Congratulations! You’ve made it through the first three weeks of the New Year! And now it’s time to celebrate the first New Moon of 2012 and the beginning of the Chinese New Year on Monday, January 23 at 2:41 am Eastern Time. This New Moon, when the Sun is in the same cosmic spot at the Moon [astrologically] energizes new beginnings, the start of a new cycle. We’ve got Uranus, Ceres and Mars helping to emphasize this. It’s a good time to delve into underlying fears and motivations and to clear them as well as the limiting beliefs and negative thoughts that they engender. Dream your impossible dream and use the energy of the New Moon to make it happen!

We’re finally getting some cooler weather here in Maryland. I haven’t worn many of my Colorado winter clothes yet, but my friends back in Colorado say it’s been warm there, too. Guess we won’t be putting away the summer clothes just yet. But I’m ready to do that! I get tired of the same outfits around the year and like having different seasons. Are you like me? In Ayurveda thought we should do a detox of the body with every season change, just as we change our wardrobe. I think this applies to our thoughts and beliefs as well. How do you plan for 90-day cycles? I’m working with clients now to develop their strategic plans for the next 90-days and uncover the steps to implement those plans. We’re into 2012 and there’s an excitement in the air around all that that means. Can you feel it? I’m seeing it with my clients, an expectation of great things to come. Big changes. People moving to other parts of the country or other countries. Businesses shifting gears and growing. Relationships redefining themselves. It’s the energy of growth. Consciousness is expanding and people are no longer willing to live in ignorance. The Light is being shone into dark corners. I’m excited!

How is this playing out in your life? What changes are you anticipating in the coming days? We’re enjoying our shift from the Colorado mountains to the beautiful waters of Maryland. Magenta sunsets over the Severn River. Catching up with old friends. Meeting new friends. Networking. Sharing. Exploring ideas. It’s all good.

We’re in the time of the waning [reducing] Moon now and so it’s still time for letting go. Try creating a little ritual where you move things around in your house, or give something away, or throw something away to signal your unconsciousness mind that you are ready for change. We’re approaching the Chinese New Year so let’s continue the out with the old movement by releasing what doesn’t serve our growth in consciousness as we expand into 2012. We’re here, Folks! It’s 2012 and the planet is still spinning on its axis, orbiting around the Sun. Whew! Dodged another bullet, so far. [Although our grandson, Cody, who is 13, did wrap himself in aluminum foil so that he wouldn’t evaporate at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Not sure where that came from!]

This is a big year for Planet Earth. In Numerology, 2012 is a ‘5’ year, a year for big changes. [2+0+1+2 = 5] And in January we all think about the changes we want to make in our lives but somehow New Year’s resolutions don’t always last beyond New Year’s Day. [I saw a poll during the Tournament of Roses Parade where over one third of respondents said they had already broken their resolutions, and that was on January 2nd!]

So how about making 2012 the year that you will explore change, embrace change, and make meaningful changes when they seem appropriate to your Life Purpose? That helps you to lead a conscious life, always on the alert for ways to expand your own consciousness and seeking ways to fulfill your purpose. Use the weekend to manifest what is building in your life so that you can let go of what you no longer need on Monday. Focus on the changes you want to make and decide how you will go about making those changes, what support you need. Then go for it!

Happy New Year! It’s time to examine 2011 [and do you see the word ‘mine’ in there? Let’s MINE 2011 for its treasures and gifts for us!] and prepare for 2012.

Here’s a great New Year’s exercise for you – make a list of your top 10 Values and then number them in order from highest priority to lowest. Then examine 2011 for how your values match the time you spent during the year and plan 2012 based on devoting time to your top values. You might be surprised at the results!

This is how we decided to move back to Maryland – we decided that our highest value is FAMILY and we were not living near any family. So we are back in Maryland, and here I am with the Grandkids!
