Mystic Messages

Two big events this week in the heavens:  Mercury goes Direct on St. Patrick’s Day [Hallelujah!] and the Spring Equinox happens in the Northern Hemisphere [Hurray for Spring!].  Do you notice the fabled Mercury Retrogrades, when the planet appears from Earth as if it is traveling backward?  On Sunday, March 17 Mercury appears to stop for a bit and then start to move forward again.  Communications can also move forward more smoothly when the planet of communication travels that way in relation to Earth [or so it seems]!

And on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:01 am Eastern Time we have the Spring Equinox, when the Sun moves into the sign of Aries, the astrological New Year.  This is the day of balanced sunlight and darkness and the days begin to be longer than the nights.  In the US we’ve already turned our clocks ahead 1 hour for Daylight Savings Time, which means our teenaged granddaughter leaves for the school bus in darkness at 6:30 am for awhile longer.  What are you planning for this astrological year?  What are you doing to bring your life into equilibrium for the Equinox?  How do you seek balance?  These are the questions to ask yourself as you move through Spring Equinox energy and the new beginnings of Nature’s resurrection.

We’re in the New Moon energy!  Woo Hoo!  It’s time to move forward with some new thought, new ideas, new activities.  The actual New Moon is on Monday, March 11 at 3:51 pm Eastern DAYLIGHT Time.  [Remember to turn your clocks ahead 1 hour Sunday morning, March 10 in the US!]  The energy of a New Moon starts about 3 days before the day and lasts for 3 days after it.  We get a whole week of this energy that supports us in inviting in and expecting something new in our lives.  The Full Moon also has a week’s influence.

At the time of the New Moon the Sun and Moon are in the same degree of the same astrological sign.  This time they are both in Pisces and they are joined by Neptune, Mercury, Chiron, Venus and Mars!  That’s a lot of energy concentrated in one sign, so, according to The Mountain Astrologer magazine, this is ‘an exceptional opportunity for profound insights, deep healing, and major shifts in consciousness…Rest, reflect, and remember your divine origins and your divine mission.’  And remember that Mercury is still retrograde, until March 17, so continue to review anything that you sign.

Are you ready for March?  Is it coming in like a Lion or a Lamb where you are?  We have so many traditions about this time of year that it gets exciting to be watching for the signs of Spring and planning for planting our gardens and welcoming the Sun and warmer weather.  And to our friends Down Under – we’ll send our warm wishes as things heat up in this hemisphere and cool down Down Under!

We’ve added new birdfeeders to the yard so we can enjoy our feathered friends as they visit.  I highly recommend this small investment for the great pleasure it brings the family to watch the birds.  Nature gives us the gift of others to share her bounty with, and watching their antics is great entertainment, for the price of a few birdseeds.

Lots of fun around here, too, as we get ready for the Rainbow Balance Color Therapy Class this month in Maryland!  We’re putting together some fun materials and exercises and I’ll have to talk fast to get everything said that I want to share with the students.  I hope you have already registered to get the advantage of the Early Bird Investment!  If you haven’t and you call me today, March 1, I can probably still get you into the class at that level.  Here are the details for you if you want to learn how to develop your intuition and use color for healing, relationships, finances and empowerment: Details

Putting the finishing touches, too, on my workshop at the CCBC Women’s Expo in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday, March 16 at 3:00.  This Expo should be a great gathering of women and men with lots of breakout sessions and exhibitors to support women and small businesses in the area.  If you’re a Marylander or in the area, please stop by.  Tickets are only $5 for the Expo that is all day Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17.

Did the Full Moon last Monday hit you like a ton of bricks?  Sometimes they are gentle and at other times they are powerful.  This one seemed to have a lot of energy with it and we’re finally emerging from it’s strongest influence.  But as the Moon wanes to New we are still supported by the energy of letting go of whatever is in our environment, including our emotional environment, that no longer serves our highest good.  What facades have you erected as protection that it’s now time to release?  What emotions are addictions for you that you are ready to release?  I’m finding my clients all seem to be ready to let go of some story from their past that has kept them anchored in a certain posture that is not the 2013 person they have become.  Release what doesn’t serve you!

And, speaking of astrological energies, Mercury is still Retrograde [appearing to move backward when viewed from Earth] so communications can be farbled or lost in cyberspace.  Double check your emails and texts and voicemails.  Reread anything that you are signing.  Go inside and review your life – what do you want to change?  Get ready to change after Mercury goes Direct on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, and it’s effect can continue until April 6.  So use caution and be aware that everyone else is also being a bit distracted – drive defensively!

Mercury goes Retrograde tomorrow, Saturday, February 23 at 4:41 am Eastern Standard Time!  Are you ready?  Have you already been feeling the effects?  This is one of the periods during the year when it appears from Earth as if the Planet Mercury is moving backwards  between us and the Sun.  (It isn’t really going backwards!)  Some folks get very uptight when this happens and look for communications to be garbled and mail/email to go astray, but that’s what they’re looking for.  The rest of us decide that we’ll be careful, review every communication (if you find typos in this MuseLetter, please blame them on Mercury!) and use this time to do inner work.  I know an artist who LOVES Mercury Retrograde – she gets her most creative inspiration during this time, maybe because she shuts down external communications.  It’s all in how you perceive this.

So because a lot of people will be distracted for the next three weeks or so, do be careful of what you are writing or signing or committing to (contracts).  And other drivers will be turning inward to be a defensive driver and stay alert yourself.  Watch for signs!

We’re very excited about the Rainbow Balance Color Therapy Class that is starting up on March 7 in the Annapolis, Maryland area!  Some cool people have already signed up so I know it will be a fun class.  We’ll be working with color intuition and learning how to discern the color frequency that we need to use to bring ourselves into balance and what form to use to introduce that color into our body and/or environment.  There will be fun exercises and visualizations and plenty of time for playing with color.  If you’re interested in working with color for healing, for yourself and/or others, there are still some spots available.  The Early Bird Discounted investment is good un til March 1 so be sure to register before then to get the best value!  Here’s where you can find more information: Color Therapy Class.  Hope you can join us!  And if you don’t live in the area, we’ll be offering this same class online later in the Spring and you can participate then.

I’m just back from my writing retreat where I went off with the dog for 4 days to get the new book underway.  It was wonderful!!! [Richard was studying qigong is going to be certified soon as a teacher – stay tuned for more info!]  So watch for the book to come out later this year – From Astrophysics to Metaphysics.

Actually, I’m off on another retreat, this time alone to do some writing on my next book. I’ve been encouraged by many friends and mentors and now I’m committed. Richard is off on a Qigong retreat in Baltimore; Tara and I are on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We are both as busy as usual.

Hello and happy mid-February!  I hope you have fared well in the recent storms and wild weather.  We’re skirting the worst of the winter weather here so far, thankfully.  Still another month to the beginning of Spring and the Aries energy of New Beginnings – looking forward to it!

But first the Sun, representing our Self, enters the sign of Pisces on Monday, February 18.  The keywords for Pisces are: sensitive, intuitive, emotional, escapist, imaginative, impressionable, compassionate.  Use this month to explore these aspects of your personality and get in touch with your dreamy part.  This is a good time to explore your nighttime dreams and your visions for your future.

I’m going on another retreat!  I will be holing up at my sister’s house on the Eastern Shore of Maryland again and will be focused on writing my next book.  If you don’t hear from me for a few days, please know that I am tied to the quill and ink as I capture on paper [okay, in the computer] the book I hope to get to the publisher this Summer.  Sometimes it is best to simply disconnect from the busy-ness of life to get something moving, and this is one of my dreams coming true.
