create a good reason.  If you love to arise and face the day but find yourself feeling lonely in the evening, then create a way to find joy in those moments alone.  If you are in a job or relationship with people who feel as if they are dragging you down, then do something about the situation.  If you can’t change situations today, then spend your focus finding something, anything about which you can feel joy or delight.

It is up to you to find the joy in the present moment.  Moments are fleeting.  If you look away from the sunset you will miss the spectacular colors.  If you are not looking at the bird feeder at the right moment you will miss the hummingbird.  Take time to look around you for the reason to feel joy.  We guarantee that it is there, even if it seems insignificant at first!

And so it is.
