MUSE-INGS: What You Give, You Receive

Each of us CAN have a great impact on the world around us but it is so easy to become insular and forgetful of our place in the greater scheme of things.  Sometimes it feels as if we are alone, sometimes as if the crowds are crushing us, and sometimes we can feel both at the same time.  Yet we can choose to ‘be peace’ in a particular situation and to reap the benefits of that.

It is true that we receive as we give out.  What we give we get back multiplied.  This applies not just with money but with words, with energies.  We treat someone nicely and they treat the next person nicely, and the next person we encounter treats us nicely.  It is very simple, really.

On a grander scheme, if we meditate on Peace and Love, we enhance the energy of those vibrations.  There are studies showing the impact a group of meditators can have on the crime rate of a city, and it takes only 1 % of the residents meditating to have that positive impact.  If you and I agree that on a certain day we will focus on Peace for 5 minutes, imagine the impact we could have.  What if we each got 10 people to do that, and each of them got 10 people to do it, too?  We could have an impact.  As a matter of fact, I think I will propose this project on Facebook and choose a time, such as the Spring Equinox or Summer Solstice, where everyone can pause for 5 minutes and focus on Peace for Planet Earth.  If we all did this, and invited our friends to join us, we could have a rolling 5 minutes of Peace around the Planet for every time zone just as the Equinox or Solstice peaked.

So what can you do every day to participate in sharing the frequency of Peace and Love in your immediate world?  Can you greet people from a place of acceptance in your heart?  Can you drive your vehicle with tolerance and love toward others on the road?  How about picking up the telephone and calling someone just to let them know you were thinking of them with love or fondness?  How about, instead of raging at someone who has made a mistake or who has frustrated you today, you choose to take a deep breath and then create in your mind a reason why they might have done that and forgive them?

It doesn’t take long before acting this way becomes a habit.  You can shift your automatic pilot to react with peaceful feelings if you become aware of your instinctual reactions and pause before you act on them.  Learning to ‘hit the pause button’ is the first step to Conscious Living.  Focus this week on catching yourself about to slip into some negative energy and refocus that energy in a positive direction.  Wouldn’t you expect to have a positive week if that’s what kind of energy you put out there?

As a caveat, please do not equate a week of ‘smooth sailing’ with no glitches to be a positive week.  Those are nice, but Life brings with it many challenges, big and small.  It is not about what is thrown at us, but about how we respond to those challenges that make us evolving, conscious human beings.  Choose to respond in a positive fashion and others will react to you this way.

As an example, I had a frustrating visit to a 5-star hotel in California this week.  It started with my entering my assigned room and finding it already occupied, including dog!  There were several other mishaps and frustrations but I tried to maintain a peaceful attitude and asked specifically for the remedies I expected, all the while being friendly to the staff with whom I was interacting.  In every case they took care to offer me more than adequate recompense.  I suspect that if I had stormed and screamed they would not have been so generous.  And others who had problems were reluctant to bring it to the attention of management, but this is not spreading peace because they were feeling extreme frustration and anger.

So choose how you react to what comes to you in Life.  And choose that that reaction be one that spreads the vibration of Peace and Love around you.  The Planet will thank you and you will receive the benefits.

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: You impact the Planet – speak Peace!

Dear Ones,

The 21st Century represents the dawn of a new era in the evolution of human consciousness.  For previous centuries the individuals have been learning about their own lives and what is required of them to grow and survive on Planet Earth.  In the 18-20th Centuries people traveled farther from home and learned about other cultures to a much greater extent than had been previously possible, except for a few explorers.  In the 21st Century, the entire Planet is connected via airwaves and computer networks and satellites.

An individual can no longer consider himself or herself to be a separate entity, one who can make choices without affecting the rest of humanity.  No human being is a totally separate entity.  In fact, no one ever has been, but the connections have not been as vast as they are in the 21st Century.

Each individual must consider the repercussions of every action that they take, not only on their immediate environment but also on the Planet as a whole and on all the other peoples of Earth.  Every step upon the Planet leaves an impact.  We are not talking here of just the environment as Nature and soil and air and water.  No, we are talking as well about the energetic environment on Planet Earth.  When a person or a group of people engage in activities that stir up hatred and dissension that energy has a ripple effect around the Earth.  And when a person or a group of people engage in activities that generate peace and love that energy, too, has an effect around the world.

Imagine that you are one individual who can affect the energy of the entire world with your thoughts and actions and the energy that you generate.  Why would you then generate negative energy, or hatred, or anger and let that energy move around the Planet affecting the whole world?  But if you focused your thoughts and activities on generating peace and love and acceptance and tolerance, imagine the impact that would be felt around the Planet.

Do not think that one person can have no impact on all the others on the Planet or on the Planet herself.  Think of those individuals who have single-handedly led groups of people into slaughtering other groups, or who have created economic conditions that caused the death of many people.  In the 21st Century there are those who are having such an effect in their countries that many people are dying because of politics or the exercise of power or the greed of leaders.  If one person can have a vast effect in the negative sense, then the laws of energy would indicate that one person can also have a vast effect in a positive way.

Be that one person yourself.  You do not have to be in the news programs.  You do not have to be or become famous.  You do not have to be wealthy.  Focus your energy on being peace and love and acceptance and tolerance, to those immediately around you and in a general sense toward the whole world.  Your example will inspire others. When you treat those around you with these energies they will, in turn, spread that vibration of energy to their circle.

Be careful of your speech. Catch yourself before you utter the words that would counteract the energy of peace and love.  Notice how your speech patterns are reflecting the energy of peace and love.  Consciously choose to think and speak of these higher vibrations.

We do not say this only for the good of the Planet Earth.  There is a benefit to you as an individual as well, for the vibration that you cast into the atmosphere around you is multiplied and returned to you magnified – be careful what level of vibration you cast into the atmosphere!

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Conscious Listening

Music.  Interesting topic for the Mystic Message.  I must admit that I was wondering where that message would go with respect to what the kids listen to.  I guess my prejudices were popping up.

But how wonderful to use music as a springboard to discussion and sharing with others in our life!  All of Life is about energy and vibration.  The foods we eat, the colors we wear, whether we are feeling ‘up’ or ‘down’ are all relating to our energy fields and the vibrations in them.  Quantum Physics is telling us a lot about our environments from a vibrational standpoint.  I was a Chemistry major for a bit in college [couldn’t stand Chem Lab so ended up in Math – no labs!] and I studied the ‘new’ information available about atoms and particles like protons and electrons.  The information that has since been discovered [it’s been a lot of years!] gives us a much greater understanding of energy and the properties of atoms, including the particles smaller than protons and electrons.  And Quantum Physics tells us a lot about the effect of the vibration of our thoughts on the rest of the Universe around us.

When we start to understand energy, and one doesn’t need to be an expert in Quantum Physics to do so, we begin to see what effects different vibrations can have on the people and the spaces around us.  Have you ever walked into a room and felt the vibration of anger even though the occupants turn to you with smiles on their faces?  Can’t you feel that they were just fighting but have put on a face for you that doesn’t match their internal vibrational energy?  Now think about music and how you feel in a room that has had lovely high-vibrational music playing in it for awhile, classical or relaxing jazz or calming new age music.  How does it feel to walk into that room?  Have you ever walked into a bar with loud music that does not appeal to you playing over big speakers, with the occupants shouting to be heard over the music, bouncing off hard surfaces?  Doesn’t that feel a bit jarring?  Contrast that with the quiet music of calming vibrations in a fabric-filled room in a restaurant designed to encourage you to relax and dine at a leisurely pace – how does that feel?

At our house, we often leave relaxing music playing when we go out so that the energy will feel calm when we return.  This also helps the pets left in the house to relax while we are gone.  Sometimes when I have cleaning to do or organizing or some activity that requires me to be upbeat and energetic I’ll put on Golden Oldies that I used to dance to [many years ago when they weren’t Oldies!]  This energizes me into action.  The music I choose to listen to in the car is related to how I feel and what I need from the music.  It might be the 60s station on satellite radio, might be kirtan chants on CDs, or the 40s station to remind me of my Dad who played in a big band in the 30s-40s.

Notice how you use music and how you could use music if you were choosing consciously.  Pay attention to the music choices that others around you are making, giving you a hint of how they are feeling or what they are, possibly unconsciously, needing from the energy of the music.  You might learn something about them that they would not verbalize or might not know themselves.

Conscious Living requires that we be aware and conscious of all aspects of our lives, even music!

Mystic Message from The Divine Feminine: Listen to the Music – Consciously!

Dear Ones,

When your heart is open to music, you are open to all of the higher vibrations in the Universe.  When you listen to music without opening your heart, you open yourself to a vulnerability to lower vibrations.  This is one reason that people who truly feel moved by the music they listen to can often more easily open their hearts than those who are not touched by music.

Now we know that some of you are wondering about the new kind of music that the young ones are listening to.  We would tell you that many of them are making themselves vulnerable to undesirable vibrations because of their music.  But many adults would throw out all types of the music the young folks enjoy even though not all are harmful.  The kind of music that makes them vulnerable has a message of lower vibration, frustration and anger and uses certain beats to move this message deeply into the young person’s psyche.  They do not realize that this is happening but it is manifest in them in a surliness and frustration that can turn to anger against those in authority.  Some of this music disturbs the brain waves of the youth so that they are vulnerable to the next encounter they have with someone else, whether that encounter is good or disturbing.

To recognize the effect of the music, listen for yourself and notice how you feel in your heart center of energy.  If you are disturbed, then the music is probably not the healthiest vibration.  Assess, though, whether your reaction is a dislike of the music or a genuine vibrational disturbance.  Then play some music that stirs you in a pleasant way and compare how you feel after that experience.  Do not use this as a way to try to change the young people in your life.  Rather, try to understand what they are experiencing and why they seek that experience.

Now try to find other examples of both types of music and notice how you feel with each.  A particular piece of music from a particular genre might have a different effect on you than another piece of music from the same genre.  Make a list of pieces of music that feel uplifting to you and create a playlist that you can use when you wish to feel uplifted. Make other lists of music that have different effects on your own vibrational level – those that energize you, those that make you feel peaceful and serene, those that assist you in meditation, those that help you think through problems clearly.  There are many ways that music can affect you and the same piece of music might fall on several of your lists.

If you have a young person in your life, take time to listen to some of their music with them. Ask them why they like a particular piece, how it makes them feel.  Share with them how you feel when you hear it, not to criticize or say that they are wrong for we want you to honor their honest feelings, but to demonstrate that different people can react differently to the same stimulus.  Then share some of the music from your list with them and ask them how they feel.  Remember to focus on the heart center.  Share how you feel when you are in the vibration of that music.  Make sure to use this opportunity to have an experience of sharing differences without criticism on either side.

This is a good exercise to do with a partner or loved one as a practice of sharing differences without criticism.  You might find several similar reactions and you might be surprised by differing reactions, even widely differing reactions.  Again, make sure that this is a sharing and that neither party is trying to influence the other.  Notice if there are compromises that can be reached if the two parties choices are very different.  Dinner music, for example, can be something chosen together to relax and aid digestion while each can listen to their particular preferences in their own cars.

Enjoy group experiences of music so that the heart centers of many can become connected in that vibration.  Concerts are so popular because many people are opening their hearts to others and enjoying the connections.  Noticing how music makes one feel is a part of Conscious Living.  We urge you to pay attention to the energy vibrations that you resonate with as a part of your growth in Consciousness.

And so it is.

MUSE-INGS: Hold the World in Love

Sometimes the hardest message about Love that we have to hear is the one about loving from a centered place that does not necessarily reflect what we are feeling in a certain moment.  Feelings can overwhelm us and when we are faced with a very emotional situation it can be extremely difficult to remember to project the energy of Universal Love.

The way to remind ourselves is to pause, take a breath, and notice how we feel without acting on that feeling yet.  Of course, if what you are feeling is fear of the sabre-toothed tiger who is bearing down on you, then you might want to run while you pause! But, even then, you will find that reaching into the place of peace and Universal Love within you and projecting that energy outside of yourself can calm the energy around you.  A friend encountered a mountain lion near her kitchen door and she went outside holding only Love and peaceful energy within her. She talked soothingly to the mountain lion while he looked at her.  The picture shows a brilliant light shining forth from the eyes of the mountain lion – an amazing photo!  My friend stayed in a higher vibration than fear and had a wonderful experience of close proximity with a mountain lion.

So what happens when we pause and breathe?  We then have time to move into the ‘observer mode,’ the place where we have the most resources for choosing a course of action.  When we can observe ourselves in a situation we can also observe possible outcomes of the choices we see before us.  If we stay in the emotion of the moment our vision is narrowed and we frequently can’t see multiple options from which to choose our next step.  And when we notice what is going on in our body in that moment we have even more information to work with.

Try this the next time you are interacting with someone, even if there are not intense emotions in the minute.  Take a second to visualize the Light and Love that is streaming into the top of your head from your connection to the Universal Source of Love and Light and connect with that energy in your Heart Center.  Then really look at the person, really notice them, really listen to them.  Notice how it feels in you when you do this.  This isn’t about bombarding them with Light energy, for that would be an invasion of their boundaries.  This is more like holding a space for them to be in connection with you in a bubble of this Love and Light.  They have the option of choosing to step into the bubble or to step away from it, but you are defining the vibration in which you wish to hold this interaction.  When someone chooses not to engage at this level of energy, that is their prerogative but you don’t have to step into a space that is not appropriate for you.

The person who is living the Conscious Life will practice always operating from this level of awareness and connection, with other people and with the Universal Source of Love and Light.  Imagine how peaceful the world would be if everyone operated in this energy.  You might not have the power to make the entire world enjoy this vibration but the world around you will certainly change when you are holding this energy in every situation!

Live and Love with One Heart

Dear Ones,

Living and loving with one heart gives you a unity of purpose in your life.  Do you know what we are meaning here?  Think about your heart and how many different ways that you have for loving – your life partner, your parents, your children, your friends, your work, your pets, your home, your car, your favorite sweater.  You use the term ‘love’ to describe a feeling about all of these people and objects.

We are talking about ‘love’ in the sense of the verb that is sourced in your heart of heart, the place within your body where the energy of your higher energy centers and your lower energy centers come together.  Your Heart Center is the place where the energy from Mother Earth comes up through your body and meets the higher vibration energy that comes through the top of your head from Source energy, the Universal Source of Love & Light.  These energies meet in your Heart Center and you can make a decision to send this energy out to others in a specific way that is not about how you feel about them.

Think of the people that you thought you loved in your life but for whom your feelings dimmed when they failed to live up to your expectations of them.  How many objects have you said you ‘loved’ yet discarded when they were no longer useful?  This is not the kind of love that we are addressing here.

We want you to think of Love as an energy that connects you to another because you choose to make that connection.  Think of your partner or child or grandchild or dear friend and think of holding them in a Love energy that does not have expectations, has no rules for them to follow, does not require reciprocation for you to hold them in that Love energy.  This Love comes from Consciousness, not from feelings.  This Love has no requirements on the other party.  And this Love has a great benefit to you because it allows you to maintain your own energy at a higher level than that of feelings.

We understand that all humans experience feelings and we are not telling you that there is anything wrong with having feelings.  But as a person who is committing to live a Conscious Life on Planet Earth then you are one who must learn about the higher vibrations of energies that take you above your feelings while allowing you to honor how you feel.  For some of you this might seem confusing but there are ways that you can achieve this.

First you must learn to honor the feelings that do arise within you. But by honoring those feelings we do not mean that you must determine your choices in life only on how you feel.  When you experience strong feelings you are being led to examine a situation or a relationship so that you can learn something in that moment.  The emotion is a clue that there is something for you to examine and from which you can learn.  The emotion is not the point of growth for you – it is the flag that tells you that you are in a situation that holds the potential for you to experience growth.  Learning to allow your emotions to be teachers for you is a big step in living a Conscious Life.

For example, when you are in a close relationship with another person, you are, by definition, going to experience reactions and emotions in that relationship.  Whether that person is a relative or loved one or colleague or boss, because you are both human, you will have feelings.  But the awake and aware individual knows that the relationship does not hinge only on the feelings of a moment.  The relationship is being forged in a whole collection of moments and requires that each participant be allowed the space and energy for personal growth within that relationship.  When one person refuses to grow the whole relationship suffers from that decision.  But when one person decides to operate in the relationship from their Heart Center, always holding the other person in the energy of Universal Love, then both parties benefit.

Do you see that the decision to hold another person, or a relationship, in the energy of Universal Love allows you to expand in your growth into Consciousness and allows the other person the opportunity to learn lessons and to also grow in Consciousness?  The difficult part of this is that you have no control over what the other person chooses to do in this situation.  They might choose to cut themselves off from the flow of Universal Love.  They might choose to ignore the opportunity for personal growth that has been afforded them.  They might even choose to turn around and attack you in the situation because you are not engaging with them at a lower vibration of energy.  But this does not mean that you can or should change your connection to the Source of Universal Love nor does it mean that you are right or they are wrong.  It simply means that you are operating in that moment from different vibrations of energy.  And this has nothing to do with how either of you is feeling in that moment.

Making a choice to find the space within you that holds the energy of Universal Love and then to participate in all relationships from that place will change the world around you.  You will find that the person who benefits the most from this is not the person on the other side of a relationship but is, indeed, yourself.  And holding yourself in the energy of Universal Love is Self Love, the place from which any love for others must flow.

And so it is.
