NEWS FROM ROSEMARY: February 26, 2010

A Full Moon is almost upon us so we are getting ready for more ‘luna-tics’ to be driving on the roads.  Be careful!  Use the energy of the Full Moon to release what no longer serves you, especially old ideas that belong to other people and other times.  This is also a good time to clean out your emotional closet and get rid of old feelings that are holding you back from living a happy and contented life.  Release those old emotions to the Full Moon and let the energy as she wanes and moves to darkness carry those emotions away with her.

Exciting news: Richard has started a blog, www.MenandTheGoddess.com and it’s getting some buzz.  The author of a book he quoted has already posted a comment.  Check it out!  And let the men in your life know that there’s someone discussing men and their connection to The Divine Feminine within them.

I’m having some great private sessions with clients who are ready to move through their blocks and move into their greatness as they pursue their goals for 2010, personal, professional and spiritual.  Contact me to schedule a session if you would like to receive guidance for the next steps in your life.

As March begins, get ready for Spring!  It’s snowing as I write this but Spring is coming soon.  Hurray!

BOOK LIGHTS: From “The Path to Tranquility” by The Dalai Lama

“Here is a general statement about Tibetan medicine: Human physiology is spoken of in terms of the three humors – wind, bile, and phlegm.  Where do disturbances originate?  Wind, bile, and phlegm imbalances occur respectively from the ‘three poisons,’ or primary mental afflictions: namely, attachment, anger, and ignorance.” –The Dalai Lama

When we foster curiosity, in ourselves and in others, then we move beyond ignorance.  Tibetan medicine understands how our ‘mental afflictions’ can affect us.  At least we have tools for dealing with those ‘three poisons’! Rosemary

MUSE-INGS: Maintain Your Child-Like Curiosity!

Curiosity, especially intellectual curiosity, is sadly lacking in our society today.  I often wonder about the people who listen to pharmaceutical ads on television, for example, without wondering why they should take a drug that has possible side effects that sound worse than the condition for which they would take the drug.  Aren’t they curious about that?

Or what about those who hear something, a piece of news, for instance, from one source and don’t bother to get corroborating evidence before they react emotionally? How can so many people on Earth in the 21st Century ignore the evidence of centuries of study, like those who still believe the Earth is the center of the Solar System despite our space exploration results that show us, up close and personal, that this is not so?  Do you ever wonder about their lack of curiosity?

I suspect that we have fallen into a time where intellectual curiosity is just ‘too darn hard’ for some people.  I mean, if you can slide through life without ever asking a question, then not much will be demanded of you.  For some people it is not even a choice to stop asking questions – they have been told the answers and the one source of information and they continue to acquiesce to that authority.  Others fail to ask questions because they are afraid of being judged by authorities or friends or family members.  Who doesn’t remember a moment in school that was confusing but the social ridicule that might follow looking ‘stupid’ prevented the question from being asked?

Why do you suppose that we have devolved into a complacent society where some don’t want to ask questions and some are too afraid to ask?  Why is it such a dividing factor that only some are willing to say ‘the emperor has no clothes’ while others might not notice or choose not to question?  Are there really any answers to these questions?

I believe that we must always be childlike in our explorations of what is around us.  We must look with wonder at the unfolding of a blossom or the rainbow in the sky or the little ant carrying a huge [for him] load on his back.  When something around us seems to be inconsistent with our model of the world I believe we have an obligation to our own development to ask questions.  Asking a question is not a judgment that something is wrong.  It is not a criticism of a person or system or situation.  It is merely an attempt to get clarification, better understanding.  A conclusion can be reached after the questioning but the questioning itself is an information-gathering stage.

We must all do this about our lives and our personal development, too. We must be examining our lives, not to be harsh judges but to be good learners.  A relationship is not damaged by asking if there is something the other party wishes to change.  A job is not usually in danger if one asks questions to better understand a context or situation.

As a spiritual counselor I see only those people who are willing to ask questions.  They are curious about ways they can improve their lives, or about something they can change, or what the next step is for them.  My clients are willing to explore themselves and their lives to develop a deeper understanding.  I love that these people come to me for help in their personal growth.  I am excited that so many people are willing to ask the questions that stimulate growth.

I’m sure that all who are reading these words are committed to a path of personal growth and are willing to ask the questions that will facilitate that growth.  See if you can expand your questioning to explore other topics about which you are curious.  Is there something that fascinates you but that you think you don’t have the time to explore?  Maybe reading a book or watching a documentary on that subject will stimulate your curiosity even further.  Do you ever ponder philosophical questions?  Maybe you can find some other people who would meet with you periodically to explore these questions.

It’s good for all of us to stay curious.  We all have a responsibility to expand human consciousness and understanding of the world around us.  Let’s start by being childlike in our curiosity.  After all, it was a child in the fairy tale who declared that ‘the emperor has no clothes’!

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE from The Divine Feminine: Remain Curious; Continue Growing!

Dear Ones,

Questions.  There are always questions to be asked. How often do you find yourself asking questions for which you hear no answer?  How often do you wonder about something and wonder, too, where to find the answer?

Or are you the other kind of person, the one who has answers and is just waiting for someone to ask you a question so that you can share one of your answers?  If you are not the person with all the answers, do you know that kind of person?

We would tell you that curiosity is a good thing for a human being to have.  On Planet Earth in the 21st Century there are many situations about which it is appropriate to have questions.  For too long many have been complacent and uncurious about what is going on around them.  For too long many have fought to isolate themselves and their resources to protect them from some intrusion by another entity: government or enemy or other human being.

People who have not been asking questions are stagnating in old energy that is no longer appropriate for Planet Earth.  Only the curious, those who question, can move forward.  If one accepts the ‘status quo’ as perfect then one cannot grow, cannot expand awareness, cannot move into a more enlightened state.

You probably know the kind of person who has no intellectual curiosity and is thus easy to mislead into believing something that is not true.  This person is content to live in an unenlightened way because they are afraid of ‘upsetting the applecart.’  It is sad to see a person who believes they know the answers even when they are not asking the questions that they should.

It is sad, too, to see people living in fear of asking questions.  What if the answer might be disturbing? What if the answer shakes up preconceived notions about how things are? This would be devastating to someone who is wedded to the notion that everything is fine as it is and that there is no necessity for change.

Think of the world you would be inhabiting if all the people of Earth had adopted this attitude through time.  You would not have automobiles or computers or telephones or televisions or radios.  You would not be connected around the world instantaneously via satellites and the internet.  Your life expectancy would be much shorter than it currently is.  Now some might say that not all advances in technology and science are good for society but we are not addressing that part.  Intellectual curiosity compels the human being forward in development.  The decisions about whether or not a particular advance is good for society is a different question but that question should not always be answered with a resounding ‘no’ merely because the advance indicates change.

Intellectual curiosity impels a person to ask questions about the greater parts of Life, like Death, the origin of the Cosmos, relationships, and philosophical questions.  Intellectual curiosity is especially important in spiritual matters because one’s purpose on Earth includes expanding awareness, developing greater consciousness, for Self and all of humanity.  To stay in one place, without the curiosity to explore beyond that place, stifles the human brain and the essence of Soul development.  To believe that all has been revealed keeps one from making that next discovery, that next ‘aha’ that would take the person and the world into another stage of development.  This is true not only in the larger scale but also in relationships, in one’s work, in discerning patterns in life and the world around one.  There is always a next step.

We would ask you to consider ways in which you have stopped being curious about Life.  Is there some aspect of Life about which you feel you have already decided all the answers?  Is there something you are afraid of learning more about?  How are you pursuing the curiosity that you might feel?  Who are you curious about?  A loved one?  Have you asked and really listened to them lately?  A prominent figure or situation?  Have you done any research into it?

Keep yourself curious.  That is how a human grows.  A child’s curiosity contributes greatly to their developing understanding of the world around them. Be childlike about everything around you.  Expand your awareness and ask questions.  Only then can the evolution of human consciousness continue to expand.  Do your part by remaining curious.

And so it is.

NEWS FROM ROSEMARY: February 19, 2010

Have you ever wondered about what happens after death?  Would you like to talk with a loved one who has died?  Would you like to get guidance from an angel or a spirit guide?  On February 24th at 7:00 pm MST I’ll be doing a special event, Conversation with The Other Side, and each participant will receive a message from someone on The Other Side of the veil.  These events are always educational and entertaining.  Space is very limited so that each person can receive a personal message so be sure to reserve your space soon.  If you are not in CO Springs you can participate via the internet or the phone. Details are on the website and you can reserve your space there:

There is a hint of Spring around but there are still snowflakes to fall before we get to the Spring Equinox.  It’s snowing here in Colorado as I type this but we’ve had nowhere near the East Coast snow totals!  I hope everyone who is measuring their snowfall by feet is staying well and warm!

Watch this space [coming soon] about the offerings for late Winter, early Spring.  We’re almost ready to roll them out for you!  Stay tuned.

And if you haven’t seen ‘Avatar’ I strongly recommend that you catch it in 3D, preferably Imax format.  We’re planning to see it again and it’s wonderful!  Everyone seems to be talking about it and that’s a good thing.  Here in Colorado Springs we met with some other people for a lively discussion of this film.  It’s a good one to stimulate interesting discussions. I love that there are films with messages about personal development and connectedness. [That’s all I’ll say so I don’t include any ‘spoilers’!]

BOOK LIGHTS: From A Guide for the Advanced Soul: A Book of Insight by Susan Hayward

“Of a certainty
The man who can see
All creatures in himself,
Himself in all creatures,
Knows no sorrow.

-Eesha Upanishad”

And this is the benefit of understanding the connection of all beings! Love yourself, and Love all others and you will know no sorrow. –Rosemary

MUSE-INGS: Simply Be Love

How often must we hear messages about Love before we really understand them?  There are so many aspects to Love that I guess we must hear about the energy of Love over and over and over again until we embrace the concept totally.

If you listen to the news there is so much evidence of a lack of Love in our society that one wonders how to get that energy flowing, or jump started into the community.  How can one individual really ‘getting it’ have an impact?

I guess I would ask the opposite: ‘How can one individual spewing hatred have such an effect on society?’  Think about hate radio.  Think about politicians who spew hatred.  Think about those who choose to hate other groups because of _____ – fill in the blank as there are many choices here.

One individual can have a great impact when they embrace the concept of hatred so why isn’t Love more powerful?

The fact is that Love IS more powerful!  The energy of Love is the strongest in the Universe.  You were Loved into existence because the Universe wanted you to be present on Mother Earth at this moment.  Love is the attracting force at work in the Universe in every moment.  And you are a part of that Love.  You can connect to that Love by opening your heart and deciding that you are Lovable and Loving of others.  You can choose to accept all other people because they, too, have been Loved into the present moment.

The time has come for Love to be the dominating force on Planet Earth.  ‘Love your neighbor as you Love yourself’ requires that you first Love Yourself!  Love others who are like you and Love others who are different from you.  Love the children who will inherit the Planet from you and Love those who are getting ready to leave the Planet in your hands.  Love those who make choices that are different from the choices that you make.  Love because your heart is open and it is Love that spills forth from it.  Love because YOU feel better when you are holding Love energy in you than when you hold any other energy in your consciousness.

Make this a time for you to spread Love around, without an agenda, without expecting anything in return.  Simply Be Love.

THIS WEEK’S MYSTIC MESSAGE: Loving the World into Peace

Dear Ones,

Today we would speak to you of love again.  How many messages of love can there be, you might ask?  Very many is the answer.

When one loves because their heart is open then there are no boundaries to that love, no judgment inherent in the love that is offered to another or to a group of others.  When one experiences a love that is truly unconditional then one is experiencing the energy of the Divine.

Too many people in 21st Century Earth are living with the mistaken notion that Love, with a capital ‘L,’ is an emotion that starts and stops, is earned or won, can be withheld if the person loved doesn’t measure up to some standard.  We would tell you that this notion is not about ‘Love.’  In fact, it has nothing to do with ‘Love.’  Affection is affected by whims or behaviors.  Romantic love that is not based on an open heart and that does not stem from a person who loves their Inner Self is not the kind of romantic Love that endures.  And true Love in its essence extends way beyond the romantic Love so many wish to experience.

Love of Self is the fundamental energy of loving another.  One must love the Inner Self, the being that is timeless and lives within each human being.  Connection to the Love of Self allows one to Love another.  But this kind of Love goes even deeper than the romantic Love.

When one has complete Love of Self one can only see others as Lovable beings.  One who is truly in the space and energy of Love allows all other beings to be exactly who they are at their core and Loves and accepts them as such.  One who can Love like this sees the connection with all other beings as immutable, so strong as to be unbreakable, so elemental that there can be no disputing it.  The word ‘Namaste’ recognizes this connection and honors it – ‘the Divine within me honors the Divine within you.’  This is what you are doing when you first recognize that your Inner Self is the Divine within you and that all beings have this Inner Self.

People who are understanding of this kind of Love and connection do not wage war against other human beings.  People who can Love this way do not sow hatred and intolerance.  People who recognize the Divine in others do not discriminate against any other group of beings.

Imagine the world in which you live if it were peopled by human beings who Love and accept all other human beings as having the Divine within them.  This is the description of a world at Peace.  There cannot be Peace without the understanding that an individual is responsible for their own Peace, within and about them, and that only through Loving others can there be Peace between people.

We would ask you to consider those for whom you find it difficult to hold warm feelings.  We understand that ‘feeling’ this kind of Love for all others is a tall order.  But the Love of which we speak is a choice about how you see another person or a group of people, especially those who might be different from you.  We are asking you to make a choice, right not, as you encounter our words, to first connect with your Inner Self and stir up the Love for the Divine within you, and then move that Love outward to encompass all those around you, all those with whom you come into contact, and then especially all those with whom you have differences or disagreements.  Next extend this Love around Planet Earth to all beings.  We are not saying that you must ‘feel’ warmth for everyone nor that you must approve of all behaviors, but you CAN make a decision to honor the eternal nature that is within every being.

Let the Divine within you honor the Divine within all that live on Planet Earth.  Energize this thought as often as you can.  As the word reaches others to do the same, you will begin to feel strongly your connection to All and the Love that exists in that connection.

And so it is.

BOOK LIGHTS: Richard Gerber, M.D. in “Vibrational Medicine: New Choices for Healing Ourselves”

“Manfred Clynes, a musician researching the link between music and emotions, created an entire science, called Sentics, in order to measure the elusive connection he found so intriguing.  Clynes developed a special finger transducer that could record the pattern of a fingertip’s unconscious downward pressure.  Once connected to the finger transducer, an individual being monitored would listen to certain musical pieces.  Clynes found that particular repeating patterns in fingertip pressure were triggered by various classical musical pieces.  He also discovered that these patterns were associated with certain key emotions.  Interestingly, the recorded patterns taken from transducers hooked to a variety of test subjects indicated that certain musical pieces reliably produced identical emotional patterns in many different people.  In other words, a certain emotionally evocative classical piece reliably induced the same emotion in many different listeners…Clynes’ research validated the fact that particular classical musical pieces could be repeatedly utilized to induce particular altered states of consciousness.  It is likely that bathing people entirely in the musical piece while they are lying on a sound table could be an even more powerful and evocative experience.”

Fascinating!
